- (2024-08-08) Luke: DDG has been a great addition to increasing one's privacy, and I applaud their stance on not collecting, storing, using, or selling personal information. Unfortunately, the "generate a private email address" option is stuck with the same private email address it generated a long time ago and will not generate new ones. It just produces the same one every time. Also, the extension is too "all or nothing." DDG breaks certain sites and doesn't allow content like reviews and discussions on other sites. Take a cue from the uBlock Origin extension and allow an easy to use single-click white list for sites.

I do not want anyone to track me or know what I have been looking at, and then send me dozens of ads and other stuff to complicate my life. To learn that Google are recording my searches and selling my personal data and information to advertisers and Dark Web users is truly outrageous and damned inconvenient. Plus it could cost me money. I do not want my identity stolen. DDG is the BEST. I have had NO problems with the Extension at all. I do not want to use Duck Duck go as my search engine as it returns results that are not so good for me. So I have to keep enabling, and disabling the plugin. their developers blame google. Thats just lazy...

В сущности, известный "информационный пузырь". Да, это расширение вывело меня из пузыря за пределы истории моих поисковых запросов и моего местоположения. Первый раз я испробовал поиск DuckDuckGo, когда искал информацию о баристорах в нужном для меня значении слова (технический термин). Этим поисковиком нашел, но лучший результат оказался у Яндекса, хотя и ему присущ информационный пузырь. Сегодня, установив расширение от Утки, я провел поиск по тому же баристору, Гуглом (без расширения) и даковским поисковиком. И Гугл оказался лучше! Не удивительно, поскольку он в ответ на критику пользователей улучшил алгоритм, чтобы уменьшить влияние перечисленных выше факторов. Кроме того в целом выдача от Гугла оказалась более организованной и системной, на одной странице больше результатов и она более удобочитаема, чем даковская. Очень плохое впечатление от последней. И Дак не понимает даже элементов от SQL запросов.Плюс за Гуглом стоит целая информационная среда (система), чего Дак вряд ли достигнет. Реклама и трекеры. Эффект от Дака есть и несомненный. Я постоянно пользуюсь одним весьма сложным (по графике, ссылкам и т.п. сайтом. Не буду называть из конфеденциальности. Под Даком он загрузился почти вдвое(!) скорее. Рекламные ссылки гасит хорошо, чуть хуже моего блокировщика. При просмотре видео на YouTube из 94 рекламных и прочих ссылок Дак отключил 70 и а блокировщик - оставшихся 24. Хотя не факт, что блокировщик обнаружил их все. Оперативная память. Занимает и резервирует до 20-25 МБ. Стоит того? Не уверен. В общем, я пришел к выводу, что мне это расширение ни к чему. Анонимность? Да что вы! Вся наша история и грехи лежат на серверах наших провайдеров. Потому колебался между оценкой в 3 и 4. Но за лапшу в поисковой выдаче решил поставить 3. И за смысловую лапшу и за ссылку на "Лапша" при поиске "баристора"

However, it is causing dates to appear incorrectly in Zoho CRM - I eventually figured out DDG was the Google Chrome extension causing the problem and have had to disable this great browser extension completely because of this. I wish this extension allowed me to somehow exclude specific sites when the extension causes an issue. I hope DuckDuckGo gives us this option in the future and I will revise my review to five stars

I like that I didn't have to think about all the advertisements and stuff that I may be targeted with, but over the past week or so, it has become disappointing. It slows down and gives me that a search cannot be completed, it won't reload, and I repeatedly have to check my connections to see if it's my wireless or the program. I don't know if the servers have been off line, but I can't do my work from home with these interruptions in data flow, so I'm having to stop using the extension until DuckDuckGo can get their stuff together.

Malgré que celle-ci indique que les urls locales sont bien désactivées, DuckDuckgo continue de bloquer les urls sur localhost ! Même si j'ajoute 127.0.0.1, celui-ci bloque toujours localhost et 127.0.0.1 Cela fonctionne bien sur les urls non locales (comme les serveurs de production) une fois ajoutées dans les paramètres de l'application. Il reste cependant que l'extension bloque des urls faux positif ! Cela se produit que depuis 2 semaines/1-2 mois max

Multiple critical assets like "/public/digital-experience/js/common.js" are blocked unnecessarily and if it is blocked functionality of the website is affected. There is no customer support option to relay these concerns.
