- (2022-03-05) senselocke: Clunky, not clear where to go or what to do, but even after setting a long list of whitelisted/protected apps, it simply didn't delete unwanted cookies. Ever. Even when specifically directing it to, and a popup saying "500 cookies removed" or whatever, still have thousands using gigabytes of space I had to remove manually.
- (2022-02-16) l2HydH5: Amazing extension!!! At last I can get rid all cookies with a click while i keep those from the sites I need. No more useless logins and passwords!! Just great!!
- (2022-01-01) Rapid Rabbit: Avoid trying to add a subdomain to the whitelist rather than the root. For example, I was adding "finance.yahoo.com/portfolio" and yahoo kept making me sign back in every time. This was primarily due to a lack of understanding of how Vanilla works. To correct the problem, I added yahoo.com to the whitelist and ticked Include-Subdomains rather than adding finance.yahoo.com/portfolio. Perhaps better directions from the developer would be in order. Had I understood this, it would have saved me about four days of trial & error.
- (2021-12-18) TWG: Fantastic . Whitelisting is easy . Been using it for a while now - works great . Ace !
- (2021-12-15) bloodys spammers: SERIOUSLY POWERFUL COOKIE MANAGER, CAN EXPORT & IMPORT, & WORKS ON YANDEX BROWSER (MOBILE)!! 😁👍🏻😊🙏🏼 MY CONFIGURATION: *.adguard.com *.amazon.com *.auth.opera.com *.boardgamegeek.com *.connectingup.org *.ebay.com facebook.com *.google.com *.gumtree.com *.nordaccount.com passport.yandex.com *.paypal.com reseller.ds.network stacksocial.com *.tunnelbear.com *.yandex.* *.yandex.com *.youtube.com
- (2021-10-10) Joshua Daniels: Great. But, how do you export the whitelist? Says click Export then Copy but then what? How do you complete the process? That is why I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.
- (2021-09-13) John Chota: Just started with this extension. Do not understand setup. " If you do not want to remove unwanted cookies automatically you have to clear your cookies manually using the Vanilla icon in your omnibar. Do not auto delete unwanted cookies Clear unwanted cookies on startup, or Protect whitelisted cookies Please make sure that you are not using Keep local data only until I quit my browser in Chrome, otherwise all your cookies will be deleted! You can find this setting in Chrome, Options, Show advanced settings, Privacy - Content settings. Show changes when this extension is updated (View History) Hide the Vanilla omnibar icon - you will have to manage your whitelist manually on this options page! " Instructions do not appear to be up-to-date with latest Chrome. Cannot really use this until setup is correct.
- (2021-09-06) Eugenios Alexander: Like it a lot!
- (2021-09-01) Dave Whitman: Vanilla is working well for me, and I recommend it. One nitpick: The Omnibar icon is totally invisible if you're using the Windows Dark theme. Maybe fill in the cookie shape with white?
- (2021-07-19) 보라돌이: I would like to have more freedom with the delete time option. I want to set it in units of 1 minute and 1 second, not every 5 minutes.
- (2021-07-02) Sherif Aliti: Best or one of best extension ever - Keep browser clean WO removing wanted Cookie's
- (2021-06-22) Tim Beatty: A very clean-and-simple interface ...Mostly I love the "autodelete non-whitelisted after <n> minutes" feature.
- (2021-06-17) Андрей Селезнёв: Не работает!
- (2021-03-06) J. A.: This helps my Chromebox so much. I took a bite out of this Vanilla Cookie. My favorite sweet goes well with multiple profiles to keep this antique going. WIthout the bean, there'd be no multi-screens. For sure. Mad-Thanks!
- (2021-02-04) J. Salmonson: !@$ What is with the forced use of a white list? >:( Please get rid of that I hate it! Let me decide how and when I allow a site. Other than that bit of fussiness I love the extension. :)
- (2021-01-24) Brenda Thompson: IT WORKS! AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!:)
- (2021-01-22) Dave Wo: What happened? Been using this for years and was great. For past month or so,it will randomly say "add some urls to your whitelist" so it doesn't remember my whitelist, so it's always logging me out. Need to trash it until it gets fixed. Anyone know of a better solution?
- (2020-12-25) der. baron: Despite 2 days of work I can find no combination of Vanilla and Vivaldi settings that provides what I want I want a setup that whitelists cookies that I want to keep and Vivaldi set to session only for all other cookies Some websites manage to evade settings that should work, Vanilla cannot do that which it claims
- (2020-12-22) Noble Digital: Used to work. Now it's doing weird things "Whitelist is empty - please add some sites!" while leaving 6000 cookies in place. Why would I need to create a white list to remove cookies. PS - adding sites didn't help the problem. This app is broken
- (2020-12-21) Bartek Sandacz: super
- (2020-11-01) J J: This extension doesn't remove cookies in Chrome Settings Date site. I tried it several times on several different web pages and the cookies are still there. It's therefore useless. Note: It seems as though every cookie extension in the Web Store works like this, they don't remove all cookies.
- (2020-09-14) Costas Ganis: Works great.
- (2020-08-28) Conrad Koehler: Still works in 2020! Choose the sites whose cookies you want to keep (probably mostly to allow permanent logins) and have all others deleted when you restart the browser. So simple, so good.
- (2020-08-21) Denise Allen: A doddle- 5 stars.
- (2020-08-19) Jay Cie: For me personally having a cookie whitelist for my hundreds of login and data cookies on sites I use is an absolute necessity. I have been using the "Cookies" (now called "Cookie Editor") extension with great success ... until the new update incredibly removed the whitelist function! But the older "Cookies" was a perfect cookie manager, it featured an attractive intuitive UI, and a list of every cookie on the computer, making it easy to go down and quickly check the ones to be added to the whitelist ... and once added, they stayed in the whitelist, unlike, for example, the "Click and Clean" "cookie manager" where every time you clean cookies you must go through them all and perform the whitelist all over again! Incredibly time-consuming. I just began using Vanilla Cookie Manager and putting the cookies in the whitelist with this extension is very cumbersome -- each cookie must be added one by one -- thus I've taken a star off. But if the cookies will now at least stay in the whitelist, that will at least be a tremendous improvement over "Click&Clean" where they don't.
- (2020-08-04) n ascentt: Abandonware. Was amazing, but doesn't work anymore. Fails to protect whitelisted cookies when exiting Chrome. Also, please add whitelist/config sync. use cookiebro instead
- (2020-07-19) Steven: Unfortunately, the extension stopped working in 2019. That's not surprising, since it was last updated in 2014. Three stars because it continued to work for so long after losing support.
- (2020-03-28) Loco Mole: UNINSTALLED! CPU spikes up with this extension enabled, and cookies are not cleared well. ALL OPEN TABS are reloaded every time I change settings, which is so unnecessary. Switched to Cookiebro, which has blocked/cleared cookies better, without the issues that this extension has.
- (2020-02-02) David Maton: It was amazing for as long as it worked. Somewhere in 2019 it stopped working fore me after an chrome update. After trying a couple of extensions ended up with Cookiebro.
- (2019-11-11) dex otaku: Sadly this plugin has stopped working, possibly as a result of changes to Chromium that have blocked the way it was working before (mid-2019). Cookiebro seems to pick up where this left off. Previously would have rated this 5 stars, so the fact that I'm leaving 1 now actually means something.
- (2019-11-05) Rich: I've been using this since its 'invention' and it has never failed me. I need something that easily deletes all the cookies I don't have in my Whitelist without my having to think about it, and this does it perfectly. If you know what you're doing when you sent it up properly, it works perfectly and has never failed me. There aren't many addons or extensions I've ever been able to say that about!
- (2019-10-13) Edoardo Pasca: So far it does what it says! At that is what I hoped. Great!
- (2019-10-06) Useless Pro: mostly useless. Does not give you access to a list of cookies to deal with, works with long precompiled lists instead which you can edit inderectly.
- (2019-08-20) Mike P: The section - "Recommended usage: add desired sites to your whitelist .... etc Needs an option to "Delete unwanted cookies NOW"
- (2019-07-25) Simon Ghoul: great but my cookies on all sites including whitelisted ones had been getting deleted lately... I am not sure why this is, but it could had been anything else (My disk health is on caution, or chrome updates, or other stuff) I am going to figure out how to fix this and if I get it fixed I'll turn it to 5 stars. Right now I just tried unchecking the "protect whitelisted sites" (my settings are not set to delete cookies after I close chrome) This extension is great, does the job, let's you whitelist cookies. It's excellent. I recommend it.
- (2019-07-04) Willem van Geldrop: Great extension!! Only lacks sync feature, that would make it 5 stars!
- (2019-06-28) Al Brat: Target Audience: all users who wants to easily clean up intrusive tracking cookies from unknown websites, but without losing data like their recently viewed items on sites they trust and visit regularly, like Amazon. Lightweight, as easy to use as an Ad-Blocker, and works wonderfully, unlike other "more advanced" cookie managers which most users do NOT need (since they don't know how to edit cookies). But here's a quick missing manual to get started with Vanilla Cookie: 1- Left Click on Vanilla cookie icon then Options, to open the cookie manager interface in a tab 2- Scroll down, and click on "Sites with unwanted cookies" further down the page. 3- For each site whose cookies you want to keep (ex: amazon.com), click on the link, then scroll all the way up, you'll see that site in the whitelist add box, click add and check the box for "include-subdomains", then scroll back down to continue scanning your "unwanted cookies" list (Developers: this step's the counter-intuitive one which may frustrate novice users: it took me a bit of time to figure out how to interact with that "unwanted cookies list". Also a "checkmark all the cookies to whitelist in bulk" instead of all this up and down scrolling to get started would improve the GUI a lot!). 4- Repeat, the "click on link in unwanted cookies you wanna keep", scroll, click add to whitelist, until you're SURE you've whitelisted every site's cookies you want untouched! 5- In "Recommended usage" click "Clear Unwanted Cookies on Startup" 6- Restart your browser! All the bad cookies are gone and all the white listed ones are still there. You can now browse cleanly : ) 7- As you browse, new cookies'll be deleted next time you start your browser, so if you want to keep the cookie(s) from a new website (ex: your online grocery store), left click on the cookie icon while on the supermarket's page, then "add to whitelist". If you check Chrome's advanced settings "under the hood" this extension's conservative, in that it won't affect settings like zoom % for each page and other site-specific navigation preferences, which again is great for novice casual users. Many thanks to the developers, bc inspecting and cleaning cookies manually is tedious!
- (2019-04-03) Jack Z: Fills the gap in Chrome's cookie management by providing a white list for cookies. Now when I exit Chrome, I know cookies for all sites are deleted except selected ones where I want to stay logged on. Nicely done!
- (2019-03-18) James W: Great extension to add functionality that should just be there in chrome. Would be great if the ENTER key worked when manually typing in domains to whitelist (and the cursor focus returned to the data entry box). Thanks!
- (2018-12-25) Elizagail: REALLY COOL
- (2018-11-22) Rasheedah Julkiram: i want to understand using this. but it logs out my gmail account even being added to whitelist. my facebook does't logout though. can someone help me with this?
- (2018-09-30) ismail belli: addling a sync option with google account would be great.
- (2018-09-05) Adrian Skar: Doesn't work anymore; :-(
- (2018-08-30) Philip Clarke: Not one user who reported a real problem here in the review section received a reply from Vanilla. I counted 10 in total. I was stoked to try this out; whitelisted all the sites I wanted in Google Settings on in Vanilla but just kept getting logged out. Other reviews report the same issue and yet no reply from Vanilla. Seems like you have a winning product that works for most but some users get left behind. Too bad.
- (2018-08-24) Diane: I unistalled CCleaner due to recent security problems, so I was looking for a simple way to delete cookies while whitelisting the ones I want to keep. This is the solution. Very easy to use.
- (2018-06-19) Barbara Baskin: Perfect except it signs me out of all Google sites, and I do have it whitelisted.??
