this is what I needed but it can't seem to properly store searched words in history, which is a shame I often want to re-look up words i previously searched, which couldn't be achieved in incognito mode where the Google Dict box appears and not the bloody AI overview

*Was*a great, simple extension you could use either by highlighting a word and clicking the extension, or clicking the extension and typing a word into the search box. It returned both the definition of the queried word and provided a list of synonyms--which, you could click on within the same window to see their definitions. Now, it's NOTHING. Every word you select or search returns a,"no definition found," message. What a shame. Hope they actually fix it and aren't just trying to force us into using Gemini--but, if they don't do it soon, I'll never know because I'll have moved onto another extension.

Not working anymore properly! "No definition found." If you spam button, you may get the result randomly!! Please fix it. Thank You.

couldn't define complex, installed, page, ratchet, Russian and too many more. I was just playing with it and was amazed at how many common words it couldn't find.
Jay Mendoza
is this still working? everything is now "no definitions found". is this another way of Google trying to push gemini? i just want a simple definition, not a hallucinating definition.
Java Huan

It is not working properly. For most words, nothing appears at all. Only for a few words does it show the definition. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. Thank you.

Used this extension a lot, but I am also getting the same error: No definition found. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it.
Suho Ra
it doesn't work recently as the pop-up (bubble) window frequently (one out of 2 times) shows "No definition found. Search the web for "XXXX"»" (fill in any words for 'XXXX') when i double-click on a word on chrome pages. I tried to update the extension by clicking on "Update Now" button and retarted Chrome but to no avail. Please fix it as soon as you can, Thank you~~

Everything works perfectly but just ADD A FEATURE FOR PDF too.
Mm mmm
Doesn't work like the picture...pop up doesn't work. It just is a little dictionary icon you have to click on, use their search bar, and DRAGGING the word so you don't have to copy it doesn't even work...might as well use google then. Search bar is faster.

EVERYTHIG IS JUST FINE JUST ADD A FEATURE FOR PDF TOO

Awesome! It's easy to handle. However, it would be even better if pronunciation symbols were included.

It is so unfair that every language is available without Bengali. We want Bengali translation immediately. We hope Google team well do a fair decision for us thank you guys :)

This extension makes learning so much easier. Just double-click on any word, and the meaning pops up instantly! It’s fast, accurate, and saves time while reading or studying. Highly recommend it to all students and readers!

Very useful tool. I have been using it since 2018. The only issue is, if I have "Display pop-up when I select a word or phrase" selected, I cannot have it pronounce the words. It just doesn't work.
Wajiha Abidi
Thank you for making my life easier.

When I try to use the tool to listen to a word's pronunciation, it won't work unless you're on a Google page

Such a lousy and trashy extension. It wasted my time.
Bryan Fernando
Very sigma tool
Perrson DC
very very useful tool
Landis Reed (LandisTwo)
it's ok. could be faster and Needs to look More like a Dictionary and not a 'fortune cookie' ticker tape... but, i guess that's what makes it quick. 9 out of 10 words I 'look up' (double click on) are Not in Google's dictionary, which seem weird, being they've search the whole web. the option to 'add to personal dictionary' is a lie. there is No way to 'add words i look up' within a webpage. none. only text fields.
Warren Halderman
Good extension. Would be better if Chrome would let me disable extensions for specific PWAs.
Anjali Chaurasia
I absolutely love the simplicity and utility of this extension but for some reason it refuses to work on pdfs, the speaker icon too does nothing when I press it so that's why I'll give it 4 stars-
minh hieu bui
Helpful.
Sameh
Incredibly helpful. Even works for translating from other languages.
Caden Nguyen
4 stars because it is useful. While you might say it should be 5 stars, it is sometimes hard to understand certain words in the definition. Certain terms are not in the dictionary. Also, if your school allow this extension, you should install it. This might help cheat in school in tests (if possible or if the test is done on a device). Overall, I would say install it (if it is not blocked for you) because it can save time and can cheat in school. We do not want to take this down this extension
dev vaibhav
I think i am facing this issue recently. The extension gives me the definition by double clicking a word but no sound when I click the speaker icon. I double checked my speaker settings and they were ok. Hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks in advance!

Great.
