Extension Actions

Look up vocabulary and Kanji, translate Japanese into multiple languages using JP Dictionary (JP Jisho/JP 辞書/JP じしょ)
Click on the extension icon to toggle the functions on or off.
1) Look up when selected
Select Japanese text to look it up.
(Click on the extension icon to select your language.)
2) Quick translation by hovering
Hover over the text to translate.
3) Look up with right-click
Select text → Right-click → Click "Search on JP Dictionary" to look up, analyze, and translate the text.
4) Look up on the search bar
In the browser's search bar, type "jp" + space → Enter the word or sentence you want to look up.
Tips:
- Turn off the checkbox when not in use.
- Click on vocabulary or Kanji in the popup to see detailed content and comments.
- Double-click to highlight a word, and triple-click to highlight a sentence.
- Hold down Alt to highlight links.
- If you use Edge, you can use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + X to copy buttons or blocked parts, then look them up in the search bar (type "jp" + space → paste the copied content) for a quick lookup.
- JP Dictionary can recognize handwritten characters and perform image recognition. Visit jpdictionary.com to use this feature.

- This extension is cool, because when you highlight a word, phrase, or sentence, then click on the purple dictionary icon that appears, you can then click on the speaker icon 🔊 and a cute Japanese voice will pronounce it for you! (Rikaikun and Rikaichamp don't have this speech feature.) Neat-o! 👍 I will use this in addition to the other extensions I mentioned. PS: If you have uBlock Origin, make sure to disable it, otherwise the extension will not work correctly. I've found that uBlock Origin interferes with all the Japanese translating extensions.

- This works very well. By far the easiest way I've found to translate text in a PDF. One suggestion: Seeing that the extension obfuscates the URL in the URL bar (which means you can't copy the URL and also stops other extensions working with the PDF), have an easy way to temporarily disable the PDF option so you can see the correct PDF URL and/or use another extension (such as a LLM summariser) without having to open Manage Extensions, find it in the list, turn it off, re-open the pdf and do what you need, then repeat the previous steps to re-enable it.

- Ele não consegue ler frases que estejam dentro dos símbolos < >. Isso é um problema, pois deixo pra ler muitas novelas que tem descrição de habilidades, com esses símbolos. quando isso acontece, ele simplesmente para. Seria bom se a extensão ignora se os símbolos <> e lessem os conteúdos dentro dos símbolos. Além disso, sua velocidade de leitura, ainda é lenta.

- East to use. Read back paragraphs of text. The voice is ok to listen to. Do wish it showed up on the right click menu though.
