The key is that you need to be on the website you want to customise when you click on the extension. Then, simply select “Change Icon,” upload your preferred icon, and click “Add Rule.” I was a bit confused at first too—I thought it wasn’t working! But once I figured it out, it was straightforward. Keep up the good work !!! ( this app doesn't claim to get favicons... You can use any icon or png file with a picture for displaying as the website you want it . For myself, I do capture (part) of pictures from the website I need the favicon for, and save it as JPG first, then convert it to .ico or .png. Until now, I always got the results I wanted......)
• (2025-01-21) callanyonefrompc: There might have been problems with the extension, but I emailed the developer and they are probably fixed now in version 5.2 that was released on Jan 19, 2025. If you encounter any more problems, just contact the developer. He seems like a nice guy.

• (2024-10-29) Zee Glu: I saw a post from someone thinking the extension does not work. I initially thought so as well, however found that you have to open the extension itself. From within the extension app window, it gives you a list of your bookmarks. That is where you can right-click etc. Hopefully this helps anyone else who starts out by right clicking their actual bookmarks instead of opening the app, then selecting the bookmarks from there.
• (2024-10-27) John Bostrom: Zero stars if I could post that way. Because what the article says is just not true, as of October 26 2924. The menu that comes up when you right-click a menu icon does NOT offer ANYTHING referring to Favicons at all. Not Change, not Reset, not Export. Nothing. I remember there used to be something like this, but now you're stuck with the favicon you've got.

• (2024-06-24) Jad: Thank you for the recent update/modernization into Manifest V3. I decided to delete the old and "rebuild" the settings in the new extension. Everything so far working great! I note you didn't include the "backup" feature - I used this to transfer settings from one browser to another (I use both Chrome and Edge). If you are able to add back in, backup and restore were useful. Thank you again for your work!

Critical flaw I even tried setting up one and now the buttons to add them no longer work. (even the help button) Whatever changes were made for manifestv3 they broke it. It's useless to me now

Very simple and easy to use, and even better when you see that the last update was nearly a decade ago; this thing works as if it were released yesterday! Great job making something that can stand for so long, I recommend it to anyone looking for Favicon changers.

Es findet irgendwann (schnell) z.B. ein YT Video was eigentlich geht aber er sieht einen Fehler darin. Dann darf das ganze von Vorne starten :( schade wäre sonst genial da Chrome bei jedem Umzug Alles favicons verliert.

I clicked on this extension and then chose Change Favicon, selected an image, and opened it. The icon on the tab changed, but not the one on the bookmarks bar. When I clicked on the bookmark In the bookmarks bar, the icon reverted to the previous one. I tried another favicon changer, and it was very straightforward, beginning with browse for an image. I would give this one star, but I suspect that I was doing something wrong. Having said that, I used an obvious navigation in the extension and nothing happened.
