  • (2020-12-17) Rayna Kuzio: It does not offer an option to toggle on blocking for amazon.ca—there are a whole bunch of other countries on there, but not their neighbor? I couldn't tell you if it worked or not, but when i tried it on the original dot-com domain it DID NOT block any ads.
  • (2020-10-31) Fred Ellacott: Doesn't include Amazon.CA. No way to add other URLs to the extension
  • (2020-10-26) Sarah Goods: I downloaded this extension to remove sponsored ads. Sadly it does not remove them.
  • (2020-10-25) David Burkhart: Sounds great. And, I tried it. It did remove ad banners. But, it left the more-annoying, unsorted "sponsored" search results.
  • (2020-10-09) Mike Stone: this does not work
  • (2020-09-22) Mojave Green: I installed this today because I am tired of sponsored ads but it does not work I still get sponsored ads. I guess I will uninstall and hope it gets better in the future
  • (2020-07-20) Evelyn: Not perfect, but the stock amazon interface is almost unusable, making this a huge improvement.
  • (2020-06-28) Jacob Hunt: Didn't remove sponsored items which was the reason I installed it. Also removed too much other things from the site that made amazon hard to use.
  • (2020-04-04) Grzegorz Gawlowski: Doesn't work at all. Still can see all sponsored items. On top of it breaks Amazon homepage to basic HTML view. Piece of junk.
  • (2020-03-22) Adam Stock: does not work , ads still there , breaks amazon website
  • (2020-03-22) kacper brzeski: good
  • (2020-03-09) Pete Rego: Doesn't work.
  • (2020-03-09) Matthew Martin: Does not remove sponsored items as claimed.
  • (2020-03-08) Cédric: Totally useless... Pages are still full of "sponsored" content/result...
  • (2020-03-02) John B: Didn't work for me, sure it gave me a lite starting page, but all of my queries are still littered with sponsored items. I sort by price and it's a hot mess with expensive sponsored items mixed in with properly sorted legitimate items. Time to remove.
  • (2019-12-01) Logan S: Didn't remove the "sponsored" results from my searches, immediately removed plugin. Maybe Amazon changed how they're displaying those again.
  • (2019-11-15) Dale Mulcahy: It doesn't run automatically when visiting Amazon. I find I have to click the extension icon to reload Amazon to get it to clean up all the Amazon cruft. Also, there's no filtering of sponsored items which is possibly the worst part of the Amazon user experience.
  • (2019-11-13) Blue Chan: Absolutely useless as it default to ONLY work on selected country versions and not for all of them. The DEV is slow to respond and answer or include requested sites to be added. So after waiting 13 months for him to respond and update and still no answer, I installed, "Amazon Ad Blocker", Offered by: olib instead. And unlike this P.O.S... the AAB does not default to only the <dot>com or exclusive inclusion sites the DEV added. The AAB does have a weird glitch where if we click the icon directly it keeps going over to the UK version by default. No worries, because I use Extensity to toggle on/off all my 30+ extensions, I go to my preferred Amazon site, then in Extensity toggle on A.A.B. and then reload the page to force it on... and it seems to work fine. I changed my preferred <dot>ca to <dot>UK, <dot>DE, <dot>FR and it seems to work fine. Just don't click the AAB icon directly. Simply go to your preferred site and it will block all ads/sponsored ads...
  • (2019-11-06) Andy S: Does not remove anything
  • (2019-10-14) Alexander Khanikaev: Does not block sponsored products which is the main trouble selecting a product through the search on Amazon for me. More than half of search is sponsored product. It would be nice to have an extension which would block those.
  • (2019-10-13) Stephenie Swope: Nope, it does NOT remove sponsored search results. This was the ENTIRE reason that I added the extension. All it did was make the header bar nearly empty. I don't care how good it works on the homepage. My problems is that when you search nearly every other row of search results is sponsored content. I'd like to not have to look for rows without sponsored content and THEN look at the items.
  • (2019-09-04) Serena Villa: Unfortunately this doesn't work on amazon.it
  • (2019-08-23) Jan Stanger: Unfortunately not filtering out sponsored items.
  • (2019-08-16) Xavier M.: does not remove sponsored content
  • (2019-08-12) Joe Bourne: This will save my a fortune. I have real trouble stopping myself on Amazon from buying more. I've wanted something like this for ages, finally found it!
  • (2019-08-07) Stanton McCandlish: No longer properly functional. It removes too many important interface elements (e.g., on most review comment forms, the "Post a comment" button vanished; and most of the page-top menu and other navigation is missing on every page). It also did not remove all of Amazon's ads. While it does provide you with a Google-like, nearly bare front page at Amazon (a front page most of us only spend seconds at), and it did kill some page-top ads on sub-pages, it did nothing for all the "Featured" listings that Amazon injects into your item search results, polluting the list. Getting rid of THOSE in particular was the only reason I wanted this extension; my mind already auto-ignores page-top and sidebar ads, but it's difficult to mentally weed out the spam listings of, say, hard drives in a multi-page list of drives. (About the only way to do it without reading in detail is to sort by price, and ignore entries in the list that aren't in price order.)
  • (2019-08-03) Shaun McCarthy: Doesn't do anything. Sponsored ads are still shown.
  • (2019-08-01) MCFractal: Doesn't work, sponsored links still dominate Amazon.
  • (2019-06-21) Fiche Micro: All the sponsored items are still there
  • (2019-06-16) Pamela Madden: No, it does NOT filter out "sponsored" items. That's the only reason I downloaded it, and all those sponsored items are still there.
  • (2019-06-14) Little Tazz: Oh wow . . what I've been putting up with on Amazon "Sponsored ads." I just put this extension on Chrome and Amazon is TOTALLY different. Man that clutter is horrible. Thanks for this extension. What a difference.
  • (2019-06-13) Valerij D: Doesn't work for amazon.de
  • (2019-05-30) Jason Pearson: Does not perform the key advertised function: to remove sponsored search results. Sponsored search results still show up.
  • (2019-05-20) keith gladstien: did not work to removed sponsored items from smile.amazon.com nor from amazon.com.
  • (2019-05-12) Neil Schloth: Doesn't actually remove the Sponsored Products from search results. Extension doesn't work. Uninstalled immediately.
  • (2019-04-20) Daniel S.: Doesn't work as advertised. No sponsored results removed.
  • (2019-04-13) Nicholas Jackson: Did not remove sponsored product ads from Amazon.com search results. Also destroyed page formatting; a massive block of whitespace was added on the left, among other oddities. See screenshot. https://i.imgur.com/JdOvBXd.png
  • (2019-04-09) Jared Jeffers: Does not currently remove a single sponsored result.
  • (2019-04-07) 雷風: Firefox version please
  • (2019-03-13) Pete M.: JUST installed it, so I have not given it a fair shake yet, but already a HUGE improvement! No more MAGA hats and Trump items, thank GOD! One thing I noticed, however, is that there is still an "Inspired by your views" section at the bottom of the page. Strange, since I have turned off personalized ads. Great extension, I will be watching for new developments. THANK YOU!
  • (2019-03-04) it don't work. It don't do nothing.
  • (2019-02-23) Kimberly Brink-Castleberry: Does a great job knocking out a lot of the self-advertising that Amazon does. However, I'm currently finding that it's not working at knocking out sponsored results in search queries. An example URL is https://www.amazon.com/s?k=oxalic+acid+wood+2lb&ref=nb_sb_noss Additionally, as another reviewer said, the inability to toggle it on and off easily is a major problem. There are certainly plenty of times when everything is needed.. and multiple steps to mess with the extension page are overkill.
  • (2019-02-07) Review Update: Developer responded to my original review re: not working with "Amazon Smile" URLs. The extension now works perfectly with Smile URLs all the way from search to viewing items to completing a purchase. Excellent! The only suggestion I have now is that it would be nice if the extension icon allowed a way to toggle the "lite" view on and off (like uBlock Origin does). While "lite" view is great there are times I want to see Amazon unfiltered. Disabling the extension then enabling later is several avoidable steps. Original review: This extension does not work when using "Amazon Smile" URLs to access Amazon. It appears to do a great job on the non-Smile URLs, but I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the ability to have my purchases make donations to my selected organization.

When I had Amazon Lite on I couldn't see the items in my cart. So I cleared the check box for Amazon Lite that was available on one of the screens. I see that my extension is enabled, but haven't found a way to turn Amazon Lite back on.
  • (2021-02-24, v:1.1.5) Fernando Perez: are missing
With Amazon Lite active, I can check out with items in my cart but I can't see those items. When I hit the switch to turn off Amazon Lite at the bottom of the site, the items are listed prior to checking out. Items used to show up before with the extension active, so it seems Amazon changed something on their back-end that the extension seems to be picking up as something to filter out.

  • (2019-06-13, v:1.1.2) Corky Peavy: Fabulous idea! Does not filter sponsored items though :-(
The thing that bothers me most about amazon is the "sponsored" items mixed in with the search results. At least the clump of sponsored items at the top and bottom are easy to ignore, but when they are mixed in they drive me crazy. I'm dismayed that Amazon charges $120/year and STILL aggressively spams us! Unfortunately this extension is not filtering any of that. :-(
