Worked flawlessly, but this year it defaults to 1080p every time the browser is updated. Have to manually change to 4K every time.

This extension does its job but has a weird issue. Every few days, it resets the default video quality back to 1080p. I have to go into settings to change it back to 1440p whenever this happens. That doesn't take long, but I shouldn't have to do that and it's kind of irritating. Another thing I am not a fan of is how the extension makes you unable to change the quality of a YouTube video. If you try to change it, it will automatically put it back to the quality it is set to. So, if I watch YouTube in a place with slower internet, I have to disable the extension.

While seemingly working at a first glance , I noticed the extension defaulting to 1080p without the user input.

Malwarebytes detected it and says the website is a backdoor trojan. (do not get this extension!)

Does not work. Every time I go full screen, YouTube bumps resolution up to 4K, no matter what I do. I thought this would fix it, but it does NOTHING.

its the only one that actualy works all the other extensions i tried to auto set yt quality did not work at all

I am not the first instance here but Malwarebytes is flagging this as Adware.PhoenixInvicta. Didn't really think about it before but the permissions Windows grants Chrome allows this infected addon to reinstall itself even after Malwarebytes quarantined and ripped its files out of the browser.

This extension has worked great for years, but today it was flagged as malware. I'm flagging the product here on the store and removing it immediately.

every time i restart brave it changes back to 1080p how hard is it to fix?

You could make it stop forgetting it's setting on a regular basis. Just a thought.

Why does a youtube exclusive extension requesting permissions outside of youtube.com? Uninstalling for now since it's not working for me at the moment, but the permissions need to be reverted back to only youtube and youtube only period.

I agree with everyone else about the permissions, hoping that is also just a bug. There is no reason a youtube video extension needs data from any domain other than youtube.com

Recent update did break, but uninstalling and reinstalling did fix. However, in finding this out, I discovered that this extension is requesting (a) full browsing history permissions and (b) access to content on *any* website. This extension does not need those permissions. It should exclusively be requesting permission to read and change data on youtube.com, and that is it. Anything beyond that is unnecessary, and I think this should be adjusted immediately.

version 2.1.1. is completely broken .. was good til now

Worked great for when I first installed it, but then it started auto pausing videos when I open them. For those having trouble with this extension auto pausing videos: Remove it from chrome, and then reinstall/reenable the extension, there was an update that added an option to auto pause videos, but this extension didn't deliver to everyone who has it installed- so it may be bugged for older users (for me, the dropdown to select a video quality was completely blank, and there was no option to auto pause- but it was auto pausing anyway when I had it enabled).

Removing and reinstalling did not fix this extension. Randomly youtube will switch back to "auto" quality and you will get blurry video as it goes below 720p which is what i prefer. Will not install ever again.

if it stopped working for you , just remove and re-install it.

Start bugging in last 24 hours causing YT videos to stop playing on loading of the page.

*ONLY EXTENSION THAT REALLY WORKED* After checking many extensions, I am declaring this extension the BEST. - Worked great since last 3 years. - Very simple excellent user interface. - Best usage if you want to save your Internet Data MBs while watching YouTube videos at the lowest possible quality especially those videos which you just want to listen but not interesting to view or watch.

It recently stopped working, but removing and re-installing has fixed the problem. Otherwise, has worked great for the past 2+ years!

It broke, causing all my vids to start at 720p and paused, but reinstalling seems to have fixed it. I'm on Brave instead of Chrome, might've something to do with it.

Seems to be bugging out recently, causes all videos on youtube to start paused as of the last 24 hours of this review. Worked perfectly for me up until now. Shame.

Breaks Cloudflare captcha

A great extension!! I use it every day with great pleasure, but I actually miss a feature, Is it possible to add the function that when I click on a video in YouTube that it automatically switches to full-screen viewing mode. That would be a very nice addition.

Will mess with other website other than youtube. I dont recommend.

I hate to leave a bad review but it quite working recently. No settings changed and every once in a while I will notice that the video quality has suddenly got super grainy. I check and it's no longer at 1440p but 720p or even less sometimes. I have to manually change it back to 1440p within YouTube settings. Please fix! I'll update the review once it's fixed assuming it hasn't been long enough that I haven't moved on. Also, I have no idea what Autopause is or what it does. There's no explanation on the extension page either. I checked the box on the same page where I set the resolution but all it did was pause a video I was watching. Not sure what the use of this is.

After yesterday's update, when launching Chrome this plugin spikes to ~4 GB of RAM usage for a few minutes, completely locking up the browser during that time.

When i noticed auto-pause wasn't working, i had to check whether i installed the correct extension. Was very disappointed to find that i was using the correct extension because now i don't have an alternative.

Auto-pause was very helpful and better working than what is offered by other extensions.

Will update this to 5 stars when Autopause is brought back

Autopause videos doesn't exist in the newer update please fix it!

Never redirected me anywhere. Only auto quality extension that still works. Update: New update for it fixed the video triple refresh issue and it works even better now.
