Video Popout
Pop-out and load any video element to a floating window.
Video Popout is an extension that lets you easily detach the active video in a tab and load it in a small and floating popup outside of the current window.
The floating window remains active even if you change the active tab. Please note that if you close the tab that contains the video, the floating popup window will be closed as well. This addon uses the new JavaScript API called "picture-in-picture". It currently works in all modern browsers. It is important to note that, the floating window will stay on top of other windows.
Note: please play the video first and then click on the toolbar button to make it pop out. A paused or stopped video element, will not respond to the pop-out request. To change this behavior, please visit the extension options page and adjust the settings.

Just saw this recommended in a reddit post and it works exactly as I needed! The popout mini player stays overlayed so I can watch something and still play games on one screen. Thank you!
please make the sizing smaller! especially for shorts...
Very good extension, although recently the progress bar sometimes gets stuck at either full or empty and i have to fix it by restarting the video, i don't know why its like this.
Really good and useful plugin, developer also has some other really useful stuff. I think the UI is a little bit clunky, the popout player doesn't let you rewind, so you have to go back to the page and rewind the video. You should also be able to double click the video in the popout and go fullscreen, but that's personal preference. I give it 4 stars, because it could be improved. The other option for YouTube PopOut isn't free, it also doesn't work on other websites like this extension.
One of the most useful plug ins that I have. Would love to see a feature that lets me 'lock' the pop out window. This would be helpful for when I'm playing a game and my cursor isn't locked into the game window.
Missing features: 1) Click anywhere on popup to pause/resume (now only on button in center) with possibility to drag popup from any point (like now) 2) Double click to maximize/restore popup window 3) Add toolbar button to reload (refresh) video/page 4) Change video speed with slider and/or from menu with custom speed values P.S. this features implemented in Cent browser by default

perfect. everything works, unlike what some of the comments say. can resize, move around (even over the taskbar), can pause, can rewind and fastforward by using the arrow keys if you click on it. You can limit the sites it has access to. Very good
It's useless because the play and pause options don't work in the little popout window, negating its purpose.
Barebones does exactly what it advertises. Updates required: 1) Do not gray popout when mouseover. 2) Allow for controls from youtube transferred into popout. 3) captions to popout. I will continue to search for a good video popout.

Hi do you know if there is a way to make the popout respect windows multitasking meaning have it snap to corners via windows left/right/up/down key.
I have a super wide 1440 monitor, why is it locked into 1080p max? I don't mind locking at 16:9 but at least have it able to go 16:9 on a bigger potrion of my desktop. Edit: after years of contacting the developers still can't resize top to bottom edge on a 1440p monitor.

Excellent extension for multi-tasking with pop out video
if your watching a YouTube video then all you need to do is right click two times on the video and click the picture in picture.
sexy
allows me to multitask by using a video pop out (always on top). It's especially helpful when working on a laptop because snapping a window to the side will take up more space and minimize the play area of the video. but as a pop out it can maximize the space. One issue that I discovered was that it doesn't work with Disney+. I hope it will support other websites on top of Disney+.

why is there size limit
Stupid extension that break rendering of oher application in Ubuntu 22. Destroyed my nerves trying to resolve issues with flickering Intellij and terminal by reinstalling drivers and changing settings and it turned out that it's this stupid extension
