Prevent companies from tracking your activities on Internet, WITHOUT breaking the websites you visit.
Here is why you should install Crumble:
- Prevents online tracking companies from creating your profile via cookies based on your online browsing
- It’s always up to date because it does not rely on a predefined list of online trackers
- By design does not offer preferential treatment to selected ad networks (unlike some other extensions)
- Does not break the user experience on websites you visit
- Does not hide any content on the websites you visit
- Shows instantly who is tracking you on websites you visit
How does it work?
Crumble intercepts 3rd party cookies and controls what information is sent back to the web tracking companies via cookies. This way we can prevent trackers following and profiling you via cookies based on the sites you visit.
Because, we control and don’t block 3rd party cookies, this means you will always get the full website experience; no broken plugins, no missing content, no weird behavior.
But wait! There’s more! Unlike other extensions that promise you a similar thing, we are doing all this by identifying the type of the cookie and not by keeping a blacklist of trackers. This allows us to block any new tracker as soon as it appears. No waiting time, no updating any list. Instant action.
This also means that we do not offer preferential treatment to trackers (aka whitelist them) unlike some other extensions.

- (2017-04-11) Dennis Blessing: Work well for me. Would like a few options. Whitelist by site basis. Overlay notice is annoying, you can't move it or turn it off. Also would be nice to see more specific information about cookies being blocked.
- (2017-02-05) Len Chelius: I'm not all that tech but it hasn't seem to slow down my flow of junk mail despite the blocking of all those cookies. Not even sure thats what it is suppose to be doing.
- (2016-12-22) LDASCZ ART: + all work - tracking about deleting
- (2016-11-05) Nice that it warns you. I kinda feel like it doesnt block anything though
- (2016-03-28) Web Guru: Hate the stupid popup that shows up in the bottom right every time something reloads. Also needs an exception option.
- (2015-12-21) Andrzej Jajko: za dużo blokuje tych co nas śledzą. Jak by blokowało tylko te niebiezpieczne i podejrzane firmy kóre nas śledzą to by było super
- (2015-11-20) Paulo Welslew: cleans up lots of tracking cookies and lets me see them. crumbling. lets me still view the sites i view w/o any problems. will speed up web browsing for you . unless you are shopping for something. then cookies may help you searches. ive just added it to another chrome account i love it!!
- (2015-07-13) Edited: This promises not to break web sites, but it just causes things to run slower. I can already make exceptions. This is an unnecessary add-on.
- (2015-07-01) Pam Moore: That's the way the cookie crumbles! :) Love it
- (2015-06-23) al monster: Helps me understand the number of cookies a user runs into just in the course of browsing the Internet. I wish there was a way to measure the amount of retargeting it is getting rid of.
- (2015-06-23) There is no option to allow per website exceptions or any exceptions. I can just block third party cookies and allow exceptions in Chrome BUT then, say you allow Facebook for Facebook comments - you are allowing Facebook everywhere. If you block all sites and allow exceptions its the same thing. Add per website exceptions and this becomes the cookie manager that Chrome doesn't want users to have. Edit: I have been just disabling it on sites I want to comment on and then re enabling it afterwards. I don't have to make third party exceptions. Occasionally something slips by and I make an exception so I won't see it again. 4 stars now till they add a per site exception.
- (2015-06-22) I use igHome and have Google Calendar on the page. Only problem is Crumble prevents it from being displayed. I guess it has something to do with a cookie. Too bad because I like what Crumble does but I also like having Google Calendar on igHome. Guess I'll disable Crumble.
- (2015-06-14) It's working perfectly. BUT why would you show an alert EVERYTIME you crumble a cookie? Think about your product guys... Is it your customer's need to see (in realtime) when you crumble a cookie?
- (2015-06-12) Bob Riccardo: Works well. But how about the ability to move it where I want or turn off the notification. Thanks Much!
- (2015-05-22) Cris McHurt: Helpful extension! One thing I would suggest is the ability to possibly whitelist certain website cookies. For example, I have to turn off Crumble whenever I want to use either Pocket or Buffer. Not exactly the end of the world, but being able to always have those two ignored would just be a nice time saver.
- (2015-05-16) 星野夏美: The overlay is extremely annoying especially when there is no option to disable it. They take FOREVER to disappear, which is even more annoying when I want to quickly print a page (oh and guess what, it gets printed if I press print before it disappears). While this plugin does its job of blocking tracking cookies and does it well, absolute, total lack of user control is a deal breaker.
- (2015-05-15) Al Chan: Great feature. It lets you know how many cookies are tracking you.
- (2015-05-12) R T: It of course breaks youtube and your ability to comment on videos but other than that it is fairly unobtrusive. Simple disable to comment on youtube. Just remember to re-enable. Stop using google products aside from Chrome itself.
- (2015-05-08) Ali Sinclair: i would have given it five but i only started a week ago so all good so far but i like to wait b4 giving 5 star but does what it says on the tin as the saying goes
- (2015-05-07) Mamsds Kong: 在用,可是作为用户不能感觉到到底发挥了多少作用~
- (2015-05-05) Alin Sfetcu: Once activated it breaks the ability to post youtube comments.
- (2015-05-04) Jeroen Flamman: Using the latest version of Chrome, I have no web pages breaking at all. Crumble does its job nicely. Would be good to be able to configure showing the detailed notification.. Feature request!
- (2015-04-30) travin mckain: Terrible. It breaks a lot of web pages, including google search. It just blows them up immediately. Pretty useless extension in it's current Version: 0.1.0.2beta. Use Privacy Badger instead.
- (2015-04-29) Zachary Haist: Good, but crashes Google search tabs
