Description from store Ideal for headset users, PandoraVR is an add-on for Pandora™ in Chrome that enables you to control your station using voice commands. --- UPDATES: 2014-02-16 Current Users: Please re-enable this extension, as permissions have changed! New for version 0.2, you may be asked if you would like to participate in a petition to encourage Pandora Media, Inc. to integrate PandoraVR as a native feature. That would mean no more Chrome extension. But that's OK! It would be much better to get this awesome tool as a built-in part of your online radio experience. You can learn more and sign the petition here: http://www.change.org/petitions/pandora-media-inc-integrate-pandoravr-as-a-native-feature Also, see below for information that explains how this extension protects your privacy. --- Are you working away from your desk, but can't stand the current track? Just tell Pandora to skip it by saying, "Pandora: skip," or "Pandora: thumbs down." PandoraVR supports commands for each of your primary Pandora™ functions: Pause, play, skip, thumb up, and thumb down. You can activate them by saying any of the following commands. To like the current track, say: "Pandora: thumbs up." To downvote the current track, say: "Pandora: thumbs down." To skip the current track, say: "Pandora: skip," or, "Pandora: next." To pause the current track, say: "Pandora: pause," or, "Pandora: stop." To play or resume the current track, say: "Pandora: play," or, "Pandora: resume." This extension is easy to use, and truly convenient. It's a must-have add-on for Pandora™ that really adds value to your listening experience. --- Setup Instructions ================== Once installed, it will automatically activate whenever you visit Pandora. You must be connected to Pandora over a secure connection. If not, you will be prompted to do so; a notice will appear in your track window that allows you to switch to secure mode. You will only be asked once. You may also be asked, only once, to allow the use of your microphone. Once granted, that permission will be remembered, so that you can instantly start speaking commands to Pandora in the future. --- FAQ === How do I get started? Just follow the Setup Instructions guide above. How do I know it's working? On the icon of your Pandora tab in Chrome, you should see a red dot. This indicates that PandoraVR is listening for your commands. You can also see the status above your current track. My commands are not working. Why? Refer to the product description above for a list of available commands. Depending on your environment and the quality of your microphone, it may be difficult for PandoraVR to understand what you are saying. If you have trouble, try to speak slowly and clearly. Remember, PandoraVR will not listen to you unless you first command its attention by saying, "Pandora." How can I change the station? At this time there is no support for changing stations with PandoraVR. Plans are being made to introduce this feature in a later version. --- DISCLAIMER PandoraVR is not affiliated with Pandora Media, Inc. • (2017-05-03) Mave Dex: I couldn't find the microphone icon on the pandora.com website tab that presents the pause/play/skip/soundbar buttons. I calculate I was unable to activate the Pandora Voice Recognition extension because of this and am left feeling unsatisfied.
  • (2016-04-18) Albert Portnoy: Add a voice notification for when commands are accepted. Example: Me: Panora, Thumbs up Pandora VR: Thumbs up added to this song
  • (2016-02-20) Greg Howells: Every time I said " Pandora thumbs up", the song gets a "thumbs down." How in the world is that helpful? Saying bye bye to this extension.
  • (2015-05-12) Geoffrey Barber: Enunciate. If you do that, you shouldn't have any problems.
  • (2014-11-24) Joseph Dougherty: Super helpful for gaming
  • (2014-11-10) Brent Marnati: Currently some issues with recognizing commands properly. The majority of what I say is recognized as "Pandora: Thumbs Down" regardless of whether it's through my built in mic or my headset. Other than that, it's a great idea.
  • (2014-02-05) Tyler Nichols: Awesome
