Input Tools lets you type in the language of your choice.

Switch to typing in a different language with the click of the mouse, and switch back just as easily. The Google Input Tools extension provides virtual keyboards for over 90 languages, full IMEs or direct transliteration for over 30 different scripts, and handwriting input for over 40 languages.
What's New?
✓ Malayalam now prioritize Arabic numerals as the default output when typing numbers. This change makes it easier to input numbers, as Malayalam numerals are not commonly used.
Usage Instructions:
When you first install the extension, click on the extension icon, then select "Extension Options" in the pop-up menu. A new tab will appear where you can select your preferred languages or input methods. The keyboards, IMEs or handwriting input you add to 'Selected input tools' can be enabled at any time from the extension itself. You can always return to this options page to add, remove, or change the order of your input tools.
input tool, simply click on the extension icon, select the desired language tool in the pop-up menu, then click on any text box on the web page. To turn off an input tool, click on the extension icon and select the "Turn Off" option.
To use transliteration, type languages phonetically in English letters, and they'll appear in their correct alphabet. Keep in mind that transliteration is different from translation; the sound of the words is converted from one alphabet to the other, not the meaning. For example, to get in नमस्ते with Hindi transliteration, type in n-a-m-a-s-t-e. You will get a list of Hindi words sound like namaste. Then, press SPACE to select the first suggestion नमस्ते.
Latin IMEs are to help people type in Latin-script languages using the US keyboard. Features include automatic diacritics, spell correction, and prefix completion. To use Latin IMEs, type unaccented letters, and they will be corrected to a desired word. For example, type "franca" in French IME, "français" appears, and it can be committed by pressing TAB. If continuously typing "francais", "français" will be committed by
pressing SPACE. To get all the candidates for "francais", press BACKSPACE.
To use handwriting input, select the handwriting input of your desired language. Press trackpad or left click of mouse to hand draw a character on the pop-up handwriting panel. Select the character from the suggestion list, or simply press ENTER or SPACE key to select the first suggestion.

Keyboard Shortcuts:
✓ ALT+SHIFT+N - Switch to next input tool in the list (if the extension is off, turn it on; if the current input tool is the last tool in the list, turn the extension off)
✓ ALT+SHIFT+R - Revert to the last input tool used (if none, turn off the extension)
✓ ALT+SHIFT+T Toggle the current input tool.
✓ SHIFT - Toggle between En/Cn state (Chinese input tools only)
✓ SHIFT+SPACE - Toggle the SBC/DBC mode (Chinese input tools only)
✓ CTRL+PERIOD - Toggle Chinese / European language punctuation (Chinese input tools only)
Limitations:
Due to security features of Google Chrome, the Google Input Tools extension will not assist with input in the address bar (omnibox), on the Chrome Web Store, or inside of other Chrome extensions. It does not currently assist with input inside of Flash applications.

This extension works only within the browser of course. As we used it to write Bengali, when you wanna use it outside, use something named [Avro Keyboard Software] when you want to write Bengali on OS Level. This extension is limited to pages where INPUT / TEXT BOXES are available. Might not work if you are writing on search bars or on similar areas of the core Browser itself.

The tool works for all languages except Hindi. It used to work earlier but big tech a**ho**es are jealous of our rise, hence this intentional bug.
One of the Greatest Tool
Keeps driving me crazy. I can already turn on/off the extension by "Ctrl + Space", but within the extension it also can switch back to English by typing "Shift". So I always confuse whether I should use "Ctrl + Space" or the "Shift" to enable my desired input method. What a silly design just like all the other Google products!
imput tools not received, kindly help.
Works well, but has 3 issues: 1. when placing any punctuation, it is wrapped with spaces from both sides ("like , that") and it cannot be disabled. 2. there is no own small editor to enter text, if cannot use directly, e.g. for other plugins or out of browser. 3. Does not allow to paste text with transliteration

i really do not understand what is it suppose to do if i type english words but i have it in turkish is it make the english to turkish or do i have to be able to write turkish to use this plz help.
I use this extension for a long time .It is better than Microsoft key bord in some way , but some way it is worse ,especially it's key bord short cut function .IF we can customise short cut key for english is ctrl 3, for malayalam inscript ctrl 1 ,Malayalam Phonetic AS Ctrl 2 it will become best key bord in the world ,and please add in chrome book and windows task bar . if this update will happen chrome book and this key bord will attract more customers to chrome OS .One of the Main Draw back of the Chrome OS is this key bord Problem and Can't use main Applications with out Internet .If Language Pack and Google Doc Has a Local Back up With out Internet it will more convenient and become user Friendly .

Hello Team, I noticed that when Google Input Tools extension is enabled, the Enter key does not send messages properly on Discord Web in desktop view. Disabling the extension resolves the issue. Kindly look into this for a smoother user experience.

This is a wonder extension. It saves so much time and works beautifully. I use the transliteration and the pen input and it works like magic. I hope google continue supporting it.
Saw it thrice and still couldnt download Google input tool for Hindi input. Either I am too dim or Google is too smart.

Issue with Google Input Tools in Edge Sidebar Mode Hello, I’m a dedicated user of Google Input Tools and rely on it daily for a smooth multilingual typing experience. I have noticed an issue when using the extension within Microsoft Edge’s sidebar. When I open Google Docs in the sidebar, the input tools fail to activate, whereas they work perfectly in a full Edge tab. It appears that the sidebar’s more constrained and potentially sandboxed environment is preventing the extension’s scripts from executing properly. I understand that this might be due to architectural limitations within Edge’s sidebar mode, but this functionality would greatly enhance usability for those of us who prefer a streamlined workspace. I kindly request that the developers look into compatibility with Microsoft Edge’s sidebar, or at least provide clarity on any possible workarounds or future updates that might address this issue. It works fine with all the website I have been but the it's not working is the discord channel, which is pretty suck.

this is the best way to take Gboard like feels in desktop. We love it and it's make easier to write Bangla on internet, and this best tool to write bangla than all tools to write Bangla from Bangladeshi creators. Thanks Google for saving us

The recent changes in syllable symbols of the Cantonese input method is a nightmare to current users. It is beginning to follow the system of JyutPing (e.g. "Juen" becomes "Jyun"), which a lot of users don't prefer due to its differences to conventional pronunciation of a word. More importantly, there is already a separate input method for JyutPing, so there is really no point to change the Cantonese one. I beg the people behind to stop and revert the changes, thank you.

I am a contributor to the Santali (Ol Chiki) Translation community of Google Crowdsource, Telegram & MX Player. I have been using another Santali (Ol Chiki) typing tool to write in Santali for the last 3 years. There are many languages available in Google Input Tools, except Santali (Ol Chiki). Kindly add Santali (Ol Chiki) keyboard in Google Input Tools. So that everyone can write in Santali (Ol Chiki) by using Google Input Tools. We, the Santali language community, are waiting to use Google Input Tools to type Santali language in Santali script (also called Ol Chiki).
