Scrobbling YouTube music videos to Last.fm with support for chapters/tracks
This extension seemingly scrobble watched YouTube videos to the "Last.fm" service without visiting the site. Automatic scrobbling takes place 30 seconds after the music is played or at the end of the track if the track is less than 30 seconds. You can also manually scrobble the currently played song by pressing the count-down label.
Using this extension you can also like or dislike YouTube songs without the need to open the actual "Last.fm" website.
Note that to prevent unwanted scrobbling, the extension pauses the count down when the song is paused. Also, the scrobbling label, as well as the like button, only appears if you are watching a track in the "Music" or "Entertainment" categories. Of course, the user can extend categories to include localized names or completely remove the category check.
Usage Instruction:
1. Install the extension
2. Open a YouTube music or refresh an existing music tab
3. Wait for the extension to show "Connect to Last.fm"
Features:
1. Supports Love/unlove tracks
2. Supports automatic artist name detection
3. Supports cleaning the track extra info
4. Supports manually modifying the track name or artist name (if the song doesn't get recognized)
5. Supports reporting the currently playing track to "Last.fm"
6. Supports YouTube Music interface
Why do I need this extension?
If you enjoy watching music videos, this extension helps you to discover new music tracks. The "Last.fm" service suggests new music tracks based on your listening habits.
What is the "Last.fm" service? [from Wikipedia]
Last.fm is a music website founded in the United Kingdom in 2002. Using a music recommender system called "Audioscrobbler", Last.fm builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of the tracks the user listens to, either from Internet radio stations, or the user's computer or many portable music devices. This information is transferred ("scrobbled") to Last.fm's database either via the music player (including, among others, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, MusicBee, SoundCloud, and Anghami) or via a plug-in installed into the user's music player. The data is then displayed on the user's profile page and compiled to create reference pages for individual artists.

- (2024-02-04) perunas86: There's no "Album" info on scrobbles so unfortunately scrobbles doesn't count to albums stats. :( If you want to create tapmusic collages it will not include those songs->albums listened even if it seems that those scrobbled tracks are connected to albums on Last.fm page.
- (2023-07-22) Rev. Jimmy Wonko: This has been great. I've scrobbled for 12 years now and as a stat nerd, I never have to worry abot having another 2019 with 1,259 scrobbles on the year (very low). Even not logged in, it stores them and adds when you log back in. If it's missed any, I'm not aware of it.
- (2023-07-20) Marsilito Sanchez: It works on Youtube API though just make sure to monitor ur Last.fm (Recent Tracks) if it throws any scrobbles on it also if it doesn't respond try to Clear your browsing cache and System Caches as well like on you (temp) & (%temp%) folders respectively and restart the browser for fresh start. Ure Welcome 😁

- (2023-01-18) Emmi Ari: There was one song I had to enter the scrobbling infos manually. Since then this exact scrobble has repeated itself multiple times, even though I haven't listened to that track from the first sentence. It's annoying that I have to always look out if that one track was scrobbled yet again. Apart from that I really like it, especially that it doesn't automatically scrobble when the artist or track is not found on last.fm.

- (2021-05-03) Daniil Suv: the scrobbler works perfectly for me but there's one downside. it doesn't scrobble the album name of the tracks. so the amount of scrobbles for the track goes up but not for the album which is sad because my charts now only include albums i listened to on my player or on spotify. it would be cool if in one of the next updates we could manually add the album name or at least make the scobbler detect it.
- (2020-11-28) Thomas Dawe: Works fine for me. Only wish I could not require to play the song until the end for scrobble (some songs have long periods of quiet at the end)
- (2020-03-09) Yellow Duck: yeah, it doesn't scrobble, even though I've changed settings
