- (2023-10-25) Jeff Andrews: PSA: This extension is deprecated and no-longer works. At some point a new extension replaced this one (seems myself and a few others missed the email on that). The correct extension to be using is: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/1password-%E2%80%93-password-mana/aeblfdkhhhdcdjpifhhbdiojplfjncoa
- (2023-07-31) Robert Heinecke: Stopped working. I have no problem paying an annual fee, but I have no interest in having my passwords stored on a company's servers. Terrible decision for both security and user experience.
- (2023-06-05) High V: used to be useful. not any more.
- (2023-06-04) Huy Zing: This classic extension is the only one worth using. Yeah, I'll be moving to BitWarden the day that this extension stops working. F*** subscriptions and passwords-in-the-cloud. 🤦
- (2023-04-16) Mark Jamieson: Broken in Chrome 113.X, 114.X (regression by Chrome/Chromium team) - plug-in is greyed out. Works fine in Chrome 112.X. Bitwarden and Enpass are viable alternatives that have manifest V3 support. AgileBits bait-and-switched to a subscription model (1Password 8.x), ditched the older version (1Password 7.x), to please their corporate interests/shareholders. Not storing passwords on Cloud :)
- (2023-01-23) Руслан Баночкин: Спасибо за вечную поддержку своего приложения.
- (2023-01-23) Stephen Inoue: This extension conflicts with logging into some websites. Example indiegala dot com won't work with it and you'll be frustrated manually trying to log in until you disable 1Password's prompt in the extension settings. Took me weeks to figure it out and I was just switching to another browser until then.
- (2023-01-03) Robert G.: So much for "life time" support - once paid for it, now it's not working anymore. As a long-time user, I will need to look for other products on the market, who will keep their promises.
- (2022-11-09) Alexander Sundström: I've been using this for many years now and it has been a good experience until recent. I'm using it with my icloud, and have paid for the app for my mac in the beginning when i started using it. All of a sudden everytime I use this extension, I get a big splash for upgrading to an account that cost per month, EVERY SINGLE TIME I login at ANY PAGE. This is such an awful user experience, and really affects my satisfaction with this product.
- (2022-08-16) Jules Nickerson: This was working for a long time until I re-installed Chrome, and now I can't get the extension to work anymore. It says it can't verify the signature of the browser (or something like this) every time I open Chrome. I have tried reinstalling Chrome and the extension with no luck. I am using 1Password 6 Any help would be appreciated.
- (2022-07-14) undefined: 1password8 不能用干嘛啦?
- (2022-06-24) Paulius N: The extension will brake if you have 1password 6 and 7 running at the same time.
- (2022-06-24) Nick Taylor: Useless with 1Password 8, delete and get the current extension. Took me months of frustration to figure this out!
- (2022-06-18) Jeremy G: I've been supporting 1Password (on a paid standalone license) and been an active promoter of AgileBits for more than 10 years now. AgileBits no longer offers support for 1Password standalone users who rely on this extension, and have no intention to fix it, as they're hungry for paid subscription revenue. It's unfortunate that AgileBits won't provide the minor update needed to support their earliest adopters.

- (2022-05-07) Sven Gebhardt: This extension has been abandoned and won't work with 1Password 8. https://1password.community/discussion/124247/classic-extension-for-1password-v8

- (2022-04-28) Matt Cornelisen: 1Password sold a piece of software with a promise of lifetime access and support including this extension. 1Password lied. This extension doesn't work as promised anymore and they have stated in replies here that they aren't going to fix it. They did this simply so they could start charging extra monthly fees to people who were told they'd have lifetime access for a single price. Do not use 1Password. Use Avira Password Manager or any of the other options available. Do not trust this company.
- (2022-04-25) Dom Tinley: Broken
- (2022-04-22) xl l: It doesn't work with the new Chrome update
- (2022-04-21) Brandon B: 1Password is finally deciding to screw its most loyal user base--the original backers who purchased 1Password years ago. I foolishly have recommended 1Password for years to anyone who would listen. No more. I will recommend any password manager OTHER than 1Password, and warn people against them.
- (2022-04-19) Sasha Kalmikov: Not working. 1Password want you to switch to their paid subscription model.
- (2022-04-14) Stephen Robb: 1Password 6 extension no longer works with an updated Chrome browser. I have been a loyal supporter for at least half a dozen years. This really is too bad and leaves me looking for other options.
- (2022-04-13) K D: Unless you can enable FaceiD on the browser for mac with the other extension, please dont remove this extension.

- (2022-04-09) Flavia Ricci: Funktioniert mit Chrome V100.0 (MacOs Catalina) nicht mehr! ABOZWANG. Ohne Abo keine Funktionalität. 1Password ist über die letzten Jahre immer schlechter und teurer geworden. Nach dem letzten Chrome Update geht nichts mehr. Ihr habt mir den Umstieg auf Bitwalden leicht gemacht. Danke!
- (2022-04-08) Marlon Hort: Used to be great, now it's pretty much broken for the latest versions of Chrome, please fix this 1Password team!
- (2022-03-23) Yoga de la Voix WebTV: impossible a utiliser avec Chrome qui doit etre mis a jour très souvent. Client depuis de longues années, je passe à la concurrence...
- (2022-03-23) Ricardo Martins: Doesn't work since March/22. Now you have to pay for a subscription and upload your passwords to their servers. Enpass seems to be an alternative with local vault file, but still needs to be improved (interface, performance, etc) to be similar to 1password6. The firefox plugin still works (tested up to Firefox 98).
- (2022-03-22) C Marxson: This extension used to work great but it looks like 1Password has intentionally disabled all of its functionality for customers who purchased 1Password6 and earlier. I understand adding additional functionality and letting consumers decide whether to upgrade, but crippling software from paying customers in order to extract more money from them is pretty atrocious.
- (2022-03-22) Steven P: SOLUTION BRIEFLY - REVERT TO OLDER CHROME FROM BACKUP - AND BLOCK AUTO UPDATE: If you have a backup that was made before this Chrome update, then revert the older Chrome and block it from auto updating. 1Password will work again. It's very easy but you need Little Snitch. STEPS: 1) First of all, you will need to overwrite the new Chrome with an older version of Chrome from a backup. Overwriting the app itself is enough, you don't need to mess with application support files, you can keep those. But make sure you ZIP this old version and keep it somewhere safe forever, this will be probably the last working Chrome for 1Password 6. 2) Replace the newer Chrome (which doesn't support 1Password) with the old version. 3) Keep Little Snitch's network monitoring open 4) Go into Chrome, Click the "Chrome" Menu, and click the "About". It will trigger the autoupdate 5) In Little Snitch, look for a process called "Google Software Update via ksfetch". This should be on top of the list when the auto update starts. Block this process from accessing the internet. 6) There is a chance that the old version got updated when you clicked "About", so you may have to copy the old version again, but this time it will never update again, even if you click "About" (it will give you an error message) I hope it helps someone 1PASSWORD TEAM: I am willing to pay for an update of 1Password, but I am not willing to pay a single penny for a subscription. There are many alternatives, even good free ones like Bitwarden. It's beyond me why you prefer to lose a LOT of customers. I can accept if you charge for a security update every now and then, but NO to subscription.
- (2022-03-21) Danny Tran: I've been surfing this old extension for many years now, I believe this might be the end. 1Password announced that Chrome 99 has a new signature cert which isn't validating with the extension anymore 😢 https://support.1password.com/kb/202203/
- (2022-03-21) Elena Rey: This extension can't use in the latest version Chrome browser. message from https://support.1password.com/kb/202203/
- (2022-03-20) Peter Anthony: No longer works. I see the message "1Password can't verify the identity of your web browser". Here is my configuration: * Chrome Version 99.0.4844.83 (Official Build) (x86_64) * 1Password 6.8.9 * macOS 12.2.1
- (2022-03-20) Константин Яковлев: The extension does not work in the browser Chrome 99.0.4844.74
- (2022-03-20) Sam V: Stopped working as everyone else is mentioning.
- (2022-03-20) Carlo Vinci: This has been working for years with 1Password 6 (standalone version). Now with with the extension I get the "Can't verify the identity of your web browser" error and I have not found an online solution that works. Hopefully this is fixed soon!
- (2022-03-20) C Molay: I'm very dissatisfied with the 1Password development team's behavior to stop providing support for version 6.8.9. March 15, 2022 Chrome plugins suddenly stop working, and there is no solution (unless you pay to upgrade to a subscription service, which I hate so much), which is very irresponsible. In fact, instead of restricting users from having to spend money to upgrade to a subscription service, the development team could open-source the Chrome plugin for version 6.8.9 and let the community maintain it. And if the 1Password development team provides a standalone version and offers an upgrade discount for old users, I would also be willing to pay for it. Now this behavior of forcing users to pay to upgrade to a subscription service is disgusting. All in all, very disappointed with the 1Password development team, waiting for an improved KeePassXC-based project to emerge from the open source community.
- (2022-03-19) zhou xuying: remove and reinstall, then it worked!
- (2022-03-19) Dmitry Bigunyak: The extension can no longer verify the identity of latest Chrome version and stopped working. There still many happy users of old 1password standalone applications which need this extension to work with browser autofilling, please fix it.
- (2022-03-18) Laura Scott: This extension was great, but now it no longer works, just has vague text that it requires the desktop app, but now that 1Password is pushing everyone to their subscription version, this extension seems to have been left to languish unsupported, along with the desktop version we paid for. This only pushes more people to use Google's own password storage. But in this day and age, SECURITY IS TREATED AS A PREMIUM FEATURE, not a baseline essential.
- (2022-03-18) Paul Rumohr: For absolutely no reason, the extension stopped recognizing Google chrome. Would not work after removing or reinstalling. Followed a forum tip to try to use a terminal command to reset 1Password and restarted my browser. Nothing works, and this really sucks 1Password!
- (2022-03-02) Jon Brown: This one actually works! Don't use those other 1Password extensions.
- (2022-02-09) R Eden: I was using an older, free version of 1Password on Chrome and it was great. Today, I updated to paid version of 1Password and WHAT A MESS. If you are on the fence about updating, DO NOT. One, my vault doubled all of my passwords and logins. Two, the chrome extension does not work at all, I have tried using the older extension, but nope, it does not work. The extension tells me to enter my password, which I do, it says my PW is incorrect and make sure the caps are on and try again. I have the desktop one unlocked, so why is it repeatedly telling me to unlock the web browser extension. Third, if you're on Chrome and you click where the blue and white 1Password logo is, it says to press "shift+command+x" to unlock 1password, which then tells you to retype in your 1Password password to unlock the browser extension, I again enter my PW and it WILL NOT unlock. How frustrating, a paid product that does not work
- (2022-02-04) Julian Pawlowski: Does not work on Windows anymore, really frustrating! The "new! addin is not a good replacement as it lacks desktop integration, keyboard shortcuts, global unlock of the vaults, etc ... How dare you, Agilebits !!
- (2022-01-21) Justin Ho: I'm a 1Password 4 user. After upgrading to Big Sur, this extension would kill my battery. Must be a memory leak or something. Not sure if they fixed it yet or if they will.
- (2022-01-20) Chris Reynolds: So glad I can still install this "Classic" extension, my 1Password flow is seamless, effortless, and amazing with this extension! The "New" (and recommended) 1Password browser extension is awful!
- (2021-12-27) Gerry P: I use Brave Nightly browser and installed the new and improved (not) 1Password extension, and upon opening, didn't like it much. I also use Brave that still has the legacy extension of 1Password, which to me, is a lot less cluttered. Get the legacy app here https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/ BTW Google Chrome is the worst browser you can use, but that's only my opinion.
