Hasta que descubri esta extension despues que habia probado otras que no me agradaron Excelente extension, la configure en modo agresivo y resolvi rapido. Me elimino el pop up y la pagina web no se congelo, tampoco el uBlock. En otras palabras me resolvio. La recomiendo. Ah! free!. Nada como otros que hay que soltar los $.

The setup process is out of this world, with just the right amount of information provided in a very clear and easy to read and understand method. Even this feature of including the number of supporters is brilliant! It made me join and the way the support page was designed was even more brilliant. Der Entwickler hat sich sichtlich Mühe gegeben, denn dieser Blockt Nervige Overlay effektiv und lässt sie verschwinden oder verschiebt sie aus dem Sichtfeld. So werden z.B. Nervige Cookie Consent PopUps aber auch sonstige andere PoPUps erst gar nicht sichtbar oder verschwinden, sofort! Es ist kein Werbeblocker, sondern ein Overlay oder "Modal" Blocker der wirklich, sehr effektiv arbeitet, ich bin wirklich sehr begeistert! Auch die verschiedenen Modi sind wirklich gut gelungen!
• (2023-09-07) Gaurav: Very useful extension and remarkable how only a few clever devs like this guy thought of creating something like this to eliminate the terrible web popups. The few things I found annoying were that its own popup to reload the page appears too quickly out of nowhere and disappears before we can even click it - this is super annoying. Also sometimes the extension breaks when Chrome updates.

• (2023-05-02) Julia Bacik: It works really really well for me, it was just what I needed. The constant pop-ups used to overwhelm me easily and slow down my research a lot. This extension is quiet and hidden, a great QoL piece. The only thing that bothers me is I can't upload files to websites (social media, online converters) by dragging them and dropping, even in dormant mode :(
• (2023-04-28) Dmitriy Ritz: Thought I am finally found the extension that does-it-all. Very soon after installation I started to realize that I still need to use AdBlock. After using the extension for a few days I noticed that I have to manually disable it on almost all websites I’m using because it blocked more than half of the essential scripts. Also, the interface is very outdated. The last update of the extension was 3 (!) years ago. I am confident that the potential of this extension is huge but the developer needs to monitor the issues and update the extension much more frequently. I’d like to thank the developer tho - I truly believe this extension my become #1 in it’s category

Gone are the days (and the overlays and pop-ups) when you could block the irritations manually one at a time. Now they're persistent, prevalent and aggravating to the point of distraction. You'd spend a minute reading an article only to be constantly nudged by annoyances. You can set this extension to aggressive mode and voilà... the irritations gone. Highly recommended. 10 out of 10.

• (2022-04-14) Anthony Congiano: Works extremely well on even the most aggravating site's overlays. The settings options help, if the overlay popups and redirects keep happening, just move up the settings from Dormant to moderate, or to aggressive.
• (2022-03-11) Steven Herrmann: I read the instructions, I put aggressive and anti-paid on and it still doesn't remove the paywall for NYT! A few times it seemed like it worked for 5 seconds or so and then it came right back on preventing me from reading! I tried a combination of every setting, no luck! I don't like giving bad ratings so I still gave this 5 stars lol! But there are a lot of good reviews so hopefully im doing something wrong and the dev or someone can reply and help me! Thanks! 😊

• (2021-12-22) Mark Gerber: This is the best pop up blocker I have ever used. Until I now I had 3 or 4 pop up blockers installed and I still got loads of pop ups. This one is finally blocking all those idiotic pop ups. So many websites try to stop you from leaving with a pop up that asks if you are sure you want leave. Of course I want to leave when I close the window. This extension takes care of that. This extension was sorely needed and you can be certain that I will be spreading the word. @Romanist Here, thank you so much for this great extension.

Changing back to 5 stars. Update 2021-08-25: Why does this app require access to my browsing history? I love it, but I won't use it if it's harvesting my data... Please explain? It works too well sometimes. I keep it on 'Moderate' level, but at least once or twice a week it will end up blocking a dropdown menu or a necessary pop-up from one of my banking websites. Then it'll take me a few seconds to remember that its probably this add-on which is causing the issue, so I'll set it to 'Dormant' and then the issue is resolved. There's not much that can be done about this, since the add-on is working as intended. Although perhaps you could add all the major banking websites to the default whitelist?

• (2021-06-10) Sir Anthony: Defiantly stops those aggravating overlay popups. I set it to manual so that if a site has hidden overlays (where I click anywhere but the click activates a new redirect or malware webpage) it gets stopped but it won't affect legitimate forwards. Works effectively well!

Dormant mode is very friendly to all the day to day websites (e.g., banking) and moderate or aggressive modes are needed for few news websites with annoying popups. Developer promptly responds to your feedback or questions. I wish I found it sooner!

  I installed Popupoff for using 1 site that had annoying and dangerous overlay popups: eztv.re Even in Aggressive mode it is still launching new tabs with ads, on most of the elements. Many of the ads trigger avast antivirus. If you research sites that can beat your extension, this would be a good candidate.
