- **For people having trouble with the page not translating, simply reload the page and the translation will kick in** I've noticed that if I right click to open a tab the translation won't work but reloading fixes the problem. I use Google translate all day, every day and it works incredibly well. I've tried other translation extensions such as DeepL and they just aren't as easy to use (though sometimes the translations are more accurate).

- website is in japanese, sometimes it translates, sometimes not. extension unhelpfully says "translate is built into chrome" well its auto detect obviously doesnt work all the time... thats why i got the extension? what were you guys thinking? add a button to make it translate or an extension that lets you copy paste the text or translate from an image. why make this and inclued a "keep running but don't do anything" function?

- Dear Google Translate Team, I am a frequent user of the Google Translate Chrome extension. It works wonderfully for quick translations, but I kindly request the addition of a feature to select the preferred pronunciation accent (e.g., American English vs. British English) within the extension's settings. Currently, the accent seems to be set geographically or system-wide, and I specifically require the American English accent for my learning and usage needs. Adding this simple option would significantly enhance the utility of the Chrome extension for millions of users worldwide. Thank you for considering this suggestion.

- The extension does not properly support right-to-left (RTL) rendering for Persian. Translated Persian text shows broken direction and alignment, which makes it hard to read. I tried fixing it with custom injected CSS, and it works inside the translation pop-up, but not in the main interface when clicking on the extension itself. Proper RTL handling is needed so Persian displays correctly everywhere.

- Cant even detect the right language. i highlight Chinese but it keeps detecting as Vietnamese, so I have to manually change to chinese everytime. Very Convienient.

- It actually doesn't work in Brave and Chrome anymore. It tells you "Page translation is built into Chrome.". And I re-downloaded it because built-in page translation doesn't work well on some websites and some languages.

- Dear Support Team, Your translation feature is extremely unstable!! Sometimes it works properly, but other times it fails and shows "Translation failed"!! This inconsistency makes it very difficult to use the service reliably. Please look into this issue and provide a fix as soon as possible. Thank you！

- This annoying disturbance around the field you try to focus on is detrimental to certain people with ADHD and other disabilities. Any new little widget thingy that pops up and disappears when you try to work should be an opt-in, not forced onto users. Shame! To get rid of it, go to Extensions, Google Translate, Extensions Options and set Pop-up translations to Don't display icon or pop-up.

- Doesn't seem to like privacy badger OR privacy badger doesn't seem to like translate. Lot's of trouble with this since the update on 9/5/2025, finally fixed by telling privacy badger to let chrome spy on me. Stupidity.

- It used to be THE greatest translator out there but Google did a Google and ruined it! In the good ol' days one could highlight any piece of text and the always-handy-never-obtrusive pop-up window offered a quick, accurate translation - with sound an all! Now I'm forced to open a new window, drain RAM (God knows Chrome needs it) and waste some precious seconds doing what should take an instant. I hope whoever thought it was a good move is having a laugh, because I'm not.

- i often open my local PDF files using chrome and when i select something to translate, the extension suggest opening a new tab in google translate for the word but there would be no pop-ups(even though i grant access to url files). that would be a huge upgrade if you could just translate on select for local files as well.
