With this extension, you can press Ctrl+Z (Command+Z on Mac) to reopen a closed tab. Ctrl+Shift+T will still work. You should install this if you're used to Ctrl+Z to reopen closed tabs and/or you don't like stretching your fingers to type Ctrl+Shit+T. Although, honestly, I don't care if you use this or not.
Known bugs: When you start Chrome after it has been completely closed, pressing Ctrl+Z won't reopen closed tabs from the last time Chrome was running, but Ctrl+Shift+T will.

- (2017-10-18) S. Walker: It simply didn't work, and used too much RAM. Pressing ctrl-z had no response. Clicking on the "C" icon and picking "Ctrl-Z Reopen Closed Tab" did NOT return the most recently closed tab. Instead, it goes to the Ctrl-Z Reopen Closed Tab extension page. Also, oddly, in Chrome Memory Manager, this extension OFTEN doesn't show up in the list, even though it's enabled! When it DOES show up, it uses 35-40 MB of RAM! That's very excessive for something as simple as this. I tried restarting Chrome. Same behavior.

- (2016-01-30) Eric Caldwell: Being a Mac user, I was SORELY missing the CMD-X key to reopen the last closed tab. This did the trick! But as Davel Liu pointed out, the remap needs to get smart and not open the last tab when the browser focus is in an input field in a web page/form.
