Save bookmarks faster by just typing the name of the folder you want to save it to.
Fast Bookmark helps you to save bookmarks faster. If you want to save a new bookmark into one of your bookmark folders or into a new bookmark folder it takes a few clicks to choose the folder. For people who save a lot of bookmarks and want to keep them organized in folders this can be quite tedious.
Fast Bookmark provides an autocomplete input field to easily choose the right folder for the new bookmark. Just open Fast Bookmark (best is to set a shortcut to open the extension, e.g. CTRL+Shift+S), start typing the name of the folder and hit enter. Finished.
Creating a new folder is super easy as well: Just type "> my-new-folder" and Fast Bookmark will create a new folder with the name "my-new-folder" and save the bookmark into it.
Creating subfolders is possible as well: For example type "Technology > my-new-subfolder" and Fast Bookmark will create a new subfolder with the name "my-new-folder" within the folder with the name "Techology" and save the bookmark into it.

Simple idea yet super effective. Sadly it does not work in Chrome recently. Fortunately, the open source version still works in Chrome. https://github.com/minff/fast-bookmark
This was pretty simple. It let you search a name for a folder and bookmark your page right within that folder. It helps a lot when one has too many folders and is disorganized. I relied on this and I think the only thing I don't like is that it didn't work offline. If my internet went down, I couldn't use this at all. I don't understand why it was designed this way. At first thought, I'd think they're gathering my data but I really don't know.
This extension is perfect and does exactly what I need. Shame Google have stopped this extension working. There is only one other alternative extension and that one is awful and does not work right. Typical of Google to change their products so things stop working and people have to suffer. If only the developer of this extension would modify it so it meets the MV3 compatibility that Google now demand.

Chrome recently updated removing their normal bookmark dialogue, this is a good alternative since you can't change any setting to go back for Chrome. A couple things I would like would be 1) to default to whatever you last saved a bookmark to (and I can just click submit), and 2) to sort the list of folder by how recently they were last saved to. This would 1) save needing to choose a folder to save to if you consistently bookmark to a single folder more than others, and 2) would save the need to scroll down as much when you need to actually select a folder. Otherwise, this works great.
Can you flip the view so it shows the title on top and the folder below please? I typically need to rename the bookmark before saving and you can't see what it will save as with the current setup. If you could still keep the initial focus on the folder selection the app would be perfect. Thank you!
This is what i was looking for ages. I hate original chrome system when i have to save bookmark and then it automatically closes...have to reopen it to rename. This fixes it and I can rename saved bookmark first. Cant thank You enough for this man. 10 stars.

Thank you very much, it the most useful extension so far, at least for me. Hated the stock bookmark manager so much but this completely change the experience.

Unfortunately not showing a collapsable folder tree. I have many subfolders and need to collapse them. At least it shows the folder path in brackets. Anyway a plain folder list is not suitable for me.

+ better than "better bookmark" because it shows the path of the folder being targeted too (useful if you have multiple folders with the same name in different parts of the directory tree)

Amazing because I have a lot of bookmarks it is awesome - Please update the form to make the bookmark title then the folder (there are some comments about that like Sylvia`s comment ) -Please add option for override ctrl+D Shortcut.

Good. Implementing folder trees/structure (when multiple search results) would be better. At the moment it's unusable if you have several folders with the same name.

excellent but can you not get it to take over the focus? I use this all the time. Update: downgraded to 4*. It's very good, has saved me much time but I have found one that is even better.

I was a previous user of Booklight. The reason for the switch was due to the way the extension handle the showing of popup by modifying the site HTML/DOM is a bit intrusive. This has introduced some side-effects to page loading speed. Fast Bookmark is 'almost' perfect for my use case. It would be perfect if you add an option to show not only the folders but their parent folders too. Currently I have lots of folders with the same names, just in different parts of the tree, making it impossible to know which is which. UI-wise, I suggest to show the folder as tag or something more intuitive. Thank you.
