(2025-08-14) Terrible to say the least ! As others have mentioned there is "free trial" - i.e. you will have to trust them first and put in your credit card details. I couldn't get it to work either - I had a PDF opened up on Chrome and hit the play button. It then opened up another tab with their "app" URL and asked me to upload a file. What is that about ?! Total waste of time. Please skip this extension.

(2025-08-14) If there's one thing I hate, that's a software that says it's free and then only after installing it will it finally say it's actually a trial. You're just wasting people's time. Be honest.

(2025-08-14) For many people this service is your advantage. If you can get your classes texts in a digital format or have other learning you have to do, you'll go so much further so much faster with better comprehension. If you don't read much online and don't take classes this might not be for you. If you do, this is your super power. Speaking, listening and comprehending come as a second nature, even if you read all the time you're likely still stronger in these areas and that is just speaking to the increased strength with nothing said about the leverage created when all you focus on is digestion and don't have to process reading itself. I have to reread passages often or miss the depth of the layers in what's being said but if I'm just listening to it that barrier isn't there. I can't sing these praises enough. Get the yearly Subscription, it's the cheapest and use the Alt + q macro to start / stop and you're off to the races. Chemistry, Biology, Thermodynamics you name it, so much easier. It really is leverage. It saves all your energy for chewing on what you're learning and making that process much more efficient. For some this is going to catapult them forward and in a year they'll be a completely new person.

(2025-08-12) Just doing the free trial, great so far, the variety of voices and the Chrome plugin are great, the price is a little steep. I think combined with Grammarly or similar software, it will help with my dyslexia and increase productivity.

(2025-08-07) The pop-up can be intrusive on some sites and block the UI. Would be nice if I could click to show the play button when needed, instead of showing automatically on every site. Minor pronunciation errors (i.e. text in all caps will sometimes be spelled out instead of read as words), but that doesn't really bother me. Not sure if I would pay for it but I'm enjoying the free trial.

So helpful for getting through readings, assessing research for specific needs, depending on the topic I increase speed and or switch to a different accent. Cannot say enough great things about it!

(2025-08-05) It's almost everything I was looking for in a text-to-speech reader. Making it work inside M.S. Word would make it just about perfect. I hope they have a fix soon for its habit of skipping over some sentences. It is the most natural sounding voice, and there are tons of them to choose from.
