Authenticator

Very useful and practical if you want to be able to do TOTP (time-based) 2FA on your PC without your phone. Its help site is unfortunately down, but you can get the hang of it easily.

i dont have a mobile phone and using this from last 8 months, works flawlessly for me, i connected it to my google account with the extenstion, i uninstalled chrome multiple times and when i reninstall it brings the old verifaction autmatically , no problem everyone should try , you can bet on it

secretkey I entered two different applications, and both show different results. I do not recommend it.

Worst thing google has done, it's seems too much difficulties to login my daily accounts.. not recommend ..

The authenticator is TERRIBLE. It is impossible to add to it. Google should not have made it this difficult. Do NOT recommend.

not explained well how to connect a login with the browser extension

Last update made it very slow to open. Please fix it !

Everything went perfect... until it deleted just the most used token and show instead a message "do you have a backup? don't wait until it's late" But now it's late. I can't use the code it deleted by itself.

Authenticator CC should have stated in no uncertain terms that its codes can be carried over via google profiles.

Works well, no issues so far.

Has been working flawlessly since I started using it a little over a year ago.

If you can use another authenticator use it, don't bother with this one. I have a problem with the codes being generated not matching those on the site that I want to access meaning that I can't get in. I sent the problem to the developer a three days ago, am still waiting for a response. Not the kind of service that you expect from Google. Only gave it 1 star because you don't have the option to give zero stars.

Great open-source 2FA extension — 5 stars for being transparent and community-driven. One suggestion: make it lighter by removing fancy features like cloud backups to Google Drive or OneDrive. A simple “export to local file” option would be enough, and more reliable. Right now those cloud backup buttons don’t seem to work for me. Keep it simple and fast!

Backup process is very obscure and there is no obvious and clea migration available for example when installing authenticator to new browser

Best Authenticator from my POV. I would be grateful if there was sync support for Android and IOS as well.

This works great. Not sure what one of the previous reviewers was on about. I managed to migrate all of the accounts in my Google authenticator into this extension. Auto-insert works well too, no need to cut and paste the codes, they get automatically inserted.

Absolute trash. If you think this is the same as the Google Auth app, unfortunately based on this teams description of the extension, you will not be happy. How uneducated do you have to be to try and advertise this as the Google Auth app and it be absolute trash? Let me guess, it was a "agile" project led by junior "project manager" with intern BA's and "full stack developers". Was it also built in AngularJS? Or JQuery?

The extension disable and inactive in chrome is there any chance it can be enable back

works absolutely great and easy to setup on Mac and Windows PCs ! You just MUST sync it EXACTLY with your Google or Microsoft Authenticator Accounts (or other Auth OTP Apps) like your are told in the install tips , otherwise you get wrong/different /other codes as expected !!! This to know is VERY important and essential !!! As always users don't absolute exactly follow the installation hints of their addons and blame the developer later.

Had to get it for DCS. MAN what a POS. Want to discourage customers from using your site all you need do is use this app.

The following extension proved to be incapable ofunderstanding, it was very hard to understand, but once I did understand, I still got invalid codes,(I use it for my guns.lol and I have lost my acc thanks to you)

I've used it for years, across multiple jobs and projects. So simple.

My computer tells me I already have Authenticator, that's great if I could find it.

Reset my pc, extension reinstalled with all my saved auth codes, they still show, but now they are all invalid no matter how many times i try, (across all websites) another person had the same issue "all 2fa codes are wrong"

It does what it is supposed to do and it also works with QR codes from google as well. I like it thanks

ive been using this for a bout a year, it's been working pretty well. im happy this is a free extension and easy to use. if you're confused issuer is the name you choose for the authenticator and the secret is the id. im not planning on using it for anything huge, but for other things like roblox, perfectly fine.

Excellent security tool, works very well. The only major issue is that newer backup files are not being updated with the new account codes, to get the latest backup files just make sure to download Password Protected Backup.

Works fine. I have no problems with it.

Been working perfectly for me for approx. 1 year now, but i wouldn't trust it with anything huge but for something like Roblox trading it works perfectly (would rather lose 20$ than my tax documents) no complaints, just be cautious with accounts with tax documents, birth certificates ect, and use something more trustworthy like google authenticator or something for that they did nothing wrong to me, just to be sure it would be better to use something more trustworthy ex straight from google (worst case they will eat all of your ram XD) thanks for reading, good luck with your account safety journey :))))

i signed into a google account, and when i got back i lost every single 2fa code i had, everything was wiped and im not longer able to retrieve it, ive spent the last 3 hours contacting supports trying to get my 2fa's reset

Appreciate this free and open source extension! Google Authenticator account can absolutely be imported. On the phone go to transfer codes -> Export Codes (Create QR code), choose code to export, then take a screenshot of the QR code. Send screenshot to the Chrome machine and open it (really easy if you have Google Photos configured to backup screenshot). Open Authenticator extension and select add account. Draw box around the QR code screenshot and all done! Perfectly synced with the Phone Google Authenticator code. Thank you!

I have been using this app for years, it was so convenient, and then today all my codes are broken. i have not been able to sign in to one account using this. i have to recover all of them and rebuild them. maybe you did an update, but it broke all my accounts.

Frustrating how it tells you the code expired less than one second after the code has refreshed. You have one job...

Simple and excellent.
