- (2025-04-21) atsushi nakano: I love this extension! I use it to simplify websites. By removing elements I don't want to see such as reccomended videos on youtube. Select elements in code tab and type "display: none; " between { } showed up. No more.

- (2024-11-01) Colin Kurtz: For Brave browser, you have to disable shields to get the code window to pop up, otherwise clicking Open Stylebot does nothing. After entering the code you can re-enable shields and the code still works. Would be nice to have an update where the Open Stylebot works with shields up, otherwise people are just going to think the extension is bugged, which I thought it was at first... I was halfway thru a 1-star rating before I though to try disabling shields.

- (2024-09-09) Damien MB: Firstly, the reason Stylebot doesn't work on the Chrome Web Store is because Google doesn't allow it, same with ad blockers. It's also melodramatic to call it "abandoned" after only a few months. Opera users should be aware though that the "Open Stylebot" button may do nothing (granted it's not designed for Opera), however right-clicking on the page then "Style Element" is a tolerable workaround. Once you actually get the style editor open it does the job.

- (2024-08-19) Tomasz Fiszer: Doesn't open on all websites. Doesn't even open here, on stylebot page in google chrome. It's barely supported, there are almost no commits to this project anymore. Considered abandoned.

- (2024-02-13) Zahid Aslam: Works sometimes, somethings it doesn't. For certain pages extension shows that the styles are enabled but it doesn't actually work. Once you disable and enable it again, the styles get applied.

- (2024-01-10) a b: Fantastic! I get eye fatigue very easily from light pages and with a few easy clicks (after the default Alt+Shift+M to open it up on a particular page) the page is now readable. When I first tested this on rottentomatoes I was worried it would only change the particular element I'd selected but, nope, it looks to the most general class or node hierarchy to apply the styling. It also works on difficult sites like archive.is where I've never figured out how to make things tolerable by directly editing the styling using page Inspect. Set it and forget it; the same settings will be used next time you're on that domain. The only place it hasn't worked for me is ironically the chrome web store itself where extensions are disabled, so it was torture to write this review but I'll suffer through it to review something that has really substantially improved my quality of internet-browsing life. And if you've never used something like this before, it takes a minute or two max of clicking here and there to get the hang of it even if you have no idea what an element or a css or a style is. I really wish I'd found this years ago. No more abandoning long articles with flashbang styling because I can't be bothered to fiddle with a cluster**** of poor styling; it never takes more than a minute to get a website into acceptable shape.

I'm using several chrome profiles and this is one of several extensions that I always use in every profile. in my case it's very helpful to turn several websites into [an even] dark[er] mode, other than way many other things. this extension alone really improves the web usability, sometimes dramatically. I have no problem whatsoever with Wikipedia & iframes (which was complained by several other reviews). the code editor works great, and the code window can be resized as well. the sync & export import feature is a life saver. it just works so good that I don't have any feature request in mind. kudos for the developer.

- (2023-12-05) Nikolay Pakulin: I use the extension to increase fonts on some sites without zooming in and breaking the layout. Another important use case is restyling old web-sites, that show text from side to side without columns. Since my display is REALLY wide, and I tend to open browser full-screen, without the extension such sites look like a mesh of horizontal spaghetti. With Stylebot I can easily setup a column view, with reasonable width and centered on the screen. Just brilliant. Thank you very much!
