يتجاوز هذا الامتداد سلوك فتح علامة تبويب جديدة. تفتح اللعبة تلقائيًا في كل علامة تبويب جديدة تفتحها. يمكنك أيضًا النقر فوق رمز الإضافة وسيتم فتح علامة تبويب جديدة مع استعداد اللعبة للبدء.
Flappy Bird هي لعبة بسيطة حيث يتعين على اللاعب توجيه الطيور من خلال مستوى مليء بالأنابيب مع وجود فجوة صغيرة فقط. وهي مستوحاة من لعبة هليكوبتر سابقة وألقاب أخرى تعود إلى فترة التسعينيات ، حيث يجب الحفاظ على قوة الدفع للتنقل على مستوى ما.
يتحرك الطائر للأمام تلقائيًا ولا يمكن للاعب التفاعل إلا عن طريق النقر على شريط المسافة أو الضغط عليه ، مما يجعله يرفرف بجناحيه بحيث يطير إلى أعلى. نظرًا لأن كل مقطع له ارتفاع مختلف ، يحتاج اللاعب إلى النقر أو الإيقاف المؤقت (مما يتسبب في تراجع الطيور) للتأكد من قدرتها على المرور. لا توجد نهاية للعبة ، فالهدف هو مجرد الحصول على درجة عالية وعلى أساس النتيجة الإجمالية يمكن الحصول على أنواع مختلفة من الميداليات.
