The following link shows on which sites uBO-Extra is useful: https://github.com/gorhill/uBO-Extra/wiki/Sites-on-which-uBO-Extra-is-useful ### Release notes https://github.com/gorhill/uBO-Extra/releases ### Description An (optional) companion extension to uBlock Origin[1]: to gain ability to foil early hostile anti-user mechanisms working around content blockers. ### Purpose Instart Logic's technology used to disguise third-party network requests as first-party network requests, INCLUDING the writing/reading of third-party cookies. I consider this to be extremely hostile to users, even those NOT using a content blocker, as it allows third-party servers to read/write cookies even if a user chose to block 3rd-party cookies. The company behind the technology understand how hostile its technology is to users, and thus tries to hide what is being done by making it difficult to investigate by detecting whether the browser's developer console is opened, and when it detects it is opened, it ceases completely to make use of the obfuscation mechanism. The developer console-detecting code works only for Chromium-based browsers however, and therefore the obfuscation technology is not used when using Firefox (a different web page is served for Firefox). (2019-12-27) Bill A: For those who are complaining that this Extra app is not blocking all anti-adblocker messages... The Extra app tries to block those messages, but some sites use really clever ways to detect adblockers, which are nearly impossible to block. You would see those anti-adblocker messages even more if you weren't running the Extra app, so let's be thankful for the efforts of the author, after all it's a free. ;)
(2019-12-16) Camilo Castelo: The icon of uBlock Origin (the original, not the extra) has disappeared. I choose to hide the icon of Extra in Chrome menu and it worked well. The origin was showing and the extra was hidden. After a couple of hours, the extra was showing and the origin had disappeared (not hidden). I go to "Manage extensions" and the uB-origin was not simply "disabled". It had a "Reload" button beside. As this had never happened to me before, I'm unnistalling this "extra" thing.

I have been to several sites that show a blocking window across the web page that shows a huge red hexagon with the words 'Adblock' and a diagonal line across it with "I know ads are annoying but unless we charge you to view this site, ads are the only revenue that keeps this site running, so, to continue viewing this site please disable your ad blocker", and there's a link for instructions on how to disable adblock plus and many other ad blockers, which does go to show that uBlock origins extra does not work at bypassing adblock detectors,

I manually had to allow doubleclick.net and googlevideo.com, on the side where you see does ++ and -- signs. Not sure why. But I suddenly god this white screen when playing youtube. They only showed up when there was this add just in the beginning. But I manually was able to keep the picture in video by doing this.

A while back, Wikia started migrating their stuff into a new domain, fandom.com. Most links to wikia.com domains now redirect to fandom.com domains, the only ones that didn't move being stuff that wouldn't quite fit under a fandom banner. They've since finished migrating I think. Since they're a site that uses IL tech for cookies, I believe this would mean UB extra needs to have its domain list updated to include the fandom.com domain for the bulk of their sites in addition to the wikia.com where they still have a few sites no?

Today, even with this addon, wowhead managed to eat up 20% of my CPU and completely ruin everything with its ads loading. I saw that the website is mentioned in the overview, so I hoped you could help me. I tried using element zapper to zap them, but when I refresh, they come back. Today I wanted to go into my LastPass account, to make some changes. Where you admin email, password, stuff like that. It crashed, and LastPass gave an error screen saying an extension was interfering with it. Over on my firefox, where I don't have this installed, it all works fine. So maybe you guys can look into that, and fix what needs to be fixed?
