Image from store Disable JavaScript
Description from store INTRODUCTION This web extension lets an user decide if JavaScript should be enabled or disabled for a given host or a given tab. FEATURES - Set the default state (JS on or JS off) - Set the disable behavior (By domain or by tab) - Use shortcuts (you can also disable this) - Use a context menu item for toggling (you can also disable this) - See your blacklisted/whitelisted domain list - Add domains manually before visiting a site - Add base domains that automatically enable/disable JS for sub domains USAGE When accessing e.g. google.com and disabling JavaScript, the web extension will block all JavaScript which otherwise would be loaded by google.com (including inline JS and external JS files from other hosts). Please note that scripts from the blacklisted host will still be loaded if they're being loaded in another host (unless you block that host as well of course). SUPPORTED BROWSERS - Mozilla Firefox (Desktop & Firefox for Android) - Google Chrome (Desktop) WHY TO USE THIS WEB EXTENSION The code is completely open source, you can also use the unpacked version of this web extension if you prefer. No data of you will ever be logged and the web extension asks only for the permissions it really needs. Pull requests are welcome! FUTURE PLANS You can see existing and add new feature proposals on the projects GitHub page (you can find the link in the about page of the web extension). SUPPORT If you need any assistance or find any bugs, feel free to contact me directly via email or use the support form in the web extension's chrome web store page.

  • (2018-10-03) JON Cunningham: WELL, this is working fine for me. A bit tricky until understood how it works, but it helps me with some sites like duckduckgo.com, etc. It stops this pop up which i hate to be bothered with, and the auto fill .glitch problem. . NOTE: I hope the publishers make things more clear on how the (Options tab) really works. As for me it was trial & error to figure it out. Thanks -
  • (2018-09-18) Gandalf Saruman: great!!! block javascript freeze click
  • (2018-09-14) Uninstalled because of one glaring flaw. The domain list only acts as a blacklist. If you set the default javascript state is to off it becomes redundant when it should be acting as a whitelist. Oh well my search continues..
  • (2018-09-07) vonlester: thank you for this extension. Now i can make sure that no site will be able to hack me using Javascript at least without my permission. Many thanks!!!!!

Latest issues

  • (2019-07-24, v:2.3.1) Ryland Whillans: Some <noscript> tags not displaying properly
When using this extension to disable javascript on a page every second noscript tag did not display its contents. The noscript tags work fine when javascript is disabled in browser settings so there must be something in the extension that interferes with this.
  • (2019-03-07, v:2.3.1) Mikko Rantalainen: RFE: Add ability to not initiate automatic reload when I re-allow JS
I have "disable javascript only for this tab" setting active and JS disabled for a tab. When I re-enable the JS the extension forces reload. Please, add a feature to disable the automatic reload. I sometimes want to re-allow the JS but still continue to e.g. inspect the source code before reloading the tab. I can press CTRL+R myself when I need the reload to happen.
