This is a simple extension which provides a toolbar button that allows you to go back to the tab that opened the current tab. It also defines Ctrl+Shift+E as a shortcut key.

Hi, Your choice of keyboard shortcut (ctrl-shift-B) unfortunately clashes with the existing shortcut to show/hide the bookmarks bar. Could you modify the shortcut to something else? Thanks for the really useful extension!
