Recently I tried this extension Web Cam - Record Video or Image. I would suggest to give a try and it has additional feature as well which is also worth to install.

- (2024-07-09) Lukas H: I'm a long-term user of hippovideo and hate to give a bad rating but I really don't like the new update which has completely ruined this extension. It doesn't save my settings, it closes tabs when I pause the recording. It doesn't take me to the video page inside hippovideo anymore, so now I have to navigate there manually each time after recording. It was really easy to use before, now it's a nuisance. Please bring the old extension back.

- (2024-01-17) Demar Chapman: Hippo Video works when it want to. I have had several issues with recording videos. The company has been established long enough to fix the bugs that cause issues in the recordings. I have problems with it downloading and sometimes just working. It should not matter how I'm recording but they recommended Chrome. Well, Chrome is not working.

I can record videos, but if I click on the hippo icon in the plugins bar, it just hangs and never connects. So I can't access any of the controls I used to have access to there. Might switch back to Loom. This is a great product when it works, but that's the thing - Loom just works.
