Vimium
The Hacker's Browser. Vimium provides keyboard shortcuts for navigation and control in the spirit of Vim.
*NOTE* Google does not allow Vimium to run on this Chrome Web Store page and the Chrome New Tab page, by design. Sorry about that!
*NOTE* Chrome has some alarmist messaging around the permissions that Vimium needs to run. Really all it's asking for is that Vimium's javascript be loaded into every page. Don't be alarmed. Vimium never talks to any servers and does absolutely nothing with your data. Read the open source code if you're curious.
For more information about rebinding your keys and how to use many of Vimium's features, see here: https://github.com/philc/vimium/blob/master/README.md
Modifier keys are specified as <c-x>, <m-x>, <a-x> for ctrl+x, meta+x, and alt+x respectively.
Navigating the current page:
? show the help dialog for a list of all available keys
h scroll left
j scroll down
k scroll up
l scroll right
gg scroll to top of the page
G scroll to bottom of the page
d scroll down half a page
u scroll up half a page
f open a link in the current tab

i enter insert mode -- all commands will be ignored until you hit esc to exit

O Open URL, bookmark, history entry in a new tab

/ enter find mode -- type your search query and hit enter to search or esc to cancel
n cycle forward to the next find match
N cycle backward to the previous find match
Navigating your history:
H go back in history
L go forward in history
Manipulating tabs:
J, gT go one tab left
K, gt go one tab right
g0 go to the first tab
g$ go to the last tab
t create tab
x close current tab
X restore closed tab (i.e. unwind the 'x' command)
T search through your open tabs
Additional advanced browsing commands:
]] Follow the link labeled 'next' or '>'. Helpful for browsing paginated sites.
[[ Follow the link labeled 'previous' or '<'. Helpful for browsing paginated sites.
<a-f> open multiple links in a new tab
gi focus the first (or n-th) text input box on the page
gu go up one level in the URL hierarchy
Vimium supports command repetition so, for example, hitting '5t' will open 5 tabs in rapid succession. ESC (or <c-[>) will clear any partial commands in the queue and will also exit insert and find modes.

Really improves my browsing experience.
I'm glad I found this. Thanks for building it!
I love you guys thanks for that !!
Love this extension and I use it every day. Browsing without a mouse is fantastic.
Disable enable-experimental-web-platform-features browser flag if you want this extension to work as advertised.
Pretty handy and easy to learn. A must to have tool if you wanna be mouselessness
A recent update (either to the browser or extension) made it so hitting `x` will sometimes close a seemingly random window, instead of the window you have selected. This has caused me to lose a lot of work.
This is the first extension I always install
One of the most useful tools I've ever used. The one who come up with this plugin must be a genius.
This extension is a godsend for anyone who has even the surface-level knowledge of vim. The biggest joy I get from it is performing code review - I barely need to touch mouse: scrolling, opening file in a new tab, marking files as viewed or folding them down - all of this is done without touching the mouse and that is very pleasant. The only thing I use the mouse for is commenting specific lines. This change brought me so much joy I couldn't help but write the review after weeks of using the extension Reading texts became more pleasant as well - no need to hold my hand asymmetrically on the mouse - just on the keyboard. Less hand strain, less spine strain, quicker route to switching apps or tabs
Make browsing experience better
please fix custom css as it was before last update
After the July 1, 2025 update, custom CSS does not work properly.
Awesome extension!
I can't imagine using a browser without vimium after getting used to it.
Not sure what the devs did, but absolutely does not work anymore. See all vim keys but it's completely broken
Nice thought and great work
If you love Vim, you will love this tools
After carpal tunnel syndrome I found moving from keyboard to mouse very painful. This extension has really improved my working day!
This extension is exactly what I was looking for. It covers all my needs
Time saver for keyboard based navigation. I use "f" all the time to "click" on the button i see
Recommended for anyone lazy to use mouse
To be honest, it saves time a lot but I don't understand why it's called the hackers browser
Rating 5 in my terminal using vim
Wow I love the customizability of this plugin! Really embodies the spirit of Vim

I live my happy programmer's life with this plugin. Thanks!
Thank you very much, developers of this extension. It’s an incredible solution—saving time and reducing hand strain. Wishing you great success!
God's work. 10/10
Excellent software.
1000% Must Have. The very first thing I install just after Chrome is installed. Hat off - you do make this world Better!
amazing tool love this!!!
This one has become one of my go-to plugins. Thank you to the dev(s) for creating this 🙏
This is crazy good tool to boost your productivity. I don't have to reach my mouse for browsing. Best for coders.
Vimium is a game-changer for keyboard enthusiasts! It brings the power of Vim-style navigation to Chrome, making browsing faster and more efficient. The ability to open links, switch tabs, and scroll without touching the mouse is a huge productivity boost. Highly recommended for anyone who loves keyboard shortcuts!
Hands down the best extension for vim users! Improvements I can think of: - a caret or cursor for Visual mode at least. It is hard to know where my cursor is when selecting - Integration with with caret mode or built-in cursor would be the best - Cheatsheet page has "Advanced commands" view. It is a bit hard to tell which are advanced command or not. It would be amazing if we can visually distinguish between these two types. Thank you for your amazing work!
If you know vim keys, this is a must have. Combine with https://www.homerow.app/ and you'll never need to touch a mouse again. Needs to have settings sync.
This extension is amazing. Has changed my browser experience and made me 10X faster than using the mouse. If you pair it with a operating system based shortcut app such as shortcat and you will even forget you have a mouse. My only regret is not knowing this earlier. My colleagues at work are getting annoyed how much I talk about this extension.
This is one of the best extensions you can find, hands down.
It's really help when coding, I don't need to touch the mouse, thank you so much!
A must have on each browser install i do, best ever
For keyboard power users.
Best extension 🥰
Navigation with [f] key is by far the most useful. However, the UX, quality and accessibility can be pushed much further. That is why we implemented our alternative plugin, BrowseCut.
Sadly apparently every website I use (tried 5 or so different ones) besites google search does not allow to run this so sadly cant use it.
