- (2021-01-17) Andrew Morgan: This app just doesn't work. Paid for the full version, only have the admin version installed (latest release) and it just flashes "deleting messages" while not doing anything.
- (2020-08-26) W D: User for about 9 months. Upgraded to admin so we can clear channels because our company won't let my team use pay version of Slack and we hit our message limit regularly. Non-admin version works for individual users to delete their own messages bur with admin version I can run it on channels while I'm doing other things. When Slack releases an update, sometimes functionality issues based on whatever Slack has updated. Slack's August release broke the extension but I emailed the developer and he told me that he would have a new version available in less than 2 weeks. Actually emailed me directly in less than a week letting me know the issue was addressed and after I updated the extension, it works just fine. Works well on channels, both open and private. Starts at the bottom and deletes all user messages in a channel. For DMs, you have to log in as each user and delete the messages of the user you are logged in as, which is more time-consuming but certainly faster than having users delete messages manually. You can ask your team to install the user version to delete their own messages but developers aren't good at cleaning up after themselves. :) Tried other deleters, some of which have given me concerns about privacy. Giving this 5 stars because it does what it says it will do. Extension developer worked with me directly and resolved issue quickly.
