• (2023-10-26) josh wanner: It was awesome but today it has started interacting with my LButton on my mouse, I saved my data and uninstalled. When I reinstalled I tested it without any hotkeys set up, completely clean and just on it's own it was affecting my taskbar icons. When I click a taskbar icon and then click it again to minimize on the second click it presses the LButton down and makes me drag the program on the taskbar and doesn't minimize. I have to click again to release it and then click again to finally minimize it... I'm not sure what to do, it's likely clashing with Autohotkey and so I think I'll over time try to convert everything to Autohotkey and not use autocontrol app at all.

The MRU functionality (or even last tab, for God's sake!) is worth the price of admission, but this extension is top notch, well thought-out, and shows a passionate developer who loves what he does.

I LOVE how it lets you specify a shortcut for searching a certain site or even part of a site for something. When I use Mouse Right Button + Wheel to switch to left/right tab, it always displays the right-click menu. It's very annoying. Browsers like CentBrowser doesn't have this issue. Also the extension stops working now and then, I have to do emergency repair to fix this. And it told me that Play/Pause key is pressed, which is not. Hope you can get these fixed and then it's absolutely the best.

• (2023-05-07) James Goodrich: This thing is incredible. First, let's just say I've had a rough experience with AutoHotkey. I know this is mostly because of its utterly ridiculous, universal power and flexibility, and my poor coding skills, but still. In comparison, this has a very simple, easy to use interface, especially considering that it can do like 95% of what I've even thought of wanting (at time of review). Also very nice: having a lot of help built-in and thoughtfully only displayed when I need it, instead of needing to sift through a huge pile of documentation whenever I want to look something up. It would be nice to be able to check if another tab has a particular URL open to use as a condition. This might very well not be technically possible, or I simply haven't found out how to do this. Also I kind of wish I could prevent the "support the project" button on the left from very occasionally wiggling and distracting me if I leave it open on another monitor, lol. Anyway, this is great and I extremely cannot recommend it enough. Ironically, finding out all the stuff I can do with this has inspired me to give AHK another chance to see what I can do outside of chrome (once I feel like reading a ton of documentation and fiddling with things).
• (2023-04-18) SenusSuns (Hydracoil): This extension has been a life-saver for me and I absolutely love it, It's highly customizable and makes navigating my browser so much easier. There is just 1 fatal flaw and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the extension or chrome itself but for some reason all the shortcuts I create usually stop working so If I make for example the 5th or 4th mouse button go to the left and right tab it will work for a little bit but since the 5th and 4th mouse button is also used as a back and forward button it will suddenly start functioning like a forward and back button instead of completely overwriting it. Everytime I restart my computer it works just fine but then it stops working again and I hate having to restart my computer everytime I want to use this extension. I hope there is a fix because it's very frustrating to deal with.

I was using another mouse gesture extension which is great but the rocker gesture is not smooth and i would prefer to use this extension exclusively. However with that extension, there is a great feature which is by holding my mouse button and selecting any text on a webpage, i can then set a mouse trigger gesture to automatically search a website for what i highlighted. For example im browsing the web and I see an item on that webpage that I would like to find on amazon. So I highlight it with my mouse and do a mouse gesture (in the shape of an "a" for amazon in this case) and it will immediately open the amazon search webpage with results for what i highlighted all in one step (or it could set to search any page like ebay or reddit or google search search results etc). so for example i highlight the word pencil on a webpage, then do my trigger gesture and it opens https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=PENCIL. is there a way to search what i highlighted in one step with this extension please? Another question please - is it possible to set a trigger gesture to cause action of a keyboard press (for example my trigger is when i press a keyboard button the action is to output alt+shift+H) Finally - There is something that really bugs me about chrome that there is no extension to fix. whenever i save a bookmark it goes to the bottom of my bookmarks bar. as i have a lot of bookmarks i have to scroll all the way to the end. I would love an option to save a bookmark with a trigger gesture and it goes to the most left hand side of my bookmarks tab so i can see it straightaway rather than the default end of the list. I can not believe there is not one extension that does this because firefox has this great extension called "Default Bookmark Folder" which lets you choose to add the new bookmarks to the top or the bottom of the selected folder and with one click too. I don't want to think about what that might do. Nothing good, that's for sure.

  Hi, I'm using autocontrol to remap keys system wide but need to keep it running in the background to do so. The problem is that I have multiple windows with multiple tabs open at all times. To close the multiple windows and restore them on startup, I need to use the exit option from the context menu. But this exits the autocontrol app running in the background as well. Any way to circumvent this problem? Is there any way the native component can function on its own without needing to keep chrome running in the background? Thanks

  When I use "Emergency Repair" it works well again for a few seconds. Then it goes back to not being able to drag tabs around, or even the browser window itself. It's just locked. On top, I use ShareMouse to control two computers from the keyboard/mouse of one of them, and when AutoControl is on, I can move the mouse cursor to the other computer, but whatever clicks or scrolls will still be executed on the main machine. Interestingly, when I minimize Chrome (even with AutoControl enabled) the issue with ShareMouse disappears. So thanks for any insight so I can get back to full power with AC turned on :)

So far I narrowed the issue down to background.js of Tabs+ where chrome.tabs.onCreated.addListener event listener on line 285 it activates previous tab. This somehow affects AC (I'm pretty certain AC does the scrolling). If I delay chrome.tabs.update(prevTab.id, {active: true}); for 15+ms it seems fixes the issue.

  I want to assign a keyboard shortcut which opens a Chrome extension to a mouse click. Can this be done and if so how? thanks

  BACK action sometimes doesn't work properly after RUNning SCRIPT with openURL. Say: let links = document.getElementsByTagName('link'); let l = links.length; for (var i = 0; i < l; i++) { if (links[i].rel == 'next') { ACtl.openURL(links[i].href, '#currentTab'); return; } } Browser history looks updated improperly within openURL; you can see back arrow of the Chrome history is still grayed out. When you click another link (so browser adds another entry on the history) after this occurs, the entry for openURL should silently appear on the history; you can see that by right-clicking the back arrow. So there may be some problem around updating history#.
• (2021-12-06, v:2021.9.4) Dharma Jannyter: Windows 10 notification center slow-down after long use.
  When using AutoControl, then after a while the notification center slide-in of Windows 10 begins to lag more and more. The worst will then be when I clear all items from the notification center, because the mouse will slow down as if the CPU is working 100% for a few seconds. This does not happen if I have ActionControl disabled from the start. AutoControl somehow seems to react to the notification center slide-in, because sometimes after opening the notification center the gesture-arrows sometimes stay on screen afterwards. Only opening the notification center again clears those stuck gesture-arrows. So it seems that AutoControl somehow interacts with the notification center which slows the latter down after some time, especially after regularly receiving notifications and clearing them from time to time. Even killing the AutoControl process and letting it restart doesn't fix this issue. Only a reboot fixes this. Would be nice if the AutoControl native component could somehow ignore the notification center completely.

  I am facing this problem in which autocontrol keeps being inactive which means none of the triggers work. To fix it, I every time need to go to options and disable and enable a trigger. Please fix this issue/bug. By the way thank you very much for this wonderful extension.

  Now that it has the Clipboard Changes event, it would be nice to have a trigger condition that looks for certain text in the clipboard, the same way the url condition works. This would allow for a very easy way to trigger the action by inserting a specific string in the clipboard with AutoHotKey or other actions of AutoControl.

  I got your app specifically just to remove auto scroll function from middle mouse click, but this seems to make me have to customize every other possible function of the middle mouse button. I have to tell it to do nothing first unless its hovering over a link or tab or auto scroll works again, then set middle click to close tabs like default or it does nothing, and also set it to open links in new tab on middle click again, and now I can't middle click the links on the "bookmarks bar" just below the URL toolbar and there seems to be no option to hover over bookmark bar links and middle click them. Also, at one point I was able to get your extension to cause my mouse to not work properly OUTSIDE of Chrome, like right clicking stops working until I fool with your extension again, that seems jacked up. If there is a simple way to prevent mouse from middle click auto scroll and do NOTHING else to the functionality of middle click without adding a bunch of extra stuff, lemme know!

  what i had been really is i Love such Amazingly Great/beautiful work hmm well ya know i clearly/obviously Like it by now its very clear and to keep it up also if it Had macros + A voice control feature added To it id say it would very much Become 100% completed nah it wont be perfect Like all things which nothing is though can surely be good enough for any/every 1 That is Looking for anything in the shortcut category im sure it is the Ultimate shortcut extension ive tried 98% by now ive written many down so when i eventually got a computer id have something to switch pages/tabs open urls or with finger/stylus-pen/Mouse gesture with maybe using Touchscreen fn Key doesnt work atm i wish and a clipboard option using either when a text/link/word is Highlight like in blue which is default for all devices it auto sends it into a clipboard List a clipboard Like some lg phones/Tablets and samsuns maybe others but i only used them and i knows them Alone or just HighLight and copy then it goes to ac for backup/syncing getting back your past copied text untill deleted even asigning buttons to em so when ever you click a text box and press whatever button assigned a specific text goes into the box if its focused macros i think should be holding down a button and releasing it or 2 options when released or just plainly record whatever action you wanna record within your chrome browser

I was wondering if there is a way to cycle between chrome windows? I mostly use my Windows PC, but on Mac there is a way with Command Tilde to cycle chrome windows.

  Hi! I have started to use AutoControl to improve navigation using keyboard. Custom shortcuts features offered by this extension clearly outperforms others :) I have noticed significant CPU consumption coming from Native Component Extension that randomly hangs for minutes. Win10 reports that as 20-25%, so full load of single CPU core in my case. Is it normal behaviour? If not - how to perform root cause analysis and configuration changes to finally lower CPU load?

I use a lot of profiles and I have AutoControl configs synced between most of them and I use the Tab Modifier extension to add the name of the profile to the tab title, but it doesn't always work.   Hi there ! ____ Thanks much for the extension first, very very nice ! ____ I was craving the ability to control the volume with my mouse only on several website, wich I can do now thanks to you ! But, it would be even more practical for me if I could direclty control the player sound, not browser or speakers. Also, by verifying my mouse is over the player, I could only use the scroll wheel and get rid of the right clic trigger. Can I do that and just missed how ?   Thank you for your work! I spent years using AutoHotkey to automate IE via a COM object. Unfortantely IE is going away and Chrome / Edge do not have COM objects. I was hoping to be able to, programatically, connect to AutoControl to help automate webscraping. I can see how I could leverage the clipboard to pass one value however I'd like to be able to pass multiple variables to AutoControl. I suppose I could concatenate them and then parse them with JavaScript but was hoping there was a "sexier" option available.   When I am using a dual monitor setup, and I want to close a tab with a mouse gesture, if the window is not actually focused, because the one focused is the one on the other monitor... what happens is that the tab closed is on the other monitor... but, the arrows showing the gestures are being detected, are shown in the tab which I actually meant to close.
