  • (2023-09-05) Jared: exactly what I was looking for, works well and as advertised :-)
  • (2023-03-02) Robert Shaw: This might be okay if you have no more than a couple of hundred bookmarks and simple needs. With more bookmarks, it takes forever to load them (while displaying a misleading message). It also presents only a very temporary subwindow - you can't do anything other than finish your export business immediately; if you say, switch to another app or desktop program, or another tab, you lose the subwindow and you have to start all over again (waiting for it to load bookmarks). There are other extensions that quickly load for export
  • (2023-02-20) Aaron Ramsey: Perfect plugin! It did what it said it does so 5 stars from me. Thank you!
  • (2022-12-26) Rudy Holthuis: Worked great in Chrome. I only wanted to export a folder and it worked perfectly!
  • (2022-11-25) Andus Group: In theory, this is just what I need and agree with other recent reviews. In practice, it starts off with "cannot load bookmarkes"; it's very slow to load bookmarks, the toggles to collapse/open the folders are unresponsive or take a while. I've found I need to wait for everyuthing to load, and I mean to wait, and I dare not move away from the screen. So while very useful and great idea, there are some drawbacks that need attending. Admittedly, I have a LOT of bookmarks; they're virtually my intellectual property and vital to how I operate.
  • (2022-06-20) Danielo Rodríguez: It is a shame that I have to install an extension to add a feature that should be built-in, but at least this extension does what it is supposed to and it's perfect.
  • (2022-05-24) Marfield Bautista: Works great, I do not need to create another account to export a bookmark anymore. Very handy extension.
  • (2022-02-17) 阿玛希儿(Atmaseer): Simple and yet precisely doing the job. A missing function from all the browser, now with this extension, we can freely export bookmarks selectively as we wish, without having to manually editing the html anymore.
  • (2021-07-11) אביב לוי: Exactly what I needed! works great
  • (2021-07-01) Diana Margarit: Exactly what I needed!
  • (2021-02-10) Fazal RahmanPh.D.: Thank you very much for creating this extension. It worked perfectly for me. I am glad I found it. I wasted a lot of time trying various other methods for exporting selected bookmarks. Only yours has worked and it took a very short time.
  • (2021-02-07) Ananstracated: Let me point out what is stupid about Chrome and Chromium projects, is that they never incorporated this feature to begin with, like MS did with IE .. Let's say my folder is Software, it doesn't export just that, it exports, bookmarks bar/software, to the html file. I guess that it okay.. after importing the HTML file that this exports, you get Bookmarks bar/bookmarks bar/software When it first opens it says -- couldn't fetch data -- but give it some time and it will show your links.. Lastly, when you used the tool, it shows all the folders expanded, which I don't care for. I think it would be better if it just show the Tree, like it does in chrome bookmarks manager (left side) navigation pane.
  • (2021-01-07) Jonathon Neville: Not working for you? Wait. It said "Couldn't fetch Bookmark data", despite reloading chrome, but then I read a comment: "I have a little over 100k bookmarks and it took about 60s to load, with that error showing." I came here to give it a 1 star rating, but after reading that comment I waited (leaving the window open), and about 30s later everything appeared. This program could avoid bad ratings if it could replace the words "Couldn't fetch Bookmark data" with something addressing the need to wait.
  • (2020-12-07) Antek Stefaniak: Works as described.
  • (2020-10-26) Irbaz Ahmed: works great
  • (2020-09-28) Jeremy Jesenovec: Was helpful but doesn't export favicons like Chrome export tool does
  • (2020-01-25) Robert Mielewczyk: I wish there was an option to just copy the links to my clipboard or save it as normal text so that I could easily share a bunch of links to my friends on facebook, etc.
  • (2020-01-08) David T: I had the same issue with "couldn't fetch bookmark data" but like others have said you just have to give it 2 mins.
  • (2019-10-17) Yuanyou Xu: Thanks for your work, it helps a lot. But another thing left is to edit the title and path, hope this can be added soon.
  • (2019-08-05) Xedd MrC: Simple and it works just as advertised. Just how I like it. So many extensions try to throw useless junk into their extensions that isn't needed. Glad to finally find one that doesn't and also delivers on its purpose. Thanks!
  • (2019-08-03) Bart van deenen: Works very well, simple no frills. If you're into hiring software developers for this sort of work: hire this person!
  • (2019-07-29) Frank Wang: Simple yet useful. Saves the time to manually edit the exported HTML or playing with any other workaround. Thank you! I understand this is a minimalist tool for now. But if there is a plan for further development, here are some improvement opportunities: - The generated HTML shows the names of all parent folders of the exported subfolder, but the user might want to hide/omit this "path info". The extension should allow the user to show/hide this - Better browse function (search/filter/collapse/expand all or to level 1/2/3...) - extremely useful when there are many folders to choose from - After clicking the button the pop-up says "Couldn't fetch Bookmark Data". But then in a few seconds all bookmarks show up. For better UX the text can say "Fetching bookmarks... Please wait" And only change this message to "Couldn't fetch bookmarks" if it times out (e.g. after 1 min) - Rename the extension to "Export Select Bookmarks" or "Selective Bookmarks Exporter" - I'm not a native English speaker either so I totally understand!
  • (2019-07-24) Boyuan Jia: Same as Ed T, says "couldn't fetch bookmark data".
  • (2019-07-10) Ryan G: Does what it says on the tin. Especially helpful with bookmarks already sorted into various folders. UI is pretty good too
  • (2019-07-06) Doctor Doom: i have a ton of bookmarks like 100's of thousands.. added the extension and it says "couldn't fetch bookmark data" - no instructions, no search function, so this one goes in the trash
  • (2019-06-04) gaurav pasarkar: Simple yet effective.. Just add ability to search bookmarks as well.
  • (2019-05-13) Ankit Arora: Very useful plugin when you need to get a subset of your bookmarks

  • (2023-05-15, v:1.1) David King: How do I use "Export Selected Bookmarks" Chrome extension?
I downloaded the extension from the Chrome Store. It shows as an active, turned "on" extension in my Chrome browser extensions folder. However, I have never seen/don't how to invoke the interface window shown as a screenshot on the Export Selected Bookmarks page in the Chrome store. When I choose "export bookmarks", it still exports all of them . . . How do I view the extension's window in order to use it!? Thanks.
  • (2021-03-05, v:1.1) Tim Curtin: "Couldn't fetch bookmark data"
Hello, I have been getting this error, but I'm not sure why since things worked so well previously. Is there a setting that needs to be selected? Best regards,
  • (2020-08-25, v:1.1) Jason Hemann: Doesn't work if you have no name for the bookmarks
It's frequently useful to have *just* the icon, no name, on bookmarks, so you can squeeze a lot on the bookmarks bar. When you export that, it doesn't work/those aren't included. JBH
  • (2020-08-25, v:1.1) Ananstracated: Duplicate links auto rename
Well, I have seen when importing links back and forth in browsers, it is renaming my links, however if you import to favorites in IE, it may just write over, or offer to rename, don't remember. However when I export links/folders that are the same name in 7zip, it asks me to auto-rename, and then adds a 1 at the end of the name. This is what this should do, and some of the applications I have used, added an extra space between some words to make them different and some added underlines in the spaces to make the names differ... Anyway do something. I can't believe you didn't even think about that, and about poeple who have thousands of links,
  • (2020-08-25, v:1.1) Ananstracated: Post the max bookmarks this can handle.
You should include in overview, the max urls this program can handle. Most editors do, list the max size file. So this extension should list the max links.. I know, it can't handle all my links, and I have over 5000 ++
  • (2020-05-25, v:1.1) Reiner Block: No export possible anymore
Except of a fancy visual reaction that the "Export" button is clicked nothing happens anymore. As it seems this add on isn't supported anymore therefore it would be really great to publish the source code that somebody else can fix this bug.
  • (2020-05-25, v:1.1) Paul Chevalier: favicon support?
Can this also export the associated favicons?

Does not working anymore. I'm using Chrome 77, and "Couldn't fetch Bookmark Data". :(
  • (2019-08-04, v:1.1) Prospero Buccaneer: nothing happening on export
Hi, when I press Export nothing happens, shouldn't a dialog come up to ask for the path to save the file? Thanks for the answer
