WikiTree X

I find this extension so useful for importing my family tree and for updating old profiles. One improvement I would like to see is the ability to bring across a fuller source link, but it does enough to get a profile started.

Doesn't work the way the description says, only "Update an Existing WikiTree Profile" using ancestry/ FamilySearch source proforms currently Create Related or Unrelated WikiTree Profile from ID doesn't work on my computer (it was working over a year ago), when I push "Go" it takes me to an empty create a new profile form with no data automatically entered

As someone noted, this doesn't transfer the actual data sources, but has a link to the profile on FamilySearch which has the sources. Wikitree also misses some of the exclusionary data that would prevent false matches (like matching someone who was born and died in 1809 with someone in the 1870 census) but overall, excellent! Good work, thank you!!

Seems like it would be quite useful if it worked on MyHeritage. Unfortunately, all it does is open up an empty edit page with no info carried over. Might as well not bother.

makes it so esy to add sources

I love this extension and it makes my family tree work so much easier. My #1 recommendation is to make this copy source links from FamilySearch profiles rather than just link the profile. That'd make it incredible.

Wonderful tool. One reviewer gave only four stars saying 'room for improvement.' Not sure what he meant and any product can be improved but even without improvements it deserves all five stars. Easy to use, flexible, saves a lot of work.

What a great app! I use it all the time, would highly reccomend to anybody who is serious about extending their tree.

OMG I LOVE IT

I personally love WikiTree X as a user. A DNA cousin shared a tree on Ancestry with me and it's been very easy to add his branch with this. I also use it when sourcing, in combination with Justin's other great addition to WikiTree, the RootsSearch integration ("Research" on the pull-down menu that starts with the person's WikiTree ID). Of course, I am not an unbiased reviewer.

It has some issues to work out but overall the concept is awesome! it makes it so much easier to add and update profiles especially for those with a lot on information and those of us who use multiple resources

Very much like it. Saves a lot of effort and improves the accuracy of data transfer. For a beta test, who could ask for more!

I'm looking for my missing great-grandmother, which means I add a lot of information to Wikitree. I love this extension. Once you get used to its quirks, it becomes indispensable.
