This chrome extension can be useful for those people who don't realise how much time they've spent on their chrome screens, be it watching a video or creating a presentation or writing and testing code. The extension has a configurable timer with some basic persistence of data so that it remembers the timer the next time you come. The popup message gets propagated to all active tabs in the browser.
