Simple end-to-end encryption to secure email and attachments on Google.
🟢 A simple end-to-end encryption to secure your emails and attachments on Google, including Google Workspace, Business, and Enterprise using OpenPGP.
🟢 FlowCrypt lets you use PGP encryption by generating a private and public key. It uses the recipient’s public key to encrypt the email, and only the recipient’s private key can decrypt the message and reveal its content.
🟢 Adds a Secure Compose button to Gmail, allowing you to send private PGP-encrypted emails when you choose to.
🟢 We update the extension regularly (see the "Updated" field to the right).
FlowCrypt allows you to:
✔ Set up the extension in just a few clicks.
✔ Generate private keys using the ECC and RSA (up to 4096-bit) algorithms.
✔ Use FlowCrypt’s own Attester public key server.
✔ Send and receive encrypted emails and attachments (up to 25MB, with previewing functionality) to anyone.
✔ Send and receive encrypted emails directly or through Encrypted Contact Page.
✔ Send password-protected emails to the recipient who doesn’t have any OpenPGP software (as well as receive such emails).
✔ Sign encrypted emails to let your recipients verify that the message is from you and that the content hasn’t been modified.

- (2023-10-04) Ralph DiZazzo: I sent a test email 50 minutes ago and it has not yet been received. Tried again and it has been 15 minutes and not received also. This is disapointing
- (2023-09-26) Edward Boot: Does not work at all, gets stuck in a Google sign in page loop, wasted of time installing and trying to fix.
- (2023-09-10) Nathan Palmer: I liked this extension when I used it in the past. However, it does not work with Google's Advanced Protection service. I really wish that Google would allow this app for those that are enrolled in the Advanced Protection Program. The inability to use this app under that service really irritates me.
- (2023-06-16) `: This software is already obsolete. No support response, no update nor no severe security fix. In addition, hardcoded part is also too old, so many functions don't work. To keep your pgp/gpg providing security, this is already dead. We need other open sourse fine pgp/gpg frontend for gmail. I completely disappointed this front end of pgp/gpg. Especially, this extention breaks our pgp/gpg encryped or signed email. At this moment, we must call it non-secure ware just saying itself sesure, unfortunately this is same as malware. Do not use it.
- (2022-08-22) Андрей Юрьевич Косолапов адвокат (Адвокат): Крутая вещь
- (2021-12-10) Irving BigDaddy Eskenazi: I just recently started using , and as others have said the onboarding process is seamless so for now four stars , I will revisit after some testing. A big thanks to the dev team @ FlowCrypt.)
- (2021-07-27) Ashok Acharya: No undo in secure composed emails. Just started using it, there is no undo after email is sent for a certain time (seconds). would be a good feature. Thanks.
- (2021-04-20) ItIs Me: It's a nice extension but it is reserved for experts on encryption like me <: Just kidding everyone can use it and it is a really helpful extension. I send AES-256 bit encrypted files with a software like this. Yes I said software. This is like one.
- (2021-04-20) Sebastian Löffler: Lässt sich superschnell und einfach einrichten.
- (2021-04-05) Olly Stedall: Very easy to use. It loses a star because it does not yet support autocrypt, particularly sending autocrypt headers. I'd also really like to see the compose encrypted mail interface replace the regular compose mail interface (particularly when it comes to Gmail shortcuts). Since the new interface can also send mail unencrypted, I don't need both. It would make the UI cleaner.
- (2021-01-13) Blue Collar Money: Very pleased that I can use something like this for my small business. Thanks for helping secure our Gmail account because so many people use Gmail and it still comes off as a professional extension for emails. -JR
- (2020-11-17) Brian Murrell (Brian J. Murrell): The UI is decent but there are some serious functional issues with it. Their (hard-coded) key server doesn't seem to find keys in the other key servers it claims to look in. Their key server and/or UI doesn't seem to handle multiple keys that match a given recipient in public key servers. There is no ability to choose one and It's unclear how it's even choosing the key it chooses to use when multiple exist. I would have assumed newest key of highest strength, or most signatures, etc. but neither of those are the case. With these key server issues, the extension is not useful for all but very narrow use-cases. I've contacted support about these issues but the only one response I got back was pretty lack-luster and my followup has gone unanswered. So TL;DR: I cannot recommend this extension.
- (2020-09-18) Marcelo Silva: I've been looking for a way to send encrypted emails to a loan officer and I'm so glad I found this extension. This is the answer to all my problems, easy to use and it doesn't require the other party to install it. 6 stars !!!
- (2020-06-30) Carlos Blanco: Muy cómodo y sencillo de utilizar.
- (2020-06-29) Ralf Müller: So happy to find this. I lknow PGP for long time, but lost hope it would finally make it into Gmail. Here we are! Easy install, works great.
- (2020-06-29) Willem Grant: This extension is a PGP encryption tool that doesn't suck. It's very easy to use and also is quite secure. Tip: spread the word! If you don't do that, you won't have anyone to securely email!
- (2020-06-26) Dustin Runnells: Awesome way to integrate PGP into Gmail! I'm using the Android app plus the chrome extension with great results!
- (2020-04-14) Awesome. Nothing else needing to be said.

- (2020-01-16) Alvin Xiao: it works really well with my emails. perfect pranks too :)
- (2020-01-10) Gerry Wiener: Just started using FlowCrypt and found the UI delightfully easy to use. I previously used pgp's interface on the Mac -- I rarely used it since the setup and usage was challenging for myself and others. Folks at FlowCrypt are extremely responsive. I'm recommending to my coworkers and friends.
- (2020-01-04) Marco H.: This app is working great both on Android and in the Chrome-Browser and makes it very easy to use PGP encryption within Gmail. Setup is done in just a few clicks and it is even possible to import your own private keys and to encrypt attachments. Moreover, the customer support is great and so far all of my requests have been answered within a day. Great work!
- (2020-01-02) David Allen Wizardgold: Excellent solution for encryption of emails. I'd like to see a functioning version to use on iOS
- (2019-12-20) Louie James: An exceptional, incredibly cool product. It just--works, no hassles. If you use Thunderbird and install gpg4win and the enigmail extension for that, FlowCrypt on Gmail works with Thunderbird too. Support staff are very helpful, even with the free version, which in itself is very pleasantly surprising. I couldn't recommend this extension more highly as a encryption solution for Gmail.
- (2019-12-10) Mashiur Rahaman Leon: why it needs too much permission and it can read my browser data and also can change it permission???
- (2019-11-26) Easy to use, amazing features, works like a charm!
- (2019-11-05) Christos Derventlis: I've had some questions and sent an email to the developer, they replied in less than 24h with a detailed and very helpful response. 5 stars from me! PS: please consider translating in Greek, too.
- (2019-11-04) Daslol25s: fabulous!!!
- (2019-10-16) Peter Lohuaru: Easy to use and good tech support
- (2019-09-18) Вадим Огородов: Thank you. Awesome app with good old PGP. Still waiting for Google Disk encryption. Go ahead!
- (2019-09-09) Elena Fours: The developer is fast to respond, however the app itself is buggy. The settings dialog is not getting opened with Firefox extension. I would highly recommend the Mailvelop as more mature and feature rich option.
- (2019-07-12) Yngve Benning: Looked like a good solution but noticed that its located in Hong Kong.. So Hopefully The Chinese try to help people to protect their info from US/Sionist terror org..
- (2019-06-27) Bekele Debisa: It is just incredible.
- (2019-06-16) Manuel Meurer: Fantastic tool that helped me decrypt an email sent to me and send my first encrypted email myself. I didn't expect that such a seamless integration into the Gmail interface was even possible... all thumbs up!
- (2019-06-10) Gregory Rudolph: Incredibly easy to use and set up, and on top of that- any time I have an issue the developer will contact me directly to help me resolve it! I use FlowCrypt for Android as well, can't wait to see how it progresses.
- (2019-05-24) Ryan McGinnis: A great idea executed fairly well. Works as it should. Would be good to get a security audit on it from someone, as GPG tends to only be used by people who really need it and as such the application layer is often targeted. The application has a hard time correctly deciphering signatures from a lot of other typical GPG client configurations; not sure what the issue is but the developer is working on it. The application also seems to want to do everything the old ASCII armor way, which no other clients default to any more. There isn't even an option to use GPG/MIME. The net effect of this is that signing messages results in an unsightly mess when sent to people with typical email clients. PGP / GPG is mostly a dead concept these days, which is a shame. Hopefully plugins like this will make it more readily available to typical users.
- (2019-05-20) Oskars Feldmanis: Perfectly integrated and "just works", enabling privacy (PGP) without the need for technical knowledge.
- (2019-05-19) Tom Gilmer: Super easy to use and works as seamlessly as you would expect. As a long time PGP user mail encryption add-ons have been notoriously hit or miss and still require large user interaction. Flowcrypt just works.
- (2019-05-18) Andre Rodriguez: cool
- (2019-04-23) Jim Strother: Makes it simple to use PGP encryption in your emails.
- (2019-04-12) Miles Walz-Salvador: Works well and is easy to use! I highly recommend for those who want to make sure only certain people obtain access to their emails. Plus... they may or may not have robots that where blue sandals working for them... Amazing!
- (2019-04-02) Tom: Excellent extension that makes encrypting your Gmail super easy. It detects encrypted content and automatically decrypts it, so using it involves nothing more than either generating or uploading a PGP key, which is stored locally so your key remains safe, and then using your Gmail as normal. The personal contact page that lets people that don't understand anything about encryption send you secure messages and attachments is a great idea and so convenient. That's really very useful - no more conversations trying to explain to someone how to generate a key and use the command line to encrypt something. Super fast and helpful support too. Top class all round.
- (2019-03-15) Easy to use. I love the ability to add encrypted attachments and have emails seamlessly encrypt and decrypt for me. I like comparing the keys to those on keybase.io as a second verification step before I send. I would really love a feature to manually specify a key to use to send to an email, even if it already has an associated key. Also, the ability to see the fingerprint of the person's key while sending/receiving would help with verifying things.
- (2019-03-12) Omega Nine: Всё норм. Очень удобно.
