Open Tabs Next to Current
Open new tabs to the right of the current one.
Open Tabs Next To Current
=========================
Open tabs that would normally be opened last next to the current one. Tabs that are being re-opened are thus not included. You can use `Ctrl-Y` (`Ctrl-Shift-Y` on Windows) to open a new tab at the default location.
Note for Chrome
---------------
Keyboard shortcuts are not automatically set up. You need to do that manually on the extension page in settings.
Note for Firefox
----------------
Tabs that are opened by clicking on links are opened at the default location. You can change the setting `browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent` in `about:config` if you want even those to be opened right next to the current.
Known Issues
------------
Caused by limitations of the webextension API, see
https://github.com/sblask/webextension-open-tabs-next-to-current/issues/26
and
https://github.com/sblask/webextension-open-tabs-next-to-current/issues/29:
- tabs are visibly moved to their final position
- the tab bar is scrolled so the opened tab becomes the first visible one on
the left (Firefox only)
- when opening multiple tabs at once, only one of them is opened at the right
position

This increases my productivity at least 2x.
amazing, happy i found it, thank you so much, i am using with brave.
Works poorly. It opens the first tab next to the current tab but then opens new tabs after the that tab and so on. FAIL!
While this works flawlessly. I have one issue. as i have around 30 tabs it opens in the next tab but scrolls to the last. please fix so that it stays at the same position since the next tab will be just around the current tab.
I've been suffering for so long This saved me

Hi, I would like to switch: ctrl+t= normal new tab, and ctrl+y= this tab opening. can you change that for me? or i can change it myself?
No longer working.
Works great!
Doesn't work.
I have been using this extension for quite a few years now from when I switched browsers from Maxthon to Chrome. It has reliably always worked without any issues for a number of years.
YES! FINALLY! WORKS ON BRAVE ALSO!
Wow, I really wish I could have found or had this extension in my browser years ago. I had no idea that this was even possible to do in an extension. When I started searching the web for open source forked versions of Chromium that would open up new tabs after the current one, this extension came up as the first result, thankfully. Edit: Actually, I only wanted an extension like this to work on new, blank tabs. I like how when I middle-click on links, it starts adjacent to the current, but it grows rightward from there. Fortunately, I found an alternative extension called "New Adjacent Tab, and I can set the keyboard shortcut for that extension to ctrl+t overriding the browser default keyboard shortcut. I can't really take away any stars for my review though. It does what it says it will do. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/new-adjacent-tab/fommpldicogfgegfpcoibmhkbbdpodjg
It's a very simple but effective extension that we shouldn't need - it doesn't make sense to open a new tab at the end of all other tabs. Chrome, please just add this feature already

Great work! This helps a lot when you have a lot of tabs open.

Simple yet very useful. Wish this part of every browser as a option.

It certainly opens a new tab next to current, but if you have scrollable tabs option enabled in chrome flags it scrolls to the last tab every time...

Chrome tab opening defaults are unchangeable and makes browsing frustrating. Why would I want a new tab open to the far right of the tab bar when my current tab is on the far left? Whether it's a new tab or clicking a link from my mailbox, Chrome opens at the end of the tab bar. Finally decided to search for a solution, and after digging through the settings it was clear Google has no configurability that will make it easier to use. So I searched the Chrome store and found this free extension. I'm using it for a week or so and it makes browsing much better. Would definitely recommend to others.

All in all, sadly, not good :/ My personal Issues: 1: The classic problem of Chrome still scrolling to the end of your tabs (I have chrome://flags/#scrollable-tabstrip enabled), which gets annoying quick. What I do to counteract this is to press Ctrl+Shift+Tab, Ctrl+Tab (or which ever shortcut is linked to left tab, right tab). With 280 tabs open, that's worth it. I then made a shortcut for that with AHK, now I can just press F2 to "scroll the active tab into focus" 2: It focuses on the right tab after closing one, which may have never been focused this session. Why are we focusing this tab? There was no indication made that we're interested in this tab! ^^ If it's a tab with autoplayable media on focus, suddenly your browser is loading, then autoplaying what ever is there. Not cool. Opening a tab is just half the story, there should be a way to decide what to do when it is closed as well. 3. Lack of customization Do you want to control whether this behavior to apply to the "new tab" button as well? Would you like a separate shortcut? What should happen when you close a tab? Would you maybe like to be able to toggle this on and off without digging through your list of extensions? Well tough tiddies, you ain't getting any of that! There are other issues people reported, but they either don't bother me or I haven't encountered them yet, so I won't include them in this review. Just know that they're out there, fellow extension seeker
