Description from store If you want to highlight, add notes and remember parts of articles, documentation, or any other web page, now you can. It's simple and the perfect study tool. Note: to customize the keyboard shortcuts this extension uses, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts or brave://extensions/shortcuts, depending on your browser. Features: 1) View all notes and highlights in one convenient place (just click the extension logo on your browser). 2) Change the highlight color for any and all URLs. 3) Completely free. 4) No account sign up. How it works: 1) Drag the mouse over text, and highlight it with one keyboard command (Ctrl+K for Windows. Command+K for Mac). 2) Double-click any existing highlight and enter notes for it in the pop-up prompt. 3) Hold the mouse over a highlight that you've added a note for and it will show up. To make it easier to know which highlights have notes and which don't, ones that have notes will also appear underlined when you hover over it. 4) Double click a highlight to edit or remove your note. 5) When you return to the URL any time in the future, your highlights and notes will always be there. 6) To unhighlight the block of text, select any part of it and again hit (Ctrl+K for Windows. Command+K for Mac). 7) Clear stored highlights and notes for the URL you're on with another keyboard command (Ctrl+Shift+A for Windows. Command+Shift+A for Mac). Refresh the page and they will be gone. 8) View all of your notes and highlights separated by URL in the extension popup (just click the extension logo on your browser). Does not work with email or online PDFs.

  • (2023-05-24) Natalie Davis: Really amazing tool, love it. A couple bugs though: You have to manually set the keyboard shortcuts, it doesn't come built in with them. I suggest having that in the instructions section. Something like "Go to extensions, then manage extensions, press the three lines, go to keyboard shortcuts, then set the shortcuts for Markit- we recommend blah blah blah" And the change colour tool sadly doesnt seem to work.

  • (2021-06-28) Adrian Bitsinnie: Does not work on Windows PC. Does not allow me to highlight nor take notes even when following the instructions in the extension. When pushing ctrl+k it opens google search bar. Using the latest version of chrome which I believe is Chrome v91.0.4472.124
  • (2020-11-03) Nelson Ratan Mondol: Does not work. Ctrl + k does not highlight text, it opens search (built-in shortcut). Ctrl + K (i.e. Ctrl + Shift + k) does nothing. Other Ctrl + key combos that are not built-in shortcuts also do not work for this. No way to change the shortcuts. Using crome - Version 86.0.4240.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • (2020-10-27) Adrian Cook: Does not work. Ctrl + k does not highlight text, it opens search (built-in shortcut). Ctrl + K (i.e. Ctrl + Shift + k) does nothing. Other Ctrl + key combos that are not built-in shortcuts also do not work for this. No way to change the shortcuts. Using Chrome 86.0.

  • (2020-07-13) Matt Blais: Great idea, and it mostly works, but I am unable to use the Notes function; when I double-click highlighted text, it simply selects the clicked word as normal, instead of allowing me to enter a note. Five stars if this is fixed 🙂
  • (2020-06-24) Andre Diaz: Let the user choose with the combination of letters to do it or finally give him an option without keys to underline, it is very annoying since the ctrl + k some have already used it. I could never highlight anything because it can only be done with ctrl + k and my combination is already used on my PC
  • (2019-07-08) Derek Gester: Very useful tool!
  • (2019-06-11) Jamison Cote: This is easily the best highlighter for Chrome on the market. Super simple and allows you to come back to the page and the highlights always stay there.
