Unload, park, suspend tabs to reduce memory footprint of chrome.
Tabs can auto-suspend after a configurable period of time or be suspended manually. Tabs can be whitelisted to avoid automatic suspension. Suspended tabs are retained after closing and reopening browser, preventing many tabs from all reloading after a restart. Very simple, intuitive interface.
Universal Suspender is a lightweight chrome extension to help reduce chrome's memory footprint for users that like to have too many tabs open at the same time. This extension will automagically unload each tab while retaining its favicon and title text. A tab can be restored by clicking anywhere on the page when it is needed. This reduces the number of dom elements on the page and ensures no memory leaks or excessive javascripts are running.

Love it, but it's a rip-off of The Great Suspender. No icon appears on my bar, it's an empty space; perhaps you might want to check on that.
It halted my browser for minutes, went thru all open tabs and suspended it on first run. What a hell? When I click on tab I see "chrome-extension://klbibkeccnjlkjkiokjodocebajanakg/suspended.html#ttl=https%3A%2F%2Fstackoverflow.com%" as url and "klbibkeccnjlkjkiokjodocebajanakg is blockedRequests to the server have been blocked by an extension." What a hell [2]?
Working nicely, all needed customizations are implemented. The only bug what I see that the add-on icon does not appear on the Chrome menu. Ok, "Suspend other tabs" does not work correctly, if I have a lot of tabs open. I had to do it one by one manually.
