Hi everyone! Page Ruler has been a great tool for the last years, however a few weeks ago the creator of the extension transferred ownership of the extension due to time constraints.
So far good right? NOPE! It turns out that the new owner added mixpanel.js to the extension, this is a analytics and ads tracking script that now also steals passwords and sensitive data.

So I have forked the code and I'm gonna to improve and maintain this new version as this tool has been a must have for me as a web developer, it will be free and I’m setting up the repository on github, I also have updated a few things based on the issues and upgrades that the community had posted on the old extension repository.
I’m very open to hear changes, new features and bugs so we as a community we can continue con the development of this useful tool, I’m gonna port it to firefox too, HOWEVER bear in mind that I got a job, family and life so I’m gonna be setting all the basics in the few days to come, for now this it’s just a very bare bones, uncomplete rebrand of the extension while I set up some roadmap for this project.

Page Ruler lets your draw out a ruler to any page and displays the width, height and position of it.
Features

* Draw a ruler to any page and view the width, height and top, bottom, left and right position
* Drag the edges of the ruler to resize it
* Use the arrow keys to move and resize the ruler
* Show guides extending from the ruler edges
* Manually update the size and position of the ruler from the toolbar to make precision changes
* Enable "Element Mode" to outline elements on the page as you move your mouse over them
* Navigate through parents, children and sibling elements of any measured element

To use on local pages you will need to enable the "allow access to file URLs" option in your extensions tab

outdated extension
I was about to give it 5 star but i noticed it doesn't work on local or shared files opened with browser. I downloaded this for development reasons... Still big thumbs up for this work!

I've only started using this and so I still need to learn the ins and outs of the extension. What I have used so far, I LOVE! I have been searching for a tool like this for a while and am glad that I found this. I know we can just go to Inspect mode in any Chrome page but this makes the work 100% easier by letting you select spaces and elements within the page without having to look through code or CSS. Incredible tool! Also incredible is how this dev has provided this for free. Amazing!
Exactly what I wanted. This is awesome. Previously I used another plugin but this one is so gorgeous. Keep up good work

chưa có thay đổi được ngôn ngữ cho extensions, nên hơi tiếc... Mình setting Browser là Tiếng Việt và nó cũng hiển thị Tiếng Việt luôn, muốn chuyển sang tiếng Anh mà không biết làm như nào ngoài các setting Browser :((((
