I was using Imagus before: Imagus did also display videos (gif, mp4, ...) for easy download. This one doesnt - up to now

Idk what kind of black magic imagus does, but it would always find the highest res version of what i'm hovering over, not just the thumbnail. it's really useful for that. (it appears hover zoom does this too) this just seems to pull from whatever thumbnail i'm hovering over, which ends up often being the same size of what i can already see. any chance you could replicate that feature? because it's probably the most important aspect of an addon like this to me

Needs a right click and zoom with scroll wheel option like Imagus. Should've used Imagus as the template for your extension. Please consider adding those options. How do I save an image?

As many have said, this is a great replacement for Imagus. Not perfect, but greatly appreciated. Some fixes/features I would really like to request: - When saving an image, it always defaults to the "Saved Pictures" folder instead of remembering the location of the previous save which can be really annoying when saving a lot of reference images. - Being able to use 'Ctrl' to trigger the image view but then being able to release it without the viewer closing. - Ability to right-click the HD image viewer to perform the usual right-click options without the viewer closing. - When selecting to open image in a New Tab an option to open it without switching to the new tab. - Mouse wheel zoom feature (as someone requested previously). Apologies if that's a lot. Again, very grateful to even have this extension in the first place.

This application does everything I need it to do which is opening a zoomed in pop-up of an image I'm hovering over. I also appreciate that there is an option to display information about the source image on the hovering image preview. For the info display, can the size of the text and the color of the background for the info display be changed or customzied?

One word , the BEST.

It's not as smooth as Imagus but works fairly well for the most part. When it doesn't however, it crashes websites (BlueSky for example). It's easy enough to disable it for certain websites, but if it doesn't work on social media, it doesn't work.

Request: Please add mouse wheel zoom support Hello and thank you for this excellent extension — PhotoShow is incredibly useful for checking product images quickly, especially for e-commerce sellers like me. One feature I would really love to see added is support for mouse wheel zoom while hovering over the enlarged image. Being able to zoom in/out with the scroll wheel would greatly improve usability, especially when inspecting fine details like scratches or labels. It would be amazing if you could add an option in the settings to enable/disable wheel-based zoom. Thanks again for your great work!

Very good replacement for Imagus. Great job to PhotoShow's author, Vincent! btw I'm on PC, and if you want to disable PhotoShow for any specific website then go to that website and then left click the pinned PhotoShow icon at top of your browser to open its pop-up window, then select the ON/OFF toggle button. If you can't see the ON/OFF toggle button, like I couldn't, then slide the scrollbar at the bottom of the pop-up window to the right then the ON/OFF toggle button should scroll into view. Enjoy. :)

A really good replacement for Imagus. Pretty much does exactly what it needs to, even with gifs, thumbnails and videos.

Works just as good as IMAGUS - change view mode to FIT and check center, and its like imagus.

It can now be displayed at maximum size! The best!

Well I'll be damned. I was pretty bummed about Imagus (which served me for years) with the whole MV2 thing and I decided to try this one out of sheer curiosity. Pretty impressed overall. If you could make it work with link post thumbnails on Facebook feed that would be great.

Excellent extension. A lot nicer and smoother than what I was using and works better on more sites like twitter and instagram. Glad I tried it. One small suggestion that would improve it: When I have the full image open on a new tab and I hover over it, it shows the image again and I can tab to open another new tab with the same image. This is a bit redundant. Maybe if the image url matches the page I'm on nothing should happen

Works really well on Instagram, and this one DOES NOT CAUSE cloudflare loop 👍 edit: on Instagram, when you're in someone's page, hover over the thumbnail works well, but if you click the photo thumbnail that have more than 1 image in it, the next image is not detected by the extension. edit 1: I sent you video explanation, thanks for responding to users review.

Q: How can I make the image remain displayed when the cursor is moved away? It show the images in original, or close to, size and resolution! Totally Awesome!

It's almost perfect. If the developer reads this, please add a hotkey to open images in a new tab WITHOUT switching to the new tab. That is possible with the extension I currently use (Imagus) and is the the main feature that keeps me from switching to this one.

The best one available in May 2025. It does not only enlarge the photos but in high quality, impressed. Deleted all the other ones, this app is awesome. I recommend PhotoShow. It is literally a hidden gem.

Seems to work well, and I like the ability to customize how it behaves with all the settings. But one disappointment is on Reddit, which it only zooms slightly on thumbnails (old-style reddit, btw), no matter which setting for size of the popup. Older hoverzoom apps did a better job on Reddit at sufficiently enlarging the thumbs, but now I have to click on the image normally, slowing down approving submissions (for moderating). This behavior might be just on old-style reddit (which not that many people use, in favor of the newer slop-bucket feed like most other soc-media use), but it means this app can't help me in one of the most important cases I need an app like this for.

Solved all my problems, since the best image zooming extensions (Hoverzoom+ or Imagus) no longer works with the new Chrome. But make it easier to blacklist some sites! Thanks!

Works well for pictures but should allow to view GIFs and videos by hovering like hover zoom did.

how do i edit the hotkeys?

I like how it looks but I'm stuck using Hover Zoom+ because when hovering over thumbnails that extension will show the full image size while this one can't. EDIT: Managed to find some sites where Hover Zoom+ wont work but PhotoShow does so that's something. Though it is semi working with ca.pinterest.com while in whitelist mode upon opening the site it wont work unless I toggle it off and on again. Turns out this is really random, either it'll happen or it wont so I don't know why.

A very good and useful extension. I like to open the photo in a new tab and download it easily. I recommend it.

Wanted this to be a replacement for HoverZoom but it just breaks way on too many sites, even popular ones like Gmail (search bar constantly downloading the image unless you type X first). Ended up crawling back to hover zoom, which hopefully they'll update it so it doesn't get removed 🤞

I want to be able to put my cursor over the loaded image preview so I can context it like imagus allows. Please configure that the image can load under cursor as a view location?? Also fetching save link and load in tab is not working on Flickr Wonderful to see an updated image fetcher, this is underrated QOL improvement.

Really great! The only things that should make it perfect for me are a blacklist feature and an option to have the image pop-up over your cursor or in the middle of the page.

DEVELOPERS. Can you please improve Craigslist.org. I used for many years "Imgus" extension. And google is killing that extension. The way it works is if you see a post on craigslist it will enlarge the picture of the thumbnail without clicking on the post, but if there are more picture, you could use the mouse wheel to scroll through them. It's not working with PhotoShow. With PhotoShow you have to click and open the post to go through other pictures. Other problem is when you click on a post and it has a big picture and small thumbnails beneath it inside, thumbnails don't enlarge unless you click on them. It works with Imgus. Another problem I discovered is when switching tabs. I went to a tab that it was working on, and now it's not. I had to refresh the tab. Seems like it stops working after switching around a couple of open tabs. And any chance to remove the animation and set duration of how long the mouse needs to hover would be great.

For those users who lack video support, I suggest you try the Imagus / Imagus Mod extension. Search "Imagus Reddit" (Imagus community) to get more information about it.

This extention got my instagram account deleted, and i'm sure it's this extention because they kept giving me "instagram suspected automated behavior" warnings when I had it turned on. Instagram wouldn't even let me log in when I had it turned on. I had to go the photoshow settings and blacklist instagram in order to log in again. Good app, but be warned it might affect your instagram account.

It works great, though I'm tossing in a 3-Star for a few reasons. • The magnification isn't exactly magnification, it just enlarges the image a small bit • Images shown on something like Reddit, where an image could be posted, should enlarge the image to a larger resolution and bigger viewing angle • Hover feature is a bit too sensitive, there needs to be a safe zone on the outer side of the image before it enlarges, or the ability to enable a button you can tap to enlarge the image. Other than the minor complaints, the add-on so far is really decent and it definitely outdoes the previous popular choice, Imagus as the devs have left that project abandoned. Seeing continued work to make this better than the simplicity of Imagus would be awesome, and I'm in full support as it's basically drag and drop.
