Adds kudos-per-hit ratios to the stats of Archive of Our Own fics.
Shows you a percentage of how many of its readers gave it kudos to the stats section of all Archive of Our Own fics, right after the Hits count. Also includes a customizable bar for a nice visual of how the fics stack up. This way you can easily compare the quality of different fics, no matter how many views they have. Note: Doesn't work for fics that have either Kudos or Hits hidden.
- (2019-09-23) Katie Willems: Thanks for this! Used to use "AO3 TrueRank," and loved using that as an indicator so much that since it's stopped working I've just been (roughly) calculating the ratio in my head. (Easy when you're looking for something nearing 10%!) This one's slightly different, and I LOVE how visual it is and that the numerical value is written as a percentage. The red bar makes it so much easier to skim down the page. Thanks for putting this together! Definitely recommend. One POSSIBLE request: adding decimals to the percentages. E.g. a 7.1% versus a 7.6% versus a 7.9%, rather than a lumped round-number of 7% or 8%.
- (2020-03-21, v:1.3.2) Betsy Rosenblatt: Trademark Issues
Dear Mooglegirl: We are writing on behalf of the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW), a nonprofit that, as you know, hosts fanfiction and other fan-created content at the Archive Of Our Own (AO3) website. It has come to our attention that you provide the”AO3 Kudos-Per-Hit Ratios” extension for Chrome. We appreciate your apparent affection for the Archive of Our Own, and don't want to dampen that at all! However, we hold trademark rights in our “Archive Of Our Own” and “AO3” names as well as the Archive of Our Own logo, and we need to protect them against unauthorized usage that confuses our users. Since you have launched your extension, we have received communications from users who are confused and believe that your extension is associated with or provided by the AO3. With that in mind, we ask that you modify your logo so it does not incorporate the AO3 logo, add the word “Unofficial” to the extension name (for example, “Unofficial AO3 Kudos-Per-Hit Ratios”), and include a disclaimer in your product description explaining that the extension is not affiliated with the OTW or AO3. It is also important to us that users understand that the AO3 is free to use and does not have any advertising. With that in mind, we kindly ask that you keep your extension free. Thanks again for your affection! Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions, or if you wish to discuss the situation. Best, Betsy Rosenblatt, Esq. On behalf of the OTW Legal Committee
