Description from store
uBO Lite (uBOL) is an efficient MV3-based content blocker.
The default ruleset corresponds to uBlock Origin's default filterset:
- uBlock Origin's built-in filter lists
- EasyList
- EasyPrivacy
- Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list
You can enable more rulesets by visiting the options page -- click the _Cogs_ icon in the popup panel.
uBOL is entirely declarative, meaning there is no need for a permanent uBOL process for the filtering to occur, and CSS/JS injection-based content filtering is performed reliably by the browser itself rather than by the extension. This means that uBOL itself does not consume CPU/memory resources while content blocking is ongoing -- uBOL's service worker process is required _only_ when you interact with the popup panel or the option pages.

- (2025-08-29) Killua Zaoldyeck: Taken as trojan ELF[MiraiDab] by AVG.
- (2025-08-29) Johan Buelens: The latest update causes some of the more popular virusscanning suites to flag one of the files as a possible ELF:Mirai-DAB[Trj] this is an Indexed MetaData file that is called _ruleset6. A ruleset that give the add-on it's list of blocked websites. It is a false Possitive and can be ignored or flagged in your virusscanner as a false possitive. The hexdump of the file also confirms this as it starts with "2D 2D 2D 2D" not the "7F 45 4C 46" that a true ELF trojan would always use. You can flag the file as safe should you get a possitive reading. Hopefully people looking up this issue and land here will find this usefull.
- (2025-08-29) TinyLivi: Its good, better than most other ad blocks but both AVG and Norton are detecting ELF:Mirai-DAB[Trj] after the latest update. Not sure if this is a false positive?

- (2025-08-22) first name last name: I shouldn't need to subscribe to a third party (github) to report a problem.
- (2025-08-22) Craig James: Just a heads up to the developer: chrome trying to hard patch this by on purposely trying to corrupt the file for users. Chrome is violating its own policy on apps by doing this, and by extension harming app developers.

- (2025-08-17) Hamdingers Cat: Mandatory for using the internet on chrome, which isn't a browser anyone should be using anymore. Modern Firefox is as fast, stable, and lean as chrome has ever been, and with a substantially higher respect for their users' information and experience. Sadly not as effective as the original version which google killed in order to attack ad-blocking while lying about the reasons, which were money, money, selling your personal information for money, and, last but not least, money. Still, the developers of this extension have done more work to make the modern internet safer and easier to use than almost anyone, ever.

- (2025-08-16) Duwindu Tharinda: do NOT try this with Youtube Annotations Restored
- (2025-08-16) Howard Tanner: Needs the ability to temporarily disable it for a site.
- (2025-08-16) Nicholas Larochelle: Works great on websites i need it on.
- (2025-08-16) Harrison Smith: This doesn't allow you to selectively block anything, but it blocks ads off YouTube and that's all I care about. 12/10. I wonder how long until Chrome removes this, too.
- (2025-08-15) Eric Ketzer: Not sure why many here below are losing it. uBlock Origin Lite works perfectly.
- (2025-08-14) RHYS JOHNSON: I HATE IT!!!!!!
- (2025-08-14) EnigmaticRPG: Doesn't block any ads in Yandex Mail and you can't report anything without a GitHub account. Even on max blocking, all it does is slow down the page. RIP the best extension. I guess it's back to FireFox...
- (2025-08-14) Zara Izara: Google doesn't care about safety. They only care about money.
- (2025-08-14) First L: f google and their greedy merchant ways
- (2025-08-13) ALFRJANI Mohamed: literal Perfection✋🗿🤚
- (2025-08-13) Michael Martin: Google destroyed the uBlock Origin because it was too good at allowing you to selectively block content. They make money off of forcing you to download their ads and so they did away with all the pesky features like the lightening bolt, and eye dropper. Big shout out to Raymond Hill for his incredible work, and a HUGE middle finger to Google.
- (2025-08-12) Martin Gatzweiler (MrGatzi): works like intended 100/10
- (2025-08-12) lit felitz: I love you, developer(s)
- (2025-08-12) Tom: The original one is way better, but unfortunately google blocked it out completely now, might be better to switch to firefox now..
- (2025-08-11) nikolay: An absolute joke of an extension. The worst of them all. It's like the a toddler made it.
- (2025-08-10) yassine kari: wow, we want this we need this
- (2025-08-10) Imad Ez-zahi: Keep it up! We still need you until the internet is dead. :)
- (2025-08-09) Christopher B: Recently it's been causing more issues and breaking websites. The 'proceed' option also never works for me. It was alright when originally switching from uBlock Origin, but I have no idea what they did to make it so much worse.
