Wikipedia Quick Hints
Display quick description of the terms in the Wikipedia article.
A simple extension that makes reading Wikipedia articles more convenient.
When reading how often do you have to open an additional cross-article just to glimpse quickly at the meaning of a term you do not know?
Now with Wikipedia Quick Hints getting definitions of unknown terms has become as simple as just hovering the cursor over a respective link. The definition pops up automatically. Images zooming is another useful feature of the extension.
See screenshots for example.

*** ATTENTION ***
Due to the changes Wikepedia developers made to the structure of the articles WikipediaQuickHints had a lot of problems with getting correct definition and hence in most cases poped up useless "Can not get definition for this term ..." message. Please report the problems so that I could fix problematic places.
Thank you for using it! :)

I like it very much, one thing isn't working though, pictures aren't showing, unlike the advertised pictures
UNTITLED #11 Immediately write a Wikipedia article about someone or something you think needs one but has none. Hornemann, C. (2024), Score 72 of 99, 3* !
Seems to run into a bug where it is unable to GET the content but very useful when it works. Also agree with Farley's comment about excessive question marks. Wikipedia provides different link colours for when content does not exist and this should be the exception rather than the rule. And incredibly with regard to Dmitriy's review, it seems Google has patented something which does exactly that as of June 23. Additionally, the timer for closing pop-ins could probably be doubled as it is very easy to accidentally mouse-off it. It could be helpful to add a close button as they sometimes get stuck.
I like the extension except for the small question mark under every highlighted word or phrase in the Wikipedia article. Just underline the word (which it does) and skip the question mark. All the subscript question marks on the page disrupt the flow of reading the article needlessly. We all get it, we know how to use the extension.

A'm absolutely love it. And want to find somewhat similar extension that previews content of visiting link but not exclusively for Wikipedia.

Amazing, I forgot I even had the extension until I recently got used a different browser. I thought wikipedia did the pop-ups by itself. But apparently, it's this extension. So useful. Thanks for making my life easier.

Great and extremely useful extension. IMO beats the built-in functionality in wikipedia. It does have some issues like buggy behavior when you have too many pop ups inside pop ups (by too many I mean like 3 or more)and some slight issues with pop ups not closing properly but overall it is a 4 to 5 stars extension.

No longer works sadly. Used to be an essential tool.

Does exactly what you want it to do. I have not found any cons to this extension. I Wikipedia everyday and this extension is a must have. Update: This extension no longer shows proper introduction paragraphs and only displays the image. It says the articles do not have the proper format. I'd love if this were updated to fix this. This is one of my favorite extensions and I'd like it to work again.

Now get in hints every time the message "Some articles do not have appropriate structure", before it has been worked very well.

Good extension, but buggy. I often have to click around sometimes to get rid of the popup.
Nice idea but there are problems: 1. Bad design 2. Very small text 3. Takes a bit of time to close even when I move my cursor 4. Those question marks
I like it and it's what I want, but the text is way too small. They need a better design.

Recommended extension, but it breaks the wikipedia logo at the top left.

I find my self check Wikipedia so often that i need a quick link to W. This extension with a click job done 90% of the times.
This changes everything. Information galore. I don't need to open every term that I need to know to understand an article now.

This is a fine feature, but it is a little slow to respond and hangs up, sometimes not closing for several minutes after the cursor has moved off of a word. I will probably uninstall and use the 'right-click' extension instead, but if you don't like the 'right-click' this is a perfectly good alternative.
