My favorite music visualizer! I appreciate that there's no logos or anything. Can just get lost in the music. Also love how the visuals blend together. Highly recommend 👌

Absolutely the best music visualizer plugin. No frills, no ads, just tons of beautiful visualizations that render smoothly. The only thing I really want is a visualizations menu to favourite and select from, like on the Butterchurn website.

I love it, but can we get a couple settings and a menu to pick the presets from the list? I'd also like an option to display the preset name for a second when switching, like in the old Winamp days...I used to keep track of my favorites haha. Anyways, thank you!

This extension is awesome. Makes any web page act like winamp if you activate it. Streaming services with a web client just work.

The extension is alright. The only problem with this is that it heats up my cpu and has it go to nearly 90% usage on task manager and has temperatures go up to 90 C! And yes I have a very good cpu. I have the Ryzen 7 5800x with EIGHT cores with a powerful cooler for it and yet it spikes the temperature from 32C all the way to 90C in a matter of seconds. The same goes with the task manager. From 2% usage to around 85-90% usage, in once again, a matter of seconds. So if you're planning to use this extension, you better have a seriously powerful cpu like the Intel Core I9-13900k, because this extension is an absolute cpu eater.

When i uploaded songs on the website, i could experiment with everything and customize the look, but when i got the pluggin, it does link to my Spotify song, but doesn't let me control anything at all. Stuck with one visualizer on one speed. Besides that, it's great! If it worked like when i uploaded to the website, it would be FANTASTIC

When I open Butterchurn it mutes the audio playing tab in my browser, so it's not usable with soundcloud.

Best browser-based visualizer going AFAIK. As another reviewer alluded to, I tend to favor the site (https://butterchurnviz.com/) over the extension for the simple fact that it can tap into your PC's mic input, which is clutch if you prefer streaming from your phone or any other device for whatever reason (you need a decent mic otherwise this'll be your better option). For those that love this, you'll want to drop everything and navigate to your respective app store (or GitHub, link below, for those not on mobile) and DL the app ProjectM. It's open source and available for just about every platform I can think of. Just my $0.02, but @ $3.99, the pro version of the app is probably the best $4 I've ever spent in my life https://github.com/projectM-visualizer/projectm#available-for It's essentially the same exact concept (i.e., picking up the Milkdrop torch where it was unconscionably put out to pasture by MS / WinAmp and just when it was just hitting its stride!) but with more granular settings/controls that allow you to fine tune the appearance of the milkdrops based on your taste or in some cases, hardware limitations. It also allows for playlist creation, which should be welcomed news for Spencer D. (below), anyway. One thing to note, depending on the platform you DL it for, it may or may not come with presets. Don't fret, though - 40,000+ presets are only a 123MB zip file away: https://mischa.lol/projectM/presets_community.zip PS - I would also like to donate to this project as(and which you may have picked up on) I feel like music visualizers got left in the proverbial dust for some unknown reason since Microsoft dropped it like a bad habit all these years ago... I was finding for this stuff! Best plugin none the less If butterchurnviz sees this, please add keybind to stop changing presets (so you can only change them manually). Hope this feature will be added. Big thanks to the developer!
