Description from store It's sometimes difficult to determine at a glance whether a feminist or LGB(T) page is trans-friendly or transphobic. This extension highlights known subreddits, facebook pages, and pages on various other social networks with different colors based on whether they're transphobic or t-friendly.

  • (2025-07-04) Ace Aster (Papyrus): I've used this extension for years but recently keep seeing so many trans friendly creators (who are also trans btw!) being marked as anti-trans. The main victims are always intersex, non-binary, use alternative pronouns, and/or queer POC which is really gross. I don't know if this is because of a lack of proper moderation or because the dev team just doesn't care but either way I will be uninstalling as the extension no longer does what it was meant to. I hope this gets fixed eventually or someone makes an alternative with better moderation.
  • (2025-07-02) Salem Bad Sixth Grade Email Address: This used to be useful to me so I could stay safe online and avoid transphobes. These days I see a strange number of people on social media marked red without a single transphobic statement on their page. I know it's user-driven, so I'm not sure if I'm missing out on some infighting that's causing this? Ultimately it's ruining the extension for me though. It's no longer helpful when someone who is demonstrably trans-friendly is marked as anti-trans for seemingly no reason.
  • (2025-06-23) jrjrjr jejeejeje: i see more trans people marked red than i should. i see more transfemmasc/transmascfem marked than i should. its not useful
  • (2025-06-20) Dev: i once used this extension to stay safe online, now it's being used to falsely flag users who did nothing wrong and are demonstrably trans-friendly. very disappointing, i will be looking for an alternative.
  • (2025-06-15) J-J Markle-Gagne: I'm glad I got this extension. when I see a green username I'm like "cool", then go on to watch some of their videos, but when I see a red username while I'm searching for a video, I know not to watch that one.
  • (2025-06-13) Alex Smith: Shinigami Eyes was once useful for detecting crypto-transphobia, but has since gone downhill, labeling trans-positive BIPOC, Intersex, and niche trans identities as transphobic while labeling some of the most transphobic people alive as trans accepting, including people who have dehumanized me, called for violence, etc. It seems like votes don't matter when many people are documented as organically voting trans-positive, but someone is still marked red by the plugin based on opaque metrics and no accountability. This app that was once meant to help trans people identify allies and enemies has now become an app that socially isolates trans people outside of a relatively narrow experience, with many openly admitting to harassing and blocking those marked red without any critical thought.
  • (2025-06-12) AKIS: The developers are deliberately targeting their own by means of weaponizing the service to mark people who ARE T-Friendly, but get marked as Hostile either way. Quickest uninstall once i heard this.
  • (2025-06-09) Scary Meadow: Shinigami was once instrumental to stay safe online, but in recent time it's become evident that the developer has a bias and is using this trusted addon to manipulate its users by wrongly marking (and thus silencing) trans-friendly people who either are - or speak on issues relating to - transMASCULINE and intersex experiences as transphobic (red), even as their peers universally mark them as trans-safe (green). This addon is very clearly in favour of binary trans women specifically while critical of any other trans identity even if the person is trans safe. This is an egregious misuse of power and Shinigami Eyes can no longer be trusted as a result.
  • (2025-06-04) zack b: really helpful. sad that this is getting review-bombed. If you don't like it, just don't use it lol.
  • (2025-06-03) hugh mann: It marked someone trans as anti-trans because it said that nonbinary people and trans people are in danger but transmascs and trans men are often overshadowed by transfems and trans women. L extention
  • (2025-05-15) T X: Shinigami Eyes Is Failing the Community It Was Meant to Protect Shinigami Eyes is not being “review bombed.” It is being rightfully called out for perpetuating transphobia, intersexism, and internalized community bias. This extension, once a helpful tool for flagging transphobic or unsafe spaces, is now actively contributing to the very harm it was created to prevent. Let me be clear: I love and support trans women and transfeminine people. My critique is not rooted in misogyny or transmisogyny, but in a commitment to the safety and dignity of all gender-expansive people—including transmascs, nonbinary people (often dismissively labeled as “theyfabs”), intersex individuals, and our allies. Too many voices in our community are being silenced by this tool. Transmascs, nonbinary people, and intersex folks are being marked red—“unsafe”—not for any transphobic or bigoted behavior, but simply for speaking out about our lived experiences with oppression and systemic sexism. Meanwhile, accounts that promote violence against transmascs and men, deny nonbinary or intersex identities, or spread hate are still being marked green—“safe.” This isn’t just individual bias. It’s systemic harm. It’s the erasure of marginalized voices within an already marginalized community. And it defeats the entire purpose of Shinigami Eyes. To the developers and moderators: you must do better. Learn to recognize transmisogyny (sexism against trans women), transmisandry (sexism against trans men), exorsexism (sexism against nonbinary people), and intersexism (sexism against intersex people). These are real, harmful forces in our community. They deserve to be flagged—not shielded. Trans women are valid. Trans men are valid. Trans nonbinary people are valid. Trans intersex people are valid. If your plug-in claims to protect gender-expansive people, then it must protect all of us. Until then, I recommend uninstalling Shinigami Eyes—or, at the very least, disregarding the red and green tags and manually correcting false reports. As it currently functions, it no longer serves the community it once aimed to defend.
  • (2025-05-14) kennedy: doesn't do what it says it does because the developers are transphobic towards trans men (transandrophobic) and intersexist-- these groups are flagged red simply for talking about their own issues. uninstall it.
  • (2025-05-01) amki: Nice in theory, full of false positives in practice because of abusive reports and lack of meaningful moderation.
  • (2025-03-30) Miku: Thanks, ill use this to be even more transphobic ❤️
  • (2025-03-20) Kane Schlichting: Doesn't do literally anything. Nothing on Bluesky was coloured at all with this installed.
  • (2025-03-02) Mierin Tanuki (苺ス): handy and ive seen some results already, a good friend of mine showed up green and theyre very vocal on lgbtq+ rights but basically just some person so it seems to even accurately tag not just somewhat well known people with followings online
  • (2025-02-17) crow: extension has seriously gone down hill since it was first made, yeesh. it's pretty much useless at this point given that it (1) hardly colors anything relevant any more, and (2) even when they DO color names red/green, the accuracy & legitimacy is very questionable. it'll flag the obvious, sure, but i don't need an extension just to tell me *famous german dictator* doesn't like trans people. when it comes to allies (more specifically; intersex people, and trans POC???) vs literal TERFs, the flagging system gets really jumbled up.
  • (2025-02-11) ᎠᏂᏓᏪᎯ: Shinigami Eyes used to be reliable to protect myself from transphobes and other LGBTQ+phobes in general, however this tool has been abused and used to mass falsely flag namely trans people of color, transmasculine people and especially intersex people who dare to speak about intermisia we face. I'm seeing more and more green-names who are actually abusive transmedicalist radfems who get off on attacking nonbinary people, trans people of color and intersex people. This extension cannot be trusted and I genuinely cannot tell the difference between the conservatives who want me dead and people who are meant to be my allies.
  • (2025-02-01) Maddie Stiles: you're gonna need this real bad for the next four years i imagine
  • (2025-01-19) Clara Powers: Imperfect, but generally 99% right. Don't love that it's getting review bombed, but for a guide it's very useful. Group effort, if you think people should be tagged one way or another then tag them.
  • (2025-01-11) Felix Ouellette: Developers tolerate the targetting of individuals who are intersex positive. Stuff like this makes this plugin almost useless. You'll find people with red markings that are not TERFs or transphobes at all.
  • (2025-01-06) Mike Walton: really good app for spotting weirdos. lots of people in the reviews mad about being marked for spouting hateful stuff is pretty solid proof that it works lol
  • (2025-01-01) Jaden Callahan: As a cishet person and trans ally, this app really blows. Before I begin let me just state that "transandrophobia" as a social construct, does not exist. (via same way as misandry dose not and will not exist) I can't go into too much since this is a Web Store review and not a feminist 101 class. But just note to any transmascs reading this, you are not and will never not be discriminated for self-identifying as a man. Any real bullying and harassment you guys are unfortunate facing is just transphobia. Now with the preface out of the way, this app has been corrupted and unfairly used against non-transmisogynistic trans men, intersex and nonbinary individuals. Most of this mostly due to really complicated and kind of confusing inner community discourse that goes way over my head, but regardless, it's not what the app was specially made for. Yes, LGBT people can hold transphobic views, but this isn't it Without any safe grads, another annoying thing that I kept seeing basic feminist creators and websites (even pro-trans ones) as red, because basic 101 feminist talking points / some women saying slightly critical mean things about cis men as a class of people = "oh no, that means they must hate trans women!!" according to a lot of these illiterate monkeys who use the app You know your software to protect trans women is failing when the people that want to genocide them is using them to help find more folks like them
  • (2024-12-28) Paul Henderson: Using your app meant to foster inclusivity and culture as a way to extricate and isolate trans individuals seeking out said community that you deem unworthy is hideous behavior. Fix your hearts.
  • (2024-12-27) Radicalite: Thank you shinigami eyes for helping me find wonderful radfem women to follow! 💖
  • (2024-12-25) Skylar: Needs to have a better system since you can just override anything you disagree with. There should be an admin making some higher up decisions and not just all the users because it becomes unreliable. I've been using this extension for years and will continue to because trans rights
  • (2024-12-21) 3721: poop
  • (2024-12-21) _ Roxiepro_: Had Shinigami eyes for YEARS. Found out the devs have been targeting transmasc people and intersex people. I had to block so many green names that have targeted and made fun of my identity directly. At first I thought it was just some slips in code now and again but there are so many people. Not recommended anymore till they can get their priorities straight.
  • (2024-12-20) turanksu lol: developers are doing the exact opposite of what the extension is supposed to do by manually tagging intersex and trans men as red while marking people who are bigoted against those groups as green
  • (2024-12-19) Kay Husky: This extension worked well for the year I've been using it, however lately there's been a rampant use of falsely marking trans people/allies as red. I understood if some false markings slipped through the cracks by the moderators but this is happening way too frequent for it to be accidental at this point. Looking it up online about this issue results in discussion of this extension marking anything related to transmasculine or intersex issues as red. This is something I do not support as a trans individual (FtM), and won't be using this extension anymore until the moderators comes to their senses and fix this issue.
  • (2024-12-16) Sophie Baybey!: Extension has become unreliable due to false flagging. Very unhappy with the direction it has gone.
  • (2024-12-15) Celeste: Extension is useless due to false flagging and bad faith usage.
  • (2024-12-15) Dosh: you became the very thing it fought against. you can't act like you're against transphobia and then target gender identities you don't like or just PEOPLE you don't like. grow up.
  • (2024-12-15) Momo Saitou: I as a transgender person have been using Shinigami Eyes for YEARS now, always believing it to be a fair-natured and helpful application for sorting through transphobic blogs and accounts that may not make it evident on the surface, especially anti-trans blogs of the radical feminist flavor. Now, however, I have seen it be used as a weapon against legitimate pro-trans advocates and blogs for, supporting the "wrong kind of trans people" [Trans men/mascs, trans women/fems who support trans men/mascs, intersex people [including intersex trans people] and nonbinary trans people] or for "saying the 'wrong' things"[advocating for intersex people, trans men/mascs, and nonbinary people] It is not a secret that radical feminism has infiltrated many online pro-trans spaces and the community trans people themselves- thus leading us to the volatile situation we now find ourselves in. This application is no longer reliable or safe for those who do not fit into a hyper-specific category of trans people; as even pro-trans non-exclusionist trans women/fems are being marked as red for the "crime of supporting trans men/mascs" . Seeing the response by the moderators to the rightful criticism they have received - boiling down to: "Sorry we don't see anything wrong with blatant intersexism, anti-transmasculintiy , or exorsexism and we will continue to enable people to misuse our application" has fully convinced me that this is not worth the time to even consider trusting. Even trans women [ the group they claim to so dutifully support ] are being marked red and are now being opened to transmisogynistic harassment at the hands of other people who still trust this application. You are enabling the harassment and abuse of countless pro-trans activists by allowing bad actors to control your application. The response by the moderators makes me believe they endorse this radical feminist rhetoric in some way, and thus making this not worth the time of anyone who actually cares about the trans community.
  • (2024-12-14) Berry Blue: Well shinigami eyes, i think you're well overdue to be euthanized for falsely flagging people. time to take you out behind the barn put you down.
  • (2024-12-14) solar system: Was useful for a while but whoever's currently running it has a nasty habit of approving false reports marking intersex people and advocates as anti-trans - to the point where if you see someone marked in red it's fully a coinflip as to whether they're a TERF or literally just intersex. Haven't used it in ages since then, as it's ceased to become a useful tool for me. (I've also seen a few outright genocidal people marked as green - not Jewish people in general, specifically those in the business of outright demonizing Palestinians and denying genocide. I understand the point of the extension as stated is ONLY to indicate if someone is trans-friendly or not, but I'd appreciate at least not marking them in a color at all instead of telling me they've passed the vibe check? Being trans-friendly does not matter to me if you want Muslim people dead.)
  • (2024-12-14) Candicane Kitkat: hey why are the mods marking people talking about INTERSEX GENITAL MUTILATION as anti-trans? is it not enough to face a constant, unending genocide in the form of routine sterilizations?
  • (2024-12-14) Wither: was great for awhile, then the mods decided to start being intersexist and the like, so now its pretty worthless
  • (2024-12-13) Lyra Kelly: This extension was used to mark my partner as anti-trans. I'm a trans woman. Tell me how that makes any sense. There is no way to appeal or do anything about this. Absolutely useless and exploitable extension.
  • (2024-11-29) M. Sluzynski: Sometimes it does what it's supposed to and marks transphobes red (thanks, SE, for highlighting the Wikipedia pages of various historical brutal dictators as well as religious institutions as transphobic. I never would've known without your help). Most of the time, at least on Tumblr, it's used to mark trans men as transphobic if they talk about their experiences with oppression or acknowledge that they are oppressed at all. It seems that the developers buy into TME vs. TMA rhetoric and, while spending time telling Harry Potter fans to "read a different book," have also only read one book ("Whipping Girl" by Julia Serano). Users marked green throw around anti-nonbinary slurs such as "theyfab" to degender trans men and transmascs, and users marked red discuss real-world problems that trans men face when not sitting in front of a computer or smartphone. It used to be a better litmus test for transphobes, and now it has become the opposite: a litmus test for the overall opinion of the wider trans community towards trans men, which has become progressively more negative.
  • (2024-11-28) Misa Tange: Adding to the chorus of "do your own research" instead of installing Shinigami Eyes. I know for a fact that transgender men do not feel safe relying on this extension and trans men has been flagged red for talking about experiences on their oppression (yes, transgender men are oppressed). Do note that these people do not exclude transgender women from their discussions; if talking about intersexism and transandrophobia counts as being flagged red, it should be more obvious in their git page.
  • (2024-11-27) Felix Lupin: I have had Shinigami Eyes downloaded for multiple years now, and I used to think it was a really good and helpful resource! And indeed, it was for a while, but more recently the mods have been blatantly biased against intersex, transmasc, and nonbinary individuals, flagging people as red just for speaking out on intersex issues or intersexism, and claiming that it is not transphobic to call non-binary people misgendering slurs. What used to be a good extension has now been turned into a tool to actively silence and oppress non-cis and non-perisex voices.
  • (2024-11-27) Charlie Charlie: I was marked red despite being a vehement trans activist and genderqueer myself; due to the mods' bias against intersex people.
  • (2024-11-26) mayuwu: Ironically, transphobia has corrupted this extension's utility into a tool for silencing and oppression. The developers of this extension *manually approve of* marking inclusive and trans-friendly people who are intersex, transmasc, and non-binary (or those who support such people), as being transphobic, or their TOS consitering bigotry against them not enough evidence to be marked transpbobic. You cannot in good faith trust this extension to accurately deliver on what it claims to do.
  • (2024-11-26) Magpie: I thought this was supposed to be inclusive... evidently not
  • (2024-11-26) revui m: extremely disappointed in the direction this extension is being taken in. intersex people aren't transphobic for existing you little clowns
  • (2024-11-25) MJ Kiwiana: I've used Shinigami Eyes for a long time but am now uninstalling due to a shift in recent times to marking loudly, proudly pro-trans users Red simply for advocating for transmasculine people. It's a shame that a tool which was once imperfect but ultimately useful is now being used as a way to promote infighting instead of solidarity and to exclude particular groups of trans people from discussing their own oppression.
  • (2024-11-02) Googoo Wei: helps. not perfect, but the best tool we have.
  • (2024-10-27) Tenille Carter (Rosie): Marks Several racist, Anti-Transmasc users as Green on the site and also give no context to why some are marked as red
  • (2024-10-21) Natalie Aurora: Gives no context as to why they were flagged, and without context it becomes useless. One of the "anti" people I follow IS pro-trans, it just came to light that she said some things as a teenager struggling with her own gender and religion. Even without that, Anyone who works with the general public knows that many people don't do things like "nuance" and "reading" unless (maybe) it furthers their beliefs. I can't blindly trust one random kid 7 years ago to have info that was both accurate and (somehow) eternally correct. for example Is the "bad" flag correct, or just someone trying to hurt them? Either out of individual spite or as an organized effort by anti-trans people? Was it by someone who had bad information, or completely misunderstood something they said? Is this group bad, or did some kid get yelled at by a TERF in their comment section and think that meant the group is bad? Is this green person actively transphobic but marked green because they're trans? Are they marked green because they like one gender of trans but ignoring that they hate others? It doesn't matter WHAT they're marked until we know WHY they're marked.
