Fast forward, rewind, navigate chapters, control volume, speed, and more (50+ actions) with an unlimited number of custom mouse controls (hover over different areas of the video and use mouse wheels or buttons) and keyboard shortcuts. Use global keyboard shortcuts to control active video from any app.
Turn on the "Auto Gain" feature to balance sound levels across different videos by making quieter videos louder. One of the audio channels is quieter or missing? Just turn on the "Mono Mix". Use the "High Pass Filter" to make muddy audio with too much bass clearer. If the volume is still too low, there is a "Boost Volume" feature.
Make player controls always visible, hidden, visible only on mouse hover, or show only a minimalist progress bar. Auto-hide them in less than the default 3 seconds. Customize volume and time display and base time on the current playback rate.

Mouse Control

Convert Channel Name To Link (available in Chromium-based browsers)
- in the playlist, queue, or related videos, click on the channel name, and the page will open in the new tab after a second or two (this feature might not work in all browsers)

- Ctrl+Click on any thumbnail or avatar image to show the full-size version

Video Filter
- adjust the video brightness and contrast (0 - 200%)
Zen Mode
- dim, blur, and grayscale all sections except the video player on watch page
- a section becomes visible on mouse hover, and all sections become visible when you start scrolling down
Replace Mute Button With Volume Level
- show volume level (e.g., 50%) instead of the mute/unmute button in the player
- you can still click on it to mute/unmute
Enable Custom Time Display In Player
- replace the default time display (current time / duration) with a custom one based on a template

Autoplay Switch - Turn Off
- controls the Autoplay switch (the first button in the bottom right corner of the video player)
- it will check the switch when the new video starts and turn it off

Disable Auto Pause
- disable the "Video paused. Continue watching?" feature

- enables you to stop the player when you open a new video
- separate options for foreground and background tabs
Pause Previous Video
- pause the previous video when another one starts playing
Loop Normal Videos
- automatically turn on loop (auto-repeat) on current and every new normal video
Skip Video Intro / Outro
- start playing the new video from a specified time or chapter to avoid watching repetitive intros

Initial Player State - Foreground: Only First Video: Stopped and Initial Player State - Background: Stopped, well done!! I hope Youtube doesn't code around this anytime soon

- Amazing Plugin. Fixed many of my gripes with Youtube UI. An example of this is for the longest time Youtube video thumbnails have been uncentered. I've tried many plugins but this is the only one that's actually fixed it for me. Also lets you scroll through the sidebar while not also scrolling through the comments or making the video get blocked by the comments. This plugin with the right settings, plus SponsorBlock and Return Youtube Dislike and it feels like an entire different experience.

- Thank you for this. Please enable blocking "live" videos from the suggested videos (right sidebar) and "streamed" videos from searches. I personally have no desire to watch those types of videos.

- i only got this extension to stop the "video paused. continue playing?" popup, enabled the setting, waited for the popup to appear and the extension didnt do anything. the extension probably good in other ways but i only want it for this specific setting which doesnt work.

- It looks like under the "Appearance & Other Features" section, some of the content filters are broken for me. Specifically, the filters for "Live - Home," "Live - Subscriptions," "Upcoming - Home," "Upcoming - Subscriptions," and "Upcoming - Channel" no longer remove those videos when they're checked. They were working this morning, but not this afternoon. I even removed the extension from Chrome, reinstalled it, and redid all of my settings, but those filters still don’t work, while the others do. I'm still loving the product, and I hope those features can be fixed.

- The extension stops working after restarting/relaunch chrome as of 2025-08-17. Only reinstalling the extension makes it work again. Disabling and reenabling does nothing, neither any combination of that and restarting chrome. Only full reinstall. Please fix as this is the best YT plugin and use it every day.

- Works fine on YouTube! Finally, I can go full screen while using the Equalizer extension. Please add a "low pass filter" too, it’s really useful. I’d even subscribe to your Patreon if you implement it. The "high pass filter" is great for removing rumble, but the low pass filter is also very helpful since some videos have horribly boosted high frequencies. This is the best EQ extension for YouTube. I’d give it 5 stars, it works flawlessly!

- Got this to clamp down on player resolutions, mid writing this review/suggestion I went back and set every single perimeter on resolution to prefer 1080p and it will default to that instead of 4k, I think if I say prefer 1080p, it should be that instead of needing to tell it on every setting. side note, I wanted youtube to pause on open and need to be clicked to start playing, this does exactly what I want without issue and has the thumbnail displayed. If the dev wants to improve this, 1 option for resolutions and advanced options to set per mode resolution I can't see how to do this in extension if its an option, I have a script called "Resize YT To Window Size" it adds black bars on the top and bottom, probably the sides too (I have a 4k monitor and I set the window to half my screen) and it keeps the thumbnail ratio along with moving the header to below the player, not a massive change but it does stop it from coming down when its unwanted. There are 2 other extensions I use, one adds a copy video at current time button, a nice feature when I want to send someone a video at a current time, and another one that reloads the video with the current time in the url bar, another really nice feature but limited use case, I suspend tabs and I may be an hour or so into a 5+ hour long video, I either have to remember the exact time, or hope youtube will reload it at the correct time, the fact I got a script to do this specifically tells you how good that worked out. if those were implemented I could ditch all the scripts I use in favor of this extension. overall a heavy recommend with potential improvements.

- The extension is the best in its category. However, I experience a small inconsistency. I have set a Ctrl + combo to speed up the video. In firefox, it works correctly, but in Chrome, the website gets zoomed instead of the video speeding up (Chrome perhaps doesn't allow TweaksForYT to intercept that hotkey).

- Is there an option to make the youtube logo redirect to the subscription feed instead of home? If there isnt, can you make one? A previous extension had this feature and it makes navigating youtube a lot easier for me. Edit: Thank you that did it, and I dont have to disable this if I do want to look at the home feed.

- Works absolutely fantastically. My only inquiry would be about the rich grid layout. When using this to make more videos appear on the homepage, rather than adding videos it simply lines up the current six youtube loaded and leaves empty space remaining on the page. I'm not sure if this is a youtube related issue or something with the extension.

- Really, really nice! I was just looking through the list of extensions, and -- for the heck of it -- typed in "tweaks"... not knowing that there were [such] things... then, came across *this*! I wish that I had found it yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrsss ago! My favorite features are the "hide progress bar" [and controls underneath], whenever I'm capturing video [with that GameBar thing in Windows]; also, the fact that whenever I click Play/Pause (shortcut K), the annoying arrow and/or pause animation doesn't show up on the recording... and that "cycling" animation (the turning arrow) whenever something is loading, etc. Truly, a really nice extension -- one of my favorites! So many other features -- too many to list -- that I like about this extension! I have well over a thousand videos that I have to edit -- and this (the above features, as well as others not mentioned) have probably saved me weeks of editing time! Oh, yes -- and one other thing... the ability to hide those, what I call "preview tags" (the Next Up videos at the end of a clip); especially, when they would block part of the video [playing in the background] background before the clip has finished playing.
