RSS Reader.
Brass Reader is an rss feed reader that runs in the chrome browser. It is a client side app without any server requirements. Feeds are downloaded by the extension from the feed publisher's servers, but the feeds and items are stored locally by the browser. You can download your feeds and folders from Google reader with one click.

Best Chrome-based RSS reader I've found yet as far as compatibility and interface, but it doesn't allow me to select multiple items to clear them, and you can't choose the number of articles it looks for. All that could be added, and it would work for me...

Works perfectly with Google alerts. It loads easily too. UI is very, very simple; no frills, whatsoever.
Sober and beautiful. Love it ! I wish there was a way for the extension to remember the "Sort by Newest/Oldest" option, so that it doesn't come back to default every time the tab is closed !
The idea is quite novel, and is attractive because entirely front-end based RSS clients aren't beholden to the whims of a company providing the backend. This makes BrassReader intrinsically resistant to the vicissitudes of the RSS market, which is alluring. The actual population of the feeds is incredibly fast, and the implementation is fine. Despite this, the UI is rather spartan and the reliance upon stock Bootstrap elements becomes grating, especially on modals. Hopefully, a more refined UI will arrive at a later.
