Description from store What's New in 19.1: • New feature: Press ⌘-c to copy links while hovering! Now you can copy a link without needing to open the contextual menu. • Many fixes for the Stop video autoplay and Show video controls website options, improving compatibility with full screen, picture-in-picture, and native video controls play button. • Fixed an incompatibility with shinseibank.com StopTheMadness stops web sites from making your browser harder to use. And it protects your privacy on the web! StopTheMadness is made by indie developer Jeff Johnson. If you need support, please email me at [email protected] or read the support site at https://underpassapp.com/StopTheMadness/support-chrome.html Many web sites disable user interface features in your browser that you normally expect to work. StopTheMadness ensures that those features continue to work for you in Chrome: ∙ opening a link in a new tab ∙ keyboard shortcuts (command-key on Mac, control-key on Windows and Linux) ∙ opening contextual menus ∙ selecting, copying, cutting, and pasting of text ∙ drag and drop ∙ autocomplete of passwords, emails, etc. With StopTheMadness installed, those annoying web sites that deliberately make your life harder suddenly become easy to use again! StopTheMadness also protects your privacy on the web: ∙ Stops hyperlink auditing by removing the anchor "ping" attribute on link clicks ∙ Stops tracking beacons (Navigator.sendBeacon) from firing ∙ Removes tracking parameters such as utm_source, gclid, and fbclid from links ∙ Stops sites from using the Page Visibility API to know when a tab is visible on your screen Bonus Features: ∙ Force images to the front. Bypass the transparent overlay on sites such as Instagram that prevents you from dragging and opening the contextual menu on images. ∙ Stop videos from autoplaying ∙ Force links to open in the current tab instead of a new tab by removing target="_blank" ∙ Stops sites from showing "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" alerts when you close a tab or window ∙ Warns when you paste or type beyond the maximum length in a password field or other text field ∙ Stop scrolljacking ∙ Stop sites from using JavaScript to track the movement of your mouse pointer. This feature can also stop hover popups from appearing on Wikipedia and Twitter.

  • (2019-12-30, v:9.1) Ricky de Laveaga: Got stuck on 8.6
Got stuck on 8.6. Was able to update to 9.1 by using Remove Extension and Add to Chrome from Webstore page but for whatever reason the extension was not updating. Not sure what you can do about it, tell Google maybe? Anyway I use it on all my browsers: Chrome, Safari, and Firefox Developer Edition. Finally decided to give stop video autoplay a try and used app for Safari and to update FDE, but was unsure how to update Chrome. Verified extension version in Webstore was higher than my version, but button in Webstore was disabled and said Added to Chrome. Will email this outside Webstore in case this does not reach you or if you would rather continue the conversation over email.
  • (2019-01-25, v:3.2) Payment
Sounds great! Too bad I can't buy it because there are no normal safe methods of payment available. I'll be happy to be a paying customer when things like iDeal and Paypal come available to enable to buy it for Chrome.
