Description from extension meta

Chrome extension for measuring elements on page

Image from store SnapGuide
Description from store SnapGuide is a tool that brings Photoshop-like guides to web. It lets you put down guides that snap intelligently to the page content. It snaps to borders and padding, and will even snap to the baseline of text. There is on-screen help with a list of shortcuts. Unlike some extensions it will not interfere with any webpage you visit unless you click the SnapGuide icon. Once installed: Click icon or Alt+Shift+S to activate. Read help, or press Space to dismiss it. Mouse over document, observe that rules snap to useful positions (including baselines!), and use keys as follows: V – add vertical guide H – add horizontal guide Q – remove all guides ←, ↑, →, ↓ – move cursor 1px (+ Shift for x10) Space – toggle help Alt+Shift+S - launch SnapGuide Please leave feedback or send me suggestions at [email protected]

  • (2021-10-20) Valentin Tanase: Once turned on can't exit the SnapGuide extension and mouse will keep the horizontal and vertical positioning line. If you open Inspect Element only clicks are recorded. SnapGuide helps but is far from a perfect tool

  • (2021-07-02, v:1.0.1) Greg Bruce: missing functionality
One of the screenshots shows a horizontal distance measurement between 2 vertical guides, That is exactly the feature I need and haven't been able to find in any extension yet. Unfortunately this plugin also doesn't seem to support that feature, the screenshots seem to be comps of some ideal future state. Disappointed. The guide lines are really quite useless without the ability to measure the distance between them.
  • (2020-11-05, v:1.0.1) Erik Bangsund: How do you quit/turn off?
I don't know how to turn it off one I am done using it on a page.
  • (2018-06-11, v:0.7.0) Giorgio Adamo: Use on local files
is it possible to enable it when opening local files? I can't use the plug-in on local files nor it's activable from the extensions options (only incognito)
