• (2019-10-14) Akshay Anurag: Doesn't work. I got a notification asking that I have already downloaded this file and if I wanted to resume download. But this notification came after the file got downloaded again. Waste of time.

• (2017-12-27) James Leworthy: This is a great little extension that is simple and effective. It does exactly what it say it does, alert you when you try to download a file that you've already downloaded, so you don't end up filling up your downloads folder with a bunch of duplicates.

• (2013-03-31) James Zarharchuck: This is genius! It's annoying when I go to download LEGAL copies of my roms to find out I already have a copy of it! Or accidentally downloading the same homework assignment. That would pile my downloads folder with unnecessary copies of the same file. With this extension I am able to be notified when it realizes I already downloaded a file and asks whether or not I want to cancel my download, open it instead of downloading, or carry on with the installation just in case I want two copies. Very productive.

  I use a program to download a massive amount of images at once, and often they are duplicates. Is there a way for the message to not pop up on the side and just delete it?

  Only works partly in Chrome Version 32.0.1675.3 canary Aura running on Windows 7. When I download a duplicate, the download is paused. However I don't get any message from the extension. Only the download status changes to paused. If I want to open the previously downloaded file, I still have to go to the folder and open it. Sounds a lot like what Kris posted.

  Hello, I have a Win7 Pro 64bit machine and Chrome Version 28.0.1500.52 beta-m installed and recently added your extension. However, I can still download the same file multiple times without any messages popping up. Is it supposed to work?
