**This extension won't be maintained further.** I'm shelving this project due to lack of interest/utility and too much burden. The addon will remain available for download as long as the store allows, and the source on gitlab (https://gitlab.com/Marnes-group/webextensions) will also remain available to fork.
**I do have a greasyfork account (https://greasyfork.org/en/users/18593-marnes) and may publish works there in the future.** I have mild intentions to reimplement the core functionality of CSL, IBCP, and DID as public userscripts.

When you double-click on a piece of plain text, Plain Text Linker tries to determine if what you clicked could be a URL and tries to open it.

I wish that it would somehow alter the page to underline all links so they stand out more, and if there was a way to single-click the link rather than double-clicking it.
- (2021-08-18) _ Vogelmann_: With browsers I often use mouse doubleclick for many reasons, e.g. to translate words. "Plain Text Linker" obviously makes nof difference between likely and unlikelely links. It even opens some single words as URI in a new tab. This should not happen. For example it tried to open the german word "begonnen" as URL (opening new tab, converting "begonnen." to "https://begonnen./". Note that "https://begonnen." is not even a complete domain! ( this happens quite often and is annoying. For this special case doubleclick "begonnen." at https://www.n-tv.de/politik/Taliban-treffen-sich-mit-Ex-Praesident-Karsai-article22750896.html ) This can be far better as you can see with Firefox and it's addon "Text Link" by ""Piro" Hiroshi". I had to disable this Chrome extension.

Hello, many thanks for the great extension! Could you increase the functionality a little? Please add to the settings the ability to open a new tab immediately active.
