Explore forum structured data through tree visualization
Forum Explorer provides a principled rethinking of the way in which we interact with async threaded conversations on the internet through the use of visualization. This chrome extension radically alters your experience of HackerNews. Rather than viewing threaded conversations as linearized trees, we visualize them as dynamic and interactive trees! This top down view gives a whole new perspective on forum based conversations.
Once you've installed the extension simply point your browser to your favorite hacker news thread (or really any thread) and the extension will get to work reorganizing the page. If you are not sure you want this to be the way that you interact with HackerNews you can try a demo on this webpage https://www.mcnutt.in/forum-explorer
No personal data is collected. We use IndexedDB for client side caching and make use of a cloud micro-service for our topic modeling, but no information is persisted at that location.
