The problem with the negativity seen on these articles is the slight chance that those trolls actually read the article, but want to only bully others.

We may disagree on certain issues but I know the discussion is coming from a person who is invested in the topic, not just commenting on personal opinions that may have been launched by headline skimming. When discussing topics I have found the responders to be more knowledgeable and generally more willing to engage in respectful dialogue. This type of venue may help to tamp down the vitriol that has taken over on many discussion groups. Actually the most offensive comments on many comment sections come from people who obviously do not fully read the content. I believe this is a wonderful concept that is long over due.

• (2017-08-11) My reading habits were pretty bad before I started using reallyread.it. This extension is great for people who want to improve their ability to read longer, meatier articles and stories. It shows you what you've really read and where you merely skimmed. Commenting on reallyread.it is better than on other sites, because it's not a total free-for-all with a bunch of non-readers. This is a really awesome concept. I'm excited to be a part of this community and see how the technology develops!
